About Sinestra Wrack Helper

Sinestra Wrack Helper displays a customizable set of bars that provide an easy-to-see warning as to when Wrack needs to be dispelled off of raid members.

Each bar shows:

  • The player's name
  • The time that wrack has been active on them
  • How much damage the next tick of wrack will do on them.
  • Each bar is also colored based on the time that Wrack has been active on a unit.

Slash commands are /swh, /sinestrawh, and /sinestrawrackhelper

/swh config or /swh options to display the options.

All features of the addon can be configured to look pretty much any way you want.

Performance Statistics:

  • Load Time: 23ms
  • Memory Usage: 83 KB
  • Compatible with AddonLoader
  • Text colors based on health should now properly update when a unit's health changes.
  • Ticks of Wrack that are completely absorbed should now not cause ticks to be skipped.
  • Estimation of next tick damage should be pretty close 98% of the time.
  • Added Power Word: Shield to the list of spells that will be displayed as icons.
  • Added text to display a player's current health.
  • The text displaying the damage of Wrack now shows how much the NEXT tick will do.
  • Texts for health and next tick damage can be colored if the next tick exceeds the player's health.
  • And other minor changes.
  • Removed debug prints
  • Completely overhauled the config mode so that it tries to not break everything in sight when you toggle it on.
  • Initial public release (STILL UNTESTED IN A RAID SETTING).
  • Initial alpha release.

    Attempted a fix in 2.3.1.

After two nights of working on Sinestra, we have noticed that once in a  while SWH misses Wrack on someone.  Twice tonight this happened.  It doesn't seem to be a range issue, as once it was me that was affected with an initial Wrack yet SWH never popped up a bar showing me (or any other helper) the timer on the debuff.

Both times it didn't show someone having Wrack it was on the initial Wrack debuff (ie; with 60 seconds left).  Once it was on the very first Wrack cast during the fight, so it wasn't an issue with a dispel going out on the previous instance of Wrack just as it was being recast.

99% of the time it's an excellent mod that does very well.

Seeing as Sinestra is now 2 tiers old, the only updates this addon will be getting are updates to blizzard changes that break it entirely. I'm aware of the bug where sometimes it doesn't pick up a debuff, but it was extremely elusive throughout the whole time I was working on Sinestra, and the chance of me killing it again and getting the chance to figure out the bug is just about zero.

Can't wait to see what Blizz does with Sinestra when dispels gain an 8-second cooldown.  :P

    Thanks for hearing me out.

I'm thinking about adding this, but the only way that it can happen is if every bar is always shown on your screen all the time during the encounter. (This comment was supposed to be in reply to #2, but the new site blew everything up and now it isn't nested properly anymore.

I think showing all the bars isn't necessarily a bad idea, especially if you can flatten the size of a bar if the person doesn't have Wrack, or even just put it in such a light color that it's virtually invisible or is greyed out.

next-tick. Seems that would be fairly compact.

Well, i think it could work for me, i think that in this way you can reduce the opacity of the bars for the players who dont have the wrack. Yes it will take a lot more space on the screen but im sure it will save a lot of wipes as well =P

Yeah, actually the addon is very much useful, the only "bad" side is that everytime the healers have to check the SWH and then search the player on the raid frames and finally dispell it, so it would be much better if the addon could provide some sort of clickable thing or at least make it compatible with Clique. Anyways good work!

Would be awesome if you clicked on the players name wrack also gets dispelled.

Can confirm in raid setting this does work. Very nicely done!
