About Reforgenator
Info
I am looking for more people to help out with Reforgentor testing.
If you are interested in contributing to this addon please send me a message.
If you are having issues please post a ticket It will help us track issues better and make sure we do not miss anything.
Also if there are any other improvements or enhancements to the curent UI that you feel should be implemented please either post a comment or file a ticket. It would be very much appreciated.
Description
This addon attempts to inspects your class, spec, weapons, and stats to construct a priority list of stats and caps. With this model and your currently-equipped gear, this addon determines the most efficient way to reach the relevant caps for each stat.
At this time, at least one reforging scheme is supported for each class/spec.
If you find your class/spec isn't recognized and an appropriate reforging scheme recommended for you, please open a ticket and let me know.
The reforging window has three dropdown boxes to set relevant parameters for reforging:
- Spec to reforge for
- reforge existing or leave them how they are
- reforge for Heroic 5 mans or for raiding.
The first dropdown displays all the models defined for your class. The first time you run Reforgenator for any character, it will guess which model to use based on your class and spec. After the first time, it will choose the same model your character used last time.
The second dropdown box lets you choose between "consider reforging anything" and "leave reforged gear alone".
If you choose "consider reforging anything" then the addon calculates what your stats your character would have if you undid all of your existing reforges and started over.
After figuring out what it wants to reforge, it will display those items that are different than what they are currently; this likely means undoing and redoing some existing reforges on your gear.
If you don't want to undo and redo reforgings, then set the dropdown box to "leave reforged gear alone" and the addon won't attempt to change any of it.
The third dropdown box lets you choose between reforging for heroic 5-man instances and reforging for raid instances.
Finally, there is a checkbox in the settings to emit verbose information about the reforging decisions to the chat frame.
If you get odd results from the reforging, please turn on the checkbox and run Reforgenator again. If the explanation doesn't make sense, please comment on Curse.com or open a ticket. If you can copy-paste the explanation as well, that would be much appreciated.
An armory link for your toon would also be helpful, as this will help us determine what you currently had equipped.

Greetings, I love this addon...it definitely makes my life a lot easier. I've noticed 2 things.
1. It doesn't take into account +Spirit (i.e. Elemental Precision) to counter for +hit
2. For some reason the Elemental Shaman stats are trying to reforge way too high for hit (It has me at 2015 and is still suggesting more +hit)
addon doesnt seem to take the 1% hit from racial in account
already have 17% spellhit and still want me to refoge to hit on my draenei mage
Hmm would you mind creating a ticket at http://wow.curseforge.com/addons/reforgenator/create-ticket/
This is a new issue that hasnt been reported before.
Eiher way thanks for bringing this to my attention. I will put it on the list.
-Ducky
Hello,
First of all, congratulations for this addon who's one of my favorites.
I have a sugestion to improve it (it's an option that would be usefull to hybrid class like mine)
I share a part of my stuff between my 2 spec (resto/boomkin) and there's some piece of stuff that i would exclude of reforging process.
Is it possible for you to make an option to select slots where ignore reforging?
For example, i use the same chest for my 2 specs. i need max spirit for spec 1 so this item is reforged in that sense. If my raid leader asks me to switch to spec 2 in the middle of the raid, i will be hit overcapped except if reforgenator allowed me to reforge other parts of my stuff taking in account that chest that i don't want to reforge.
I expect it is understandable, i'm french so my english is not perfect :p
Thanks for your work
Hi,
Yes that is entirely possible. I have a few additions that I hope to get completed before MoP goes live.
the only problem with this is that the reforge might not be as accurate or benneficial. The only reason it tells you to reforge something is that is is trying to make the entire set of gear be as benefficial as possible.
However something like this does fit in nicely with the other addition that i am working on which is displaying how much it will be for each item.
Thanks,
-Ducky
Yes i agree with you that the accuracy will go down by ignoring some equipment slots but in my case (and i think not to be the only one in that case) the goal is no to reach "the perfect reforging" but "the perfect compromise" :p
If you implement this, you'll change my life (one more time lol)
Thanks for your rapid answer in any case
The stats seem askew. TBH should reflect the info from Elitist jerks or Noxxic.com. That is my two sense. The info from mmo is all opinions
hi sorry i guess i dont undestand what the issue is.
all of the stats for builds do come from EJ or noxxic.
which stats are askew and for which build i am aware of a few issues that will be fixed soon.
thanks
-Ducky
Hello, love the addon and i've noticed that you're very good at responding to comments. Thank you very much. A couple questions I have:
1. Is there a way to designate priority for which stats are reduced when reforging? example: If Hit>crit>haste. I've had a couple situations where i've had a crit/haste item and the addon will tell me to reforge crit into hit.Is there a built in way to avoid that?
2. Is there a way to list two (or more) stats that you want to be as high as possible but also equal to each other? Parry and dodge for example.
Thank you again
Hi,
To answer your questions, yes there is.
To do both you will need to create your own profile, this is done by right clicking on the minimap icon for Reforgenator. This will bring up the addon settings. expand the Reforgenator one with the + sign and you have 2 options,
1. Copy an existing profile and modify it.
2. Completely create a new profile.
After you have created the new profile you can select it in the main program window using the dropdown menus
if you need anyhting else just ask I am always willing to help, and if you find that the build in profile needs modification feel free to send me a message with what should be changed, I am always trying to improve but I dont know what needs improving if no one tells me it needs it.
Thank you as always for using Reforgenator
-Ducky
Actually you are correct. How it works is it priotitizes the stats in two ways. first I a a>b>c priority but each stat also has a weight as well a=1, b=.75, c=.35. the a>b takes priority in the calculation. once the requirement for a is reached it wil move on to stat b and so on until each requirement is met in the priority they are programmed.
as for the second point I believe that is currently possible as there are a few builds that require something similar.
I will take a closer look and get back to you on this. I just wanted to pop on and add to the discussion again.
thanks again
-Ducky
Thanks for the reply. I have already made my own profiles to control stat priority but i can't find a way to control which stats are reduced when reforging. In my previous hit>crit>haste example. If i have an item with crit and haste i would obviously choose to turn haste-->hit rather than crit-->hit. But a few times the addon has asked me to turn crit-->hit. Seems like in some cases the addon isn't taking secondary or tertiary rules into consideration when making its suggestions.
As for the 2nd question, it's alluded to in the last line of the addon's help section.
I was thinking something like this
"1. Parry: maximum possible"
"2. Dodge:equal to rule 1"
In effect making two different stats have an equal priority
just wondering my reforgenator is telling me to reforg everything on my ele shaman to spirit when im already hit capped is this a bug?
Possibly if you could please create a ticket and provide any info that you can it would be appreciated
You can create a ticket here http://wow.curseforge.com/addons/reforgenator/create-ticket/
Hey, seems like a great addon. Though, as it happens I wanted to try to see if I could somehow mage my mage PvE Frost Specced (I'm crazy, I know), and it seems that the rule of spell crit rating is set at 23,34% crit. I've looked online at various guides, and even the one that's linked to by the addon ingame says it's 33,4% instead. It doesn't seem I can change this in the addon, so is it something that can be changed, or can I change it myself?
