About Recipe Radar

Recipe Radar assists players in finding recipes. It knows about vendors who sell recipes in the current region or by profession. It has a number of filtering options and can even locate vendors on the world map.

Tips:

  • There are two "tabs": the main "radar" tab and one that searches by profession!
  • You can bind a key to Recipe Radar through the main menu!
  • There are lots of filtering options - use the dropdowns to customize Recipe Radar!

v1.403; November 30th, 2011

  • Update support libraries
  • Update TOC for 4.3.0

v1.402; November 27th, 2011

  • Incorporate fixes from several contributors, various tweaks

v1.33; August 11, 2009

  • Fixed several "no coordinates" asserts, sigh.

  • Updated for WoW 3.2, including the new recipes.
  • Alchemy should work again for German users.
  • Fixed a bunch of incorrect recipe data.
  • Updated the Icecrown map.

v1.31; April 14, 2009

  • Updated for WoW 3.1.

v1.30; March 11, 2009

  • Updated recipe data; asserts should no longer appear in Dalaran, Stormwind and Orgrimmar. Also updated the Stormwind map.
  • Recipe Radar is now able to parse collapsed reputation sections.
  • Corrupted alt databases should be repaired on next use.
  • Trade skill filters (eg. searches) should no longer adversely affect your character's known recipes.
  • This is also true for others' linked trade skills (thank you, Thortok2000!).

    Great work.

I'll buy a virtual beer for you ingame ;-)

Thanks for all of the kind and helpful comments! All of the below issues should be fixed as of v1.20. Please let me know if you encounter any problems.

link recipes doesn't work with ger-client

  • #70

There's a tailoring recipe that is "Uncached" in Zangarmarsh from the Cenarion Expedition Quartermaster (Fedryen Swiftspear). When I try to reveal it my game client crashes. I tried going to the quartermaster to update it and it seems the recipe isn't there. Can you remove this recipe? It causes unnecessary crashing. :)

Thanks for all your work on this mod.

Also, I seem to be having a problem with the addon "forgetting" what recipes I already know.

  • #69

I know you're probably swamped with having to take care of TBC recipes, but a nice addition I thought of for this addon would be the ability (maybe a new tab?) to put mobs that drop certiain recipes (instances too) on the radar. That would be pretty awesome I think :)

Hi, someone may have already report it to you, but there is an error in french localization of jewelcrafting : the good one is RecipeRadar_Strings["Jewelcrafting"] = "Joaillerie".

Very nice addon, a must have for those who loves having all recipes or alts.

I have an error message when I want see a vendor on the map : "ASSERT FAILED: region 'Marécage d'Âprefange (Dustwallow Marsh)' not found by GetMapZones()!" (for exemple). This error come everywhere, in every region I try this fonction.

Note : My client is FR with TBC.

The TBC recipe list is far from being complete, this update is a first step into that, just need some patience and the list will be complete.

Anyway, this is a great mod for everyone obsessed by proffessions like me that would like to have ALL recipes of every kind.

What I miss is all patterns that are drop only or quest rewards, but I doubt will be implemented (would be cool).

Seems to be missing alot of alchy recipes...primal might transmute being one.

Thank you for the kind comments! You'll be pleased to know (assuming it works) that all of the new BC recipes are now in Recipe Radar, including the new faction and specialization requirements. Please let me know if you have any trouble with it.

As for painstorm's comment, it may be that most recipes are "Uncached", in which case you'll have to mouseover the "?" icon for each one (you only have to do this once). Or, it may be that your filtering options are too restrictive. You might try playing around with the three dropdowns to see how things change.

I really like this mod! Can't wait to see the outland recipes implemented :)

  • #61

I just wondered how this add-on actually works? It looks fine, but when I call up the dialog, all I see in new zones is recipes from the one vendor I have visited. I also tried looking at Ironforge, but only one vendor with 3 recipes showed up even though I had all professions enabled. Do you have to "teach" the add-on all recipes by visiting every vendor in the game first?

This mod kicks butt!!! Highly recommend it to anyone.
