About Quest Spam
Quest Spam is Back!!
4.2 compatible
What is Quest Spam?
Quest Spam is a World of Warcraft addon or mod that allows you to share your Achievements and Quest progress with your friends over a chat channel or party/raid chat. Great for sharing your Achievements and Quest status as you grind and level up. There are many options for you to work with that allow you to tailor what events are shared. Quest Spam is good Spam!
Why Quest Spam?
Well I wrote this for me and my brother. We love to level and quest together, but, sometimes (more often than not) we are a few levels apart. Well the chat sometimes goes like this.. "Ding! I Leveled!" , and "Hey, I finished {insertquesthere} and it gave me {insertxphere} XP" and the notorious "How many of {insertcreature} do you have left to kill?". This addon will save you some keystrokes, have more conversation not related to your progress, and it makes the grind more interesting watching two or more toons progress.
Usage
Use the interface options addon panel for toggling features. (see image) I hope it's fairly obvious what each toggle does, I put in some decent tool tips.
Console Usage: /qspam or /qspam status Outputs the preference toggles /qspam on Toggles Quest Spam on/off /qspam stats Spams your level and achievement stats /qspam channelid 6 This will set your spam channel to channel 6 These toggle where quest spam goes /qspam party /qspam raid /qspam channel /qspam local These toggle quest spam features /qspam details /qspam discovery /qspam questxp /qspam levelup /qspam killxp I use this to ensure that things are working right /qspam debug

-objective announcer
neither are as full featured as quest spam
Quest Spam has been updated for 4.2.
I'm back in the game for a bit and we couldn't live with out this ol'addon.
I'm happy you're back. I really enjoy being able to select who gets the message. I also really like the ability to report the XP.

I believe I just fixed the quest spam issues and updated it for 4.2.
Feel free to give it a shot, i need some testers to give me feedback.
I've been out of wow for a while.
Thanks
This is fixed for me in the latest version for 4.2. Please give it a try and get back to me if you have issues (or don't).
I'm sorry, this was plaguing me too as I love to play druid and this was a huge pain to deal with, I didn't have the patience to hunt down the issues as I was barely playing anymore.
Sorry for the horrible run-on sentence ;)
Sounds like a good feature.
Since I'm up for feature requests, i'll look into this one.
No promises.
* Fishing Spam (may work with other professions as well) for those of us who like to fish. Might want to make it a global "gather spam" for fish, mining, leatherworking and herbalism etc.
* Loot Spam (not gold etc.), perhaps of a selectable quality to avoid excess spamming of junk or mundane items.
I'm going to give this add-on a try, it looks like fun. Any chance we could create out own, password protected chat channels for our spamming needs (not just a number)?
FYI: I'm back in the game and looking at suggestions. I'll consider a fishing and I'll look into cooking possibly cooking as I've had friends requests this also. Crafting in general was the request if that makes sense. (I'm not sure why you would want people to know how much of an item you are making though.)
Profession leveling .. yes .. easy enough to do. Something I personally don't usually share but it might be cool in action for bragging purposes. (c:
Loot spam with a basic filter is a decent request. Something as simple as Common/Uncommon/Rare/Epic. I personally probably would only use rare and epic settings (maybe uncommon once in a while). People have a habit of linking their blue bling goods anyway.
Thanks for the requests.
Live and let live or you might get killed!
I'm not sure how long curse takes to update their binaries, but you can also grab it from here:
