About SavedInstances

SavedInstances

An addon that keeps track of the instance/raid lockouts saved against your characters, and related currencies and cooldowns. SavedInstances has the following features:

  • Tooltip display shows current lockouts and data for all your characters, and optionally expired lockouts
  • Secondary tooltip (per-lockout) shows lockout details including bosses available, lock status and time remaining, and can be linked into chat
  • Tracks the valor points, justice points, honor points and conquest points of all your characters, including weekly caps
  • Tracks charms of good fortune and other useful currencies
  • Tracks weekly World Boss Loots (Sha of Anger, Galleon, Oondasta, Nalak)
  • Tracks LFR bosses looted
  • Tracks holiday boss encounters
  • Tracks daily and weekly quests completed for each toon
  • Tracks monthly Darkmoon Faire quests completed for each toon
  • NEW Tracks weekly "special" loots on the Isle of Thunder
  • NEW in 5.5: Tracks trade skill cooldowns
  • NEW in 5.6: Tracks farm planting and harvest on Sunsong Ranch
  • Tracks data for all your characters across servers and factions
  • Can be configured to always show your favorite instances so you can use it like a shopping list
  • Tracks Blizzard's 5 instance per hour per account limit
  • Left-click to open Blizzard's Raid Information window
  • Right-click to configure SavedInstances

Known Issues

SavedInstances is pretty good, but it's still not quite perfect. There are currently a few issues:

  • lockout time remaining and other features may be off by an hour when your region changes to and from Daylight Savings Time, or if you manually adjust the timezone of your computer.
  • when first installed, SavedInstances has no idea what your other characters are saved to: you'll need to log into them too for their information to be recorded
  • Tracking for the 5 instance per hour limit uses heuristic detection and hence may occasionally be inaccurate (notably when another player has lead and performs explicit resets), but does a reasonable job for common cases.
  • Farm planting/harvest support only tracks activities performed while the addon is enabled
  • might not be compatible with DockingStation's tooltip scaling feature

LibDataBroker versus FuBar

SavedInstances will create a new button on the minimap, and you can use it to interact with SavedInstances just fine. This addon can also be displayed using a LibDataBroker-compatible display addon. I personally use Chocolate Bar which works quite well.

Official FuBar support was terminated a while ago for a variety of reasons. If you still use FuBar, you may get SavedInstances to work with it using Broker2Fubar.

    Oondasta tracking is re-enabled in addon version 5.6.0, now that Blizzard finally fixed the quest flag with 5.3.

    <3 this addon, as an altoholic, I wouldn't be ableto play without it - it's always the first addon I install whenever I wipe my WoW install! Great job and thank you!

    Small request : Would it be possible to add your Rated Battleground current rating under the conquest tooltip? Or perhaps in the tooltip under the name? That's the only thing I'm missing from this otherwise brilliant mod =)

    Hi guys, first of all: I really appreciate this addon, esp because I have quite a lot of twinks and it does make life a lot easier. Thanks a lot! :) My friends (who also love the addon) and I have been wondering if you could somehow integrate which chars have been to the farm? That would be a wonderful feature :)

    Hi. I have a request;

    For the Indicators, could you make an option to have the counter starting from one color and it would be changing the higher the counter is to reach the maximum.

    So for 1/12 the color will be red, then gradually it will eventually turn all the way to green at 12/12.

    I like this much better than just one color, or class color. Thank you!

    Lovely addon. Unfortunately, something in the 30/04 update completely stops SatrinaBuffFrames from running, and that addon is essential to my UI and no longer supported so I'm going to have to lose this one.

    I will continue to highly recommend this addon to friends and guildies though as it is the best I've seen for displaying the info. Nice work!

    It's very unlikely this addon would directly conflict with SatrinaBuffFrames.

    It's possible that the updated Ace3 library embedded in SavedInstances is somehow breaking the no-longer-maintained SBF, which still embeds a long-outdated version of Ace3. You could try installing this (and all other Ace3 addons) disembedded to force the use of an outdated Ace3, but the better solution would be for SBF to merge a current Ace3.

    Please direct any followups to the ticket system.

    Would it be possible to track if we have looted the Key to the Palace of Lei Shen from a rare that week?  We are limited to only one drop per week from a mob.

    That is already tracked under weekly quests, along with the other Isle of Thunder weekly events. Hover your mouse over the weekly quest count to see the details.

    There is a delay of up to 2-3 minutes before the server reports the quest completion flag for IoT loots.

    Thank you for the clarification.

    Edit: Hmm, I just checked and there's no change to my weekly quests after killing a rare and looting a key.  It only shows my Mogu Runes of Fate and the weekly Raid quest Something Foul is Afoot.

    Where exactly is this trade skill cooldown for 5.5.0? Did you remove the mouseover pop-up for minimap?

    Noticed that the names are hidden, is this intended? (I only play on 1 server but I think it'll be confusing for players who on multiple servers)

    Currencies weren't tracked
