About Reputation Session Tracker

Reputation Tracker shows how much your reputation with factions changes during a session. Perfect for those times when you're farming faction rep. It now tracks any and all rep changes, even those that do not trigger reputation change events.

For each faction your rep changes with you will see:

  • The amount of reputation gained or lost
  • Your current standing
  • Percentage into your current standing
  • Exact remaining reputation to get to the next standing

The 'current standing' report fades in when you mouse over the mod, and hides when you don't to conserve screen space. It also will highlight your standing and rep remaining with different colors depending on the current value.

The totals are reset whenever you log out of your character.

The configuration screen has several options:

  • Ignoring losing rep for hated factions
  • Adjusting the display font size.
  • Reseting the totals

All slash commands have been implemented here for easier use and control.

However, if you still want to use the existing slash commands, you can type /RST or /RepTrackerHelp to see a list of slash commands available. Currently though new options are only available in the configuration screen.

Version 2.10
- Fixed clamping to screen not working.

Version 2.09
- Updated TOC for WoW patch 4.3
- No other changes

Version 2.08
- Updated TOC for 4.02 patch
- Yes, version 2.07 was skipped, I never released it. 2.07 was for debugging an issue with guild rep getting screwy but never resolved it. I ended up rolling the changes into more changes in 2.08 for patch 4.02
- And, finally made changes to how faction rep is tracked to fix random factions from showing bogus values for Gained Rep. This means the 1st time you gain rep with a new faction it may not show until the 2nd time you get rep with them.
- This especially affected the rep gained for your guild. Often you would see an entry for "Guild" and then later an entry with your guild name. This appears to be a bug with the API where it doesn't populate the name of your guild until After the 1st time you gain rep. For now I've set it to try and ignore the guild rep until the name is populated in the API table.

Version 2.06
- Updated TOC for 4.0
- Updated to support the new API changes in 4.0
- Changed handling for when you gain rep and discover the faction at the same time. Given how many problems this has caused with getting nil values from the Game Engine I've thrown my hands up in the air. Now it just detects this and ignores the 1st time. So you won't see anything the first time, but all subsequent rep changes should be tracked.

Version 2.05
- Updated TOC for 3.3
- Added an option to toggle Auto-hiding the reputation display
- Fixed a bug since version 2.0 that caused reputation losses to be hidden no matter what.

Version 2.04
- Updated TOC for 3.2
- Added a command line to reset the GUI position to the center of the screen (no clue why I never put this in sooner, lol) /rst ResetPos
Type /rst to see other command lines
- Also updated the GUI so it will clamp to the edge of the screen now so it is easier to dock to screen edges

Version 2.03
- Updated TOC for 3.1, no other functional change from previous version.

Version 2.02
- Finished support for the Text Summary report function. It is now compatible with the new tracking scheme.
- Fixed a slight text alignment issue on the config screen.

Version 2.01
- Added another event hook to catch faction reputation changes better. It now updates a little more frequently and should always be up-to-date.
- This fixes the problem where the Parent faction that gets 50% of any 1 of 4 factions didn't update right away.
- Another attempt at fixing the compare with nil error at line 468.
- If you continue to encounter problems please post up with details so I can continue to debug the cause.

Version 2.00
- Completely redid the tracking code and design. It now catches all rep changes. This includes the fractional rep other factions get from a main faction (such as alliance/horde factions or the new Wrath factions).
- Changed the UI to hide by default and show on mouseover to make it more compact. If everyone really wants this to be an option I'll add that later, but we'll see.
- This should also take care of the bug that happened when gaining rep while discovering a faction.
- Added a new command line as well, /RST. Not that there's much in the way of actual commands, but I wanted to streamline this a little.

Version 1.10
- Updated toc for WoW ver 3.0 patch for Echos of Doom, no functional change.

Version 1.09
- Updated toc for WoW ver 2.4 patch, no functional change.

Version 1.08
- Corrected the font size for the UI not updating correctly on load. If you changed the font before, it wouldn't take effect next time you logged in until you opened the control panel again.

Version 1.07
- Fixed a text alignment issue for the Reputation to Go pane
- Updated for WoW version 2.3.0

Version 1.06
- Fixed a text alignment issue for the % standing pane where some numbers would have the left edge covered up by the edge of the Rep to go pane
- Added a configuration screen for controlling all of the user options. It also includes a reset to defaults feature and the ability to clear the tracked data. This screen can be opened by clicking the c icon on the display.
- Added an option to ignore tracking of reputation lost for factions you are hated with (exa. if you gain rep with Aldor and lose with Scyers, it will only show the rep you gained with Aldor). This option can be used to help conserve screen space, or if you don't care about becoming more hated). This option defaults to off.
- Added the ability to control font size for the display.

Version 1.05
- Updated for WoW version 2.2.

Version 1.04
- Added a column for Reputation remaining until next standing and made it color based on % left (Red > 66%, Orange >33%, Green
- Also added color highlighting to the current standing to make it more visible. The coloring is done by:
+ Hated & Hostile - Red
+ Unfriendly - Orange
+ Neutral - Yellow
+ Friendly - Green
+ Honored - Blue Green
+ Revered & Exalted - Blue
- Also made some various UI tweaks to make the look more consistent.

Version 1.03
- Added dialog buttons for minimizing the dialog and to lock it in place to prevent it from being moved around accidentally.
- The lock-in-place feature is saved between login sessions for each character (so you can have it locked on 1 character but not locked on another.

Version 1.02
- Additional fixes to text alignment
- Fixed bug with applying faction rep changes for groups to all factions in the group. For example if you gain 25 rep with Alliance, it wouldn't show Ironforge gaining rep.

Version 1.01
- Fixed a minor bug with the alignment of text in the lookup column that fades in and out.
- Updated to WoW version 2.1.0

I love the addon, use it all the time :o)

Is there any similar addons around for gold looted? Like a "Gold Session Tracker" :o)

  • #61

    Great addon!

One question... What is the "L" button supposed to do in the RST bar... the one that changes to a "U" when you click on it?

    Thanks,

    Rob

Just fills in all 30+ of my exalted factions regardless of how many times I hit clear 2 kills later and its back to full.

More annoying then useful at this point.
  • #56
Trelander, there is something specific with your situation, I have never seen this behavior and I always have the add-on enabled.

There is more too it than it just happens, please check your settings related to reputations and try to provide more detail.

I can only work on problems that I can reproduce...
  • #54
I had this problem and it was driving me nuts. installed and reinstalled RST repeatedly until i noticed it was 'only' the exalted reputations, and only seemed to happen on two of my characters.

Turns out it is somehow caused by the reputations I have checked as inactive. If you uncheck inactive for all your exalted reputations, RST will stop rediscovering them every time you log in or get some kills.

Give it a shot, it worked for me and I don't have to disable it out of annoyance anymore.
  • #55
Rotes, that definitely helps since I should be able to repeat it myself and investigate. Disabling a faction shouldn't be an issue unless there is some strange sequencing in how the game handles the factions.

It definitely doesn't do any good if it is always populating with incorrect data.
  • #51
Got an error today for the first time. Looks like it occurred when i got rep for a certain faction for the first time.

This happens when you discover the faction at the same time as you gain rep with it. Unfortunately I've tried to resolve this before and had little success.

I think it happens due to the sequence of how the event happens and when the data is available to be pulled from the server.

I may have to consider just short circuiting it and letting the user lose the 1st rep change in this circumstance... It would be better than a the add-on error.

Look for the new version (2.05) as soon as the site updates the file
  • #49
New version posted with a bug fix and a new option to toggle the auto-hide feature.

The new option is in the configuration screen.
  • #48
Working on getting the ability to toggle the "auto hide" feature implemented, in the mean time this is compatible with 3.3 with no changes.

I'll try and get the new version posted shortly.
