About simpleMinimap

simpleMinimap is a module-centric addon for modifying and personalizing one of the center-pieces of any UI - the minimap. the core simpleMinimap mod has these features...

* left-click and drag the minimap anywhere
* hide and move the default minimap buttons
* zoom in and out with the mousewheel
* adjust the minimap's scale, outdoor alpha and strata
* bind a key to toggle the minimap and/or zoom it full-screen
* type '/smm' for a list of commands 

simpleMinimap also comes with several modules. these modules can be disabled and/or the files can be deleted if you don't need or want access to the features. they are located in the simpleMinimap/modules folder...

* Autozoom - automatically zoom-out minimap after delay
* Compass - NSEW markings on the minimap
* Coords - small frame that shows map coordinates
* GUI - dropdown setup menus (default is right-click on minimap)
* Movers - allows movement of UI frames attached to the minimap
* Pings - popup frame that shows the minimap pinger's name
* Skins - allows for changing the minimap's skin (square, corner)

    Since they always read 0,0 in an instance, can the window just be hidden automatically? Just a suggestion. :)

    • Edit* Okay, I just tried a few flightpaths and it does indeed happen on any flightpath where one of the coordinates reaches 0. For instance, the flight path from IF to Menethil habor: When I got close to Menethil, the coordinates were counting down like this: 54,4 54,3 54,2 54,1 and as soon as it went to 54,0, both coordinates when to 0,0 and wouldn't change until I logged out.

    ya, i see it now. found out you have to call a function when you change zones before you can get coordinates. opening the map will fix it. wasn't happening when i was usign all my mods, so something else was calling the funciton for me (my gues would be MetaMap).

    prolly release a 'final' today unless there's any more issues i need to fix.

    Ok, for the past few versions of SMM, when I set the scale, it would set correctly verticly, but horizontaly, it would span the entire screen. Previously me just deleting the saved variable and restarting WoW would fix this, but this isn't the case with the new version. Yes I deleted all the saved variables per character. And yes, I deleted the old version before putting the new one in the addons folder.

    Also I'm getting errors when I disable and enable minimap buttons. **EDIT** It seems if I move the Minimap and then set the scale it works fine. Not sure what it is, just thought I would let you know. Moving the map also seemed to stop the errors I was getting when disabling and enabling buttons.

    thanks for the great mod, but the alpha settings just worked in v11200-4 or v11200-5 for me.

    first i thought it's a problem wiht butomhole advanced, but disabling the addon does not help.

    would be nice if you can give me an hint about my problem ^^

    PS: my english sux, but i hope you can understand my problem

    anrikus & dwizz, i'm not able to recreate the problems. the alpha is working fine and i am able to scale the minimap before and after moving without any problems.

    for the scaling, i'm not sure what's going on. can you describe the circumstances better?

    for the alpha, it only changes the alpha if you are outside. lowering the alpha inside will cause the minimap to dissapear, so it's locked at 1 then.

    /smm modules gui enable This doesn't seem to work...I had to delete my saved variables to get the mouse clicking to work again. /smm reset didnt fix it either.

    Ok, here is exactly what happened. Every time I would install a new version of SMM, and would try to adjust the scale, The scale would set correctly verticaly, but horrizontaly it would stretch out the minimap to go all the way accross the screen. Prior to the Ace 2 version, simply deleting my saved variables would fix this. But in the latest release it did not. But after messing around with it for a while, I found that just moving the minimap to a different location, and then moving it back prevented this. I don't know if it's just me, but I seem to be the only one having this issue. and it has been every time I updated. I will see if I can get a screeny next time.

    dwizz, seems pretty straight forward. wonder why i'm not able to recreate? does it happen with other mods disabled? the only thing even similar to what you're describing that i've seen is if you move the minimap off the screen then try to rescale it (it does random stuff like covering the whole screen when you do this). but even putting it on the edge doesn't cause it, you need to move the whole frame off-screen. which i imagine you are not doing?

    locked, ya. i didn't bother to really look at the enable/disable code until recently. should be fixed now.

    After updating it is not possible for me to call down the menu by clicking right on the map. Any help? It's also all mixed up.

    Overlay:

    The previous version of SMM worked fine.

    This new one, I like.. but having a problem.. The minimap is staying on top no matter what. For example.. I click on one of my minimap buttons for the menu.. the menu pops up but it is UNDER the minimap and I can't see the options.

    Same deal for my bags. One of my bags opens up directly over top of the minimap. In previous version, the bag would just cover the minimap.. now in this one, the minimap covers the bag and I can't access the items unless I move the minimap.

    Little help?
