About Recipe Radar

Recipe Radar assists players in finding recipes. It knows about vendors who sell recipes in the current region or by profession. It has a number of filtering options and can even locate vendors on the world map.

Tips:

  • There are two "tabs": the main "radar" tab and one that searches by profession!
  • You can bind a key to Recipe Radar through the main menu!
  • There are lots of filtering options - use the dropdowns to customize Recipe Radar!

v1.403; November 30th, 2011

  • Updated for WoW 3.1.

v1.30; March 11, 2009

  • Updated recipe data; asserts should no longer appear in Dalaran, Stormwind and Orgrimmar. Also updated the Stormwind map.
  • Recipe Radar is now able to parse collapsed reputation sections.

  • This is also true for others' linked trade skills (thank you, Thortok2000!).

Thank You for a wonderful add-on... it is unfortunate that changes to the game have made it... well you know.

If you are still working on getting it back to its former glory, I applaud you.

If you have decided not to pursue it further... I applaud you.

    Bender

RecipeRadar shows NO recipe, not a single one, never, doesnt matter, what I try to find .....

    - shows known recipes

    - does not save "delete from map"

Heldan Galesong is gone from the game

Good news though, you can still get this recipe Clam Chowder from Kriggon Talsone in far SW Westfall near a place called Westfall Lighthouse.

All I see with this mod are recipes from the major city vendors. Recipe Radar is NOT showing limited recipes from unique vendors, drops from trash mobs or instance bosses, nor any faction items from potential reputation gains. There are literally hundreds of recipes not listed, & not just newer Cata recipes, but even many recipes from BC & LK quartermasters & dungeons. I'm currently looking at dozens of available recipes in the auction house which are NOT listed with Recipe Radar. These recipes clearly came from someplace, but I have to use Thottbot to find where to get them. Am I missing a hidden option, or does this add-on just suck? I already know where the damned city vendors are & what they offer. I need to know everything else. I'm disabling this mod until somebody can add the necessary information to Recipe Radar's database.

Recipe Radar is designed to only show vendor provided recipes.  The primary purpose for it is to show you what recipes you can buy from a vendor in the zone you are in that apply to you or any of your alts.  It also hasn't been updated in years.  I'm currently working on updated the vendor database, but it is time consuming.

If you want an addon that lists every recipe that your toon can obtain for a given profession, I would suggest you use Ackis Recipe List.  However, ARL does not support providing information on what your alts need if you are not logged into them when doing the query.

Yeah, blizzard really made most of recipe radar less valuable with the consolidation of vendors.  I'm currently working on map and vendor updates.  Once that is done, I'll look at functionality expansion, like allowing the tracking of mobs that drop recipes as well.

Thanks for the reply. I remember Recipe Radar being invaluable back in the day. It was the only mod of its kind, & shown numerous recipes from vendors I hadn't known even existed. However, Blizz has consolidated recipes & removed many unique vendors, making Recipe Radar somewhat useless. The alt search function is a somewhat handy time saver, but if the mod is active on all alts then you'll be using it when logging onto each one anyway. I'll give ARL a shot, but would like to see RR become a prominant mod again.

    no npc at location

ive gone to 3 cities on the map that it says there is a recipe i can learn but no one is there. i looked at all locations in stormwind and i couldn't find an NPC at all much less one selling anything. cooking recipies are verry incorrect in locations unless there is a certain spawn time. personally i think the program would be great if it was right with locations. idk it might just be me

Demeatreus, many recipes are sold in limited quantity. When you see a recipe with a number behind it, like "Cloak Of Whatever (2)", the number is the amount available that day. If somebody has already purchased the recipe, it won't be available again until it respawns. I don't know if the timer is a 24hr timer, or if all recipes reset with server. Just keep checking the vendor, & you'll eventually buy it before anyone else that day. Another tactic is to buy out ALL limited items, & then sell them in AH. You'll always get more than you paid for them since they're limited.

I think this add-on is brilliant, much easier to use than Ackis due to the map location and easier filters.

However my filters always reset after I close the add-on window and I would like to be able to zoom in on map or possibly add NPC marker to my main map, because it's hard to see where they are sometimes (how about adding all NPC locations to main map e.g location of all cooking recipe vendors?)

Plus this needs to be updated to Cataclysm!! I'm having to wowhead all NPC's because they have moved in Cata.

But many thanks for an otherwise easy to use add-on. Very helpful.

Really great to see this addon back. It's already showed me some recipes I missed in Shattrath Laughing

Hope you can keep it working.
