About Reforgenator

News

V2.4.3 has been released.

There are still many Issues that need addressing but i figured i would push a couple updates that I have made.

I have started to go through all of the models and update them where needed.

I am aware of the expertise not counting as hit issue and am working to resolve it.

If you know of any other calcualtions that are not correct please let me know and i will work to fix them.

I have quite a bit of re-writing to do to cleanup alot of messy code.

If anyone is interested in helping out please let me know.

Description

This addon attempts to inspects your class, spec, weapons, and stats to construct a priority list of stats and caps. With this model and your currently-equipped gear, this addon determines the most efficient way to reach the relevant caps for each stat.

At this time, at least one reforging scheme is supported for each class/spec.

If you find your class/spec isn't recognized and an appropriate reforging scheme recommended for you, please open a ticket and let me know.

The reforging window has three dropdown boxes to set relevant parameters for reforging:

  • Spec to reforge for
  • reforge existing or leave them how they are
  • reforge for Heroic 5 mans or for raiding.

The first dropdown displays all the models defined for your class. The first time you run Reforgenator for any character, it will guess which model to use based on your class and spec. After the first time, it will choose the same model your character used last time.

The second dropdown box lets you choose between "consider reforging anything" and "leave reforged gear alone".

If you choose "consider reforging anything" then the addon calculates what your stats your character would have if you undid all of your existing reforges and started over.

After figuring out what it wants to reforge, it will display those items that are different than what they are currently; this likely means undoing and redoing some existing reforges on your gear.

If you don't want to undo and redo reforgings, then set the dropdown box to "leave reforged gear alone" and the addon won't attempt to change any of it.

The third dropdown box lets you choose between reforging for heroic 5-man instances and reforging for raid instances.

Finally, there is a checkbox in the settings to emit verbose information about the reforging decisions to the chat frame.

If you get odd results from the reforging, please turn on the checkbox and run Reforgenator again. If the explanation doesn't make sense, please comment on Curse.com or open a ticket. If you can copy-paste the explanation as well, that would be much appreciated.

An armory link for your toon would also be helpful, as this will help us determine what you currently had equipped.

Ok, verbose says I have 459 expertise.

Ingame char window says I have 741 expertise. +600 Inge cogwheels, 141 Reforge (Speed to expertise on a ring)

600-141 = 459 (that is what reforge verbos says. Maybe a bug? :)

    *****************************************************************************

    Chance to hit (Spell)

    Reforge verbose says "Spell hit:4680"

    Char window says:4962

    ****************************************

There are more differences betwen what reforge and the char window says :/.

    maybe there is something I fdon`t know/see?

Sword specialization human racial is calculated wrong.  It only adds 1% expertise.  This is causing reforge suggestions to go way below the cap.

Base expertise rating required = 2550
+3 expertise for being Human with sword or mace
    expertise rating modification = 1020
    target expertise rating = 1530
    desired value is 1530

The actual cap with sword or mace spec is around 2210 expertise, not 1530 as it got nerfed from 3 expertise levels to 1%.

    Thanks!

    thanks for pointing this out.

I will put this in the next patch that should be out in the next day or so

I am worried about my arcane mage showing expertise

  • #753

expertise counts as hit so on any gear that you cannot reforge to hit it will reforge to expertise until you are hit capped.

HI, Excellent addon but having a lot of problems with it since expansion. On my SV hunter it is telling me to reforge back to hit which would mean I would be almost double the hit cap. As it stands I have reforged all my hti and still am at 8.46% yet the addon is telling me to reforge back to hit?

  • #752

yes this is actually an error in the model itself and shold be fixed in the next release.

it is tryign to account for expertise double.

if you dont mind what are the values that it is actually reforging to?

you dont have to actually do this just turn on verbose reforging and it will print it all out.

    thanks

I am having a similar issue with BM hunter but its putting me under hit cap and over expertise by a lot (says to reforge to 2348 hit and 2734 exp). I am downgrading to version 2.0.1 in the meantime which is newest version that handles hit/exp correctly. Love the addon, much better than ask mr. robot!

My fire mage is reforging to Expertise. ^ ^

Expertise counts as hit the stat priorities from just about anywhere state that hit cap is more important than crit.

once the hit cap of 15% is reached then it should start to reforge items to crit.

this is the link that I am going by but there are other places that say the same thing for fire mages as well as simulation craft results.

    http://www.noxxic.com/wow/pve/mage/fire/stat-priority

I am not saying there isnt still an issue with expertise to hit conversion but what you are describing is actually the addon working properly.

I just figure i would put this here so it was in another place as well to give more people a chance to read it.

there are a few instances that it may go a bit too far but its better than not enough and leave you without being at hit cap

    Expertise = Hit

    So its fine.

Only have a Monk at 90, so not sure if this is will all classes or not.

Windwalker doesn't work with it.  I made a custom model for Brewmaster and everytime I try to reforge, when I pull it back up the reforges are entirely different.  I decided to see where it was going, but I went through about 6 reforge cycles before I gave up.  I also skipped the "Cap" and just went straight for FixedValues so I could get to go where I wanted.  No where near any of the targets.

Mistweaver friend had same problem.  Reforges kept changing, and it would never get her to the haste cap.  Haste cap of 1345 was rule 2, but Reforgenator was still obeying Rule 3 and Rule 4 first.  Not sure if it's a Monk issue or class wide, only 90s I know of that use it are me and another Monk.

Sorry that this info could not be more helpful.  I've made a lot of custom models from most classes/specs before, so I'm pretty comfortable with using pre-5.0 Reforgenator.  Could be user error, but it's a low possibility.  Probably just bugs.

  • #745

    hi thanks for the info

yes i know that monks are very messed up right now

I am working on it right now actually on the ptr.

the issue is the weights i have are meaningless and until i get real weights it just thorw up al over the place.
