About RememberWhen

Automatically takes screenshots of memorable events during your playing time. Including leveling up and achievements.

  • Takes screenshot on achievement earned
  • Takes screenshot on player level up
  • Takes screenshot on event for failed screenshot
  • Takes screenshot on first time boss kills (recorded per player for alts)
  • Slash command /rmw
Cataclysm Raids Added

I will rely heavily on you guys to help me test this. I am currently not raiding, but still want to provide this feature for the mod. I will add a checklist here and if anyone can verify a screenshot the first time they kill the following bosses, I will mark them off the list (confirmed = *).

Baradin Hold

  • Argaloth

The Bastion of Twilight

  • Vaiona
  • Theralion
  • Halfus Wyrmbreaker
  • Elementium Monstrosity
  • Cho'gall
  • Sinestra

Blackwing Descent

  • Magmaw
  • Maloriak
  • Atramedes
  • Chimaeron
  • Nefarian

Throne of the Four Winds

  • Anshal *
  • Nezir *
  • Rohash *
  • Al'Akir

If there are any bugs, please address them here and I will do my best to correct them. I need to know the following for boss kill screenshots:

  • What zone you are in: /script message(GetRealZoneText())
  • What the unit name is that died (must be on before the death): /rmw debug

OK, might be a stupid question, but where are the screenshots saved? I can't see an option to set the folder they go into.

Or does this just do the equivalent of pressing PrintScreen, and Ctrl+V into Paint?

If the latter, is there any way you could give us the option of auto-saving the image to a folder we choose? If you're in the middle of a raid it's not really practical to tab out and copy a screenshot into Paint :)

Screenshots are taken by pressing the printscreen button or via a mod. The screenshots folder resides in the wow folder. By default I believe it's C:\Users\Public\Games\World of Warcraft\Screenshots on Vista and Windows 7 based machines. However this is different on XP and can be changed from default at time of install. If you can't find it, check your desktop shortcut and figure out where wow.exe is.

    Hope this helps.

It did, thank you! I found them in the screenshots folder inside the WoW game folder. Don't know why I didn't check in there in the first place lol :)

I was hoping this addon would take a screenshot when I earned an achievement, of the achievement "banner" as well, but it doesn't. Or I can't work out how to.

It does take the screenshot, but it doesn't have a proper achievement announcement that comes up near the middle of the screen, it seems to "clear" that before taking the shot.

It's all about how quickly your computer processes it. I'm not sure if I can make it perfect across all computers.

First off, thanks for this little add-on.  Was wondering in a future release if some sort of delay could be set to it.  A small menu to delay the screen shot as it pops about 1 second too soon for me sometimes.  Thanks again.

    Error occured in: Global

    Message: ...erface\AddOns\RememberWhen\RememberWhenFunctions.lua line 154:

On line 154 the line reads:

          BH_Occuthar - 0,

Change the dash to an equals sign:

          BH_Occuthar = 0,

This will fix the error everytime you log into the game.

I know of the issue where all bosses in blackwing descent are not accounted for by RW. I have made a correction to the spelling and also removed possibility of case sensitive issues. This should be updated as soon as curse approves the file.

I have changed the slash command to /rmw
The HS was incorrect. Making two mods at once made me slip up, but this is corrected now. I will upload the corrected version.

    Hey l3gsh0t, is

    18: DEFAULT_CHAT_FRAME:AddMessage("|cffffff00Invalid argument for /hs");

    intended to be "/hs" ?

Request: could you change the /rw command and switch it to something else, since /rw is used for raid warnings as well.

    Just delete(or comment with -- ) line 21 of RememberWhenFunctions.lua

Not really. It's all or nothing at this point. Basically I have three events being tracked (achievement earned, player level up, and screenshot failed), when one of these three take place the addon takes a screenshot so you can look back at your adventures through wow. I wish I'd had this addon when I started playing in vanilla, but at least I've started writing them now.

In the future I will have to add a user interface that you can toggle which options you want. I plan to have it take screenshots on first recorded boss kills as well.
