  • A HUD overlay for resource gathering, target tracking, and more.

I have started playing WoW again after taking a couple of months off.  I have noticed that I cannot get my tracking buttons to show up even if I put the check mark in the Always option.  I usually have it the On Hover option but tried to change it to see if I could get them to come up.  My main concern is not being able to turn on my different profession nodes for my toons.

I also use ElvUI and I have gone through their options as well and do not see anything that could keep my Sexy map tracking button from showing up.  Any advice would be greatly appreciated.  Otherwise I may have to try a reinstall to fix the issue.

  • #2664

Generally these issues are caused by other addons. There may not be an option for it in ElvUI but the chances are it is responsible for it. You can test this easily by disabling all addons other than SexyMap and trying to reproduce the issue.

Thanks for the quick response.  With all the changes made to ElvUI since I last played WoW I did find out how to turn off their minimap so I could use just SexyMap.  Once I did that my buttons were there once again.  I appreciate your time to respond and am sorry it ended up being nothing to do with your addon.  I have always preferred SexyMap over other minimap mods so I am glad I get to keep using it :)  Thanks again!

I'm sure this has been asked before, but I couldn't find it while browsing back a few pages...

Is there any way to turn off the boss health bar/frame that comes along with SexyMap? I have my own boss mods, and this little 'feature' just gets in the way. =( I can't move it or shrink it (known bug), or turn it off at all.

I really love SexyMap and have used it forever, but I'm confused as to why this was even put in at all? It's a map addon after all, not a boss mod. =(

  • #2661

I'm amazed that you think the Blizzard boss frames, which look exactly like the player/target etc frames, are a SexyMap feature, and not infact a Blizzard feature, which they are.

  • #2662

Ah, I'm sorry then. =( I have all of the default Blizzard UI turned off, except for this one little frame that is tied into the map somehow. I can move where this frame is located *only* via options in Sexymap, but if I try it just glitches and resets (you mentioned this as a known bug a page or two ago). I didn't mean to come across as rude or anything, just confused, so I apologize. =(

Edit: I just wanted to add that this frame isn't always there. It shows up only for certain NPCs/encounters, most recently today with my Shado-Pan dailies I got a frame for my companion. I can take a screenshot of my "movers" showing if it would help, it shows up just below my minimap in the top right corner, and just above my quest tracking that is directly below the map itself. It just... randomly squishes itself in there sometimes and pushes my quest tracking down.

Hey, I've notice a really annoying bug, First thing, those borders the blue things set out like a circle is really ugly but the really annoying bug as you can see, the blue area is upside down on the route 66?

  • #2655

Hi, my minimap is zooming out automatically a second or two after I've zoomed in.

Can I turn this off somehow, I find it very annoying.

Mouseover the autozoom option and read what it says.

    Ah .. duh.

I was looking for a checkmark option, I totally missed the slider.

I really enjoy the SexyMap Addon!!  Unfortunately, today I noticed that the minimap zoom function is not working the same as it used to.  As recently as several days ago (to best of my knowledge) the mouse scroll wheel controlled the zoom of the minimap with the same increment size as you got using the "zoom in" + and "zoom out" - buttons on the standard minmimap.  As of today when I disable SexyMap I find that the minimap can be zoomed from min to max with a total of 6 positions ( i.e. if you are zoomed to max, it takes 5 clicks of the zoom in (+) minimap button to go to miin and vice versa.  This is as it has been for at least the last ten months... I have no knowledge of prior to then.

Sexymap used to work the same way.  Currently, with SexyMap enabled, it only takes 3 clicks to cover the full zoom range.  This results in an increment size which is drastically larger than the standard increment size.  For my use, this destroys the utililty of the mouse scroll wheel to control minimap zoom.

I have determined that it is unrelated to my Win7 mouse settings (which I had not made any changes to anyhow).

I do not know what other users may be experiencing..

Please offer any suggestions or information you can to allow me to regain the original increment size.

Thank you for all your hard work in developing and maintaining one of the finest WoW addons I have had the pleasure to use!!

Re: Mouse wheel zoom of minimap

Some further observations of what I am seeing...

I turned on both the zoom in and zoom out buttons inside of SexyMap (I usually have them set to Always Off), and when using those to zoom in/out, the minimap zooming matches the standard "5-click" behavior.  Using the mouse wheel gives the "3-click" result while using these settings.  The majority of my minimap buttons are set to display on hover in Sexymap.

I noticed another odd thing while doing this... after turning on the zoom in/out buttons and unchecking "Lock Button Dragging" I was able to drag the "-" button, but NOT the "+" button.

I wanted to let you know about this just in case it might help you.

    Thank you!

Thanks for your very quick response.

Following your suggestions, I was able to determine that my problem was only occuring while using both SexyMap and the MoveAnything-MoP addon.

When I enable both SexyMap and MoveAnything-MoP the minimap zoom works normally if clicking the zoom-in and zoom-out buttons (5 clicks min to max) but zoom has fewer increments when using the mouse scroll wheel (only 3 clicks min to max) to zoom the minimap.

I have posted an inquiry on the MoveAnything-MoP web site ( and will reply here if I learn anything relevant.

    Thank you!

    @ CursedAll2Hell

Like 99% of the issues reported here are caused by conflicts with other addons, so is your issue. My guess is you haven't tried with ONLY SexyMap enabled, and you're probably using some UI compilation that tries to customize the minimap.
