V2.4.1 has been released.

There are still a few outstanding issues that need to be aderesed but overall there is functionality for wow 5.4

I have added a few models and wll continue to tweak them when they need it.

The next update (2.4.1) should help with hit caps across the board.

Description

This addon attempts to inspects your class, spec, weapons, and stats to construct a priority list of stats and caps. With this model and your currently-equipped gear, this addon determines the most efficient way to reach the relevant caps for each stat.

At this time, at least one reforging scheme is supported for each class/spec.

If you find your class/spec isn't recognized and an appropriate reforging scheme recommended for you, please open a ticket and let me know.

The reforging window has three dropdown boxes to set relevant parameters for reforging:

  • Spec to reforge for
  • reforge existing or leave them how they are
  • reforge for Heroic 5 mans or for raiding.

The first dropdown displays all the models defined for your class. The first time you run Reforgenator for any character, it will guess which model to use based on your class and spec. After the first time, it will choose the same model your character used last time.

The second dropdown box lets you choose between "consider reforging anything" and "leave reforged gear alone".

If you choose "consider reforging anything" then the addon calculates what your stats your character would have if you undid all of your existing reforges and started over.

After figuring out what it wants to reforge, it will display those items that are different than what they are currently; this likely means undoing and redoing some existing reforges on your gear.

If you don't want to undo and redo reforgings, then set the dropdown box to "leave reforged gear alone" and the addon won't attempt to change any of it.

The third dropdown box lets you choose between reforging for heroic 5-man instances and reforging for raid instances.

Finally, there is a checkbox in the settings to emit verbose information about the reforging decisions to the chat frame.

If you get odd results from the reforging, please turn on the checkbox and run Reforgenator again. If the explanation doesn't make sense, please comment on Curse.com or open a ticket. If you can copy-paste the explanation as well, that would be much appreciated.

An armory link for your toon would also be helpful, as this will help us determine what you currently had equipped.

    its been bout a month since iv played my druid but from what iv seen that regen really is important. personally i like to work on my spell power to pick up the slack on haste bigger heals lol . after all its mostly hots anyways .

    i will have to look into the haste issue on my guy and try to bring it up a little see if it helps on saving mana. but for sure that spirit is the key to it all . no point on anything else if ya dont have mana to heal with .

    i will work on my druid for next couple days and let ya know how it turns out .

    yea my ilvl is currently 468 equipped for resto 

    I have absolutely no issues with heroics and usually heal through most anything even tanks that try to intentionally wipe.

    I usually run into mana issues raiding though both in LFR and normal 10 mans.  

    as a result my total hesls suffer but i have almost no overhealing either so... i try to look at it as i am using it wisely. 

    thats with 9k spirit and haste at 11.4%

    well i have been healing with my druid since day one and always find my self out healing many others and with ease. atm my gear score is 454 not very well geared but not having any issues healing groups. i did find tho that alot of the runs  drain mana quick so i suggest lots of spirit for that combat regen . here are my stats for the time being

    as i have stated i run heroics with no problem and thats running in pugs . we all know how that turns out lol . but noone dies on my watch unless ya got a nub lol.

    if i had to say what is best first it would be the regen ..so spirit then haste for the ticks rest will follow easy .

    I have to bring it up again. Presumably it was not understood by the Google translation. My mage is Reforging on weapon skill. This may be true in any case!

    In the retranslation returns garbage out. ^ ^

    The problem:
    Mage = Weapon Skill?

    ah by weapon skill you mean expertise?

    that is a new mehcanic that happened with the release of 4.03 

    in the same manner that spirit will count as hit 

    expertise will now count as hit 

    It should only resort to that leven when there are a couple of conditions:

    1. the hit cap has not been reached 

    2. there are no more items that can be reforged to hit, OR there is a way to get closer to the hit cap by reforging to expertise than hit

    Example:  the hit cap is 15% currently you have 14.95% you can reforge a piece that will give you 15.15% to hit, or you can reforge a piece that will give you 15.03% to expertise.

    I agree that it is a little confusing but i hope that clears it up.

    I will be releasing an update in a few minutes that should take care of a few issues with the conversion as well.

    Reforgenator hopelessly broken?

    It seems the Blizzard code changes have claimed another addon victim...

    This used to be a great thing to have, but as it will not accept my changes, even on a new model I have to dump it after messing with it for a couple of days.  I realize there are many changes in how stats work, but suggesting a hit capped (via spirit) Spriest reforge everything for hit is at best  annoying, especially as this was not broken in older versions of reforgenator. Additionally it is doing similar things for both my Blood DK and Affl Warlock in regards to Mastery vs. Hit.

    yes there were a bunch of code changes and mechanics changes.

    but hopelessly broke? not sure what version you are looking at but for the majority of classes/specs it is working about  95% 

    there are a few that might need work yes but it does work for the most part.

    Its not like its not getting worked on at all I do this in my FREE TIME so yes it might be a bit slow but seriously we arent even to the first majot patch and not even all the raids from launch are open yet.

    as for any bug that you encounter http://wow.curseforge.com/addons/reforgenator/create-ticket/ with the relevant info and I will work on resolving it.

    s for getting hit capped there are actually alot of instances now where spirit/expertise is the only way to get hit capped as reforging mto hit is not an option for that piece. much more so than what was seen before.

    the class models are changing constantly as well as more and more people are reaching a place where they can get meaningful information outof their own characters with gear that is good but not great.  there are several models that in the last 2 weeks have had the stat priorities slightly altered.

    on top of that whole classes were re-written (by blizzard) to what stats were used/important.  

    If you want to call it broken I might be ok with that if you are refering to characters that are not at lvl 90 that is a know issue that is almost unanimously aggreed upon to not be of #1 priority. the reason? not many people want to spent hundreds of gold to reforge gear only to replace it again after the next quest chain is over 

    ok ill stop now I hate walls of text and I could be doing something more useful, and the grammar Nazi's will be all over this one i'm sure. lol

    FWIW thanks for the input anyway It makes me realize that there are other out threre that might feel the same way and it only makes me want to work on it more so that it really can approach that point of working with no major issues just needs tweaks here and there. (its close to being there already)

    Have you added monk specs yet?I've used this addon on most of my toons...LF mistweaver spec.I'll just softcap haste,and get as much spirit as possible,but this add helped do all that for me so I was sad no monk specs in modles.=/ Nice add btw.

    um yes monks are added no they are not working correctly.

    a fix for them is coming soon I am trying to get expertise to hit working first before correcting specs

    but getting monks working is on the priority list (fairly hight too)

    most likely this week/end but no promises ill see what i can do.

    Hi are you able to take a look at hunters, currently it seems to want to cap expertise before hit, they are both important stats but a chance to miss (hit) should have precedence over chance to dodge (expertise).

    Actually it is recommended that expertise is capped either before or at the same time for all specs of hunters (i have no clue to the exact reason other than it may be easier to dodge then miss...) either way as long as both get capped ther shouldnt be too much of an issue if either one is not cappjng and it is movin on to Others or o e is way over cap and fhe other is under cap then there is gojng To Be an issue but it all has to do with what can get reforged and how close something gets.  

    Remember if the prequesite stats are not on the gear it wont be able to be reforged to anythi g useful and yoj may come up short of the cap

    ok i have just uploaded a beta that should fi the issues that people were seeing.

    If there are no issues with it after a couple of days I will release it as v2.2  as it stands now it is B2.2 

    to get it you will either need to download it directly or set your client to download beta builds.

    I did it this way because there may still be a few issues.

    So test it and let me know how it works.

    I'm getting the hit loop issue as well on my affliction warlock.  First reforgenator gets me over hit cap..then i hit the button to calculate again and it tells me to forge off my highest value stat into even more hit...hit the button again and more reforging suggestions.  If I follow it's advice I end up almost 3% over hit cap, having far less gold, and losing alot of my more valuable stats.

    I also can't figure out why it'll sometimes forge off a stat with a weight of 60 for example when it could forge off a stat with a weight of 10.  I'm going to have to assume it's all part of the same bug.  It seems at times when processing the first rule, hit rating, it doesn't always target the weaker stats first.  Almost as if it's just going for the shortest path to hit cap instead of the smartest path.

    Yea it is actually a bug that is universal to all classes that use exp to hit or spirit to hit as it is in the same function.  There are actually a couple of functio s that need To be rewritten inorder for it to properly optimize.

    There are actually a few issues but only one is  usually seen unless you have gear that fits a certain profile then they both can show up.  But it still stemms feom the same issues and will indeed be improved upon in the next release hopefully sometime this week
