About simpleMinimap

simpleMinimap is a module-centric addon for modifying and personalizing one of the center-pieces of any UI - the minimap. the core simpleMinimap mod has these features...

* left-click and drag the minimap anywhere
* hide and move the default minimap buttons
* zoom in and out with the mousewheel
* adjust the minimap's scale, outdoor alpha and strata
* bind a key to toggle the minimap and/or zoom it full-screen
* type '/smm' for a list of commands

simpleMinimap also comes with several modules. these modules can be disabled and/or the files can be deleted if you don't need or want access to the features. they are located in the simpleMinimap/modules folder...

* Autozoom - automatically zoom-out minimap after delay
* Compass - NSEW markings on the minimap
* Coords - small frame that shows map coordinates
* GUI - dropdown setup menus (default is right-click on minimap)
* Movers - allows movement of UI frames attached to the minimap
* Pings - popup frame that shows the minimap pinger's name
* Skins - allows for changing the minimap's skin (square, corner)

thanks to...

* joev - for the original CleanMinimap
* Davik - for the square minimap skin
* grimman - for the dLx corner skin
* Contusion - for rotating the dLx corner skin

At the time of this posting, this addon is out of date... I've encountered nurmerous perfomance issues, which were resolved by removing all of my outdated mods. I enjoyed using this one. As soon as an update is posted I'll use it again.

This addon is dead. It uses Ace2, which has been discontinued.

After a whole lot of testing and messing with different addons... I've concluded that simpleMinimap was causing a ton of lag for me upon entering combat as of patch 4.1.

An update for this addon would be greatly appreciated.

Guild Instance Difficulty flag isn't shown.

Does it allow you to move buttons from addons around the square?

Is there a way to stop the UI from moving the World Map button from right side of location name bar? Is seems it moves it to place around the MiniMap circle instead of the Location name bar where it originally is?
Just looks weird especially since its not a round circle Map button icon anymore.

Im having the same issue. I accidently dragged the World Map button when trying to open the map and it has attached itself to the Minimap ring, I guess thats what it is. I can drag the button around a small area but it only follows the round minimap ring. I cannot get the button to move back to the location bar where it belongs.

I haven't been able to find an option in either the default interface nor this addon (although I cannot be sure that the addon is intended to have this function) to hide the armor warning image (?) that appears below the minimap (similar to the quest tracking). Is it possible? If so, how? I thank you for your time.

the ping-frame doesn't disappear if you don't ping for yourself
  • #556
Could you describe a little more the issue please?
How to reproduce your issue exactly.
  • #555
    I'll take a look, thanks.

It's strange. If the ping-module is enabled (a little frame at the minimap with the name who pinged) the frame sometimes doesn't disappear but stays until you ping. In the new version it sometimes dissapears and sometimes doesn't.

The function of the coord-modul which hides the coords in instances isn't always working, eg it's still visible at Ony.

I have a simple patch to add the show/hide functionality for the clock here:

    http://loki.0c3.net/~adconrad/smm/simpleMinimap.patch

If you could apply that for the next release, that would probably make a lot of people happy.
