About Skada Damage Meter

Skada is a modular damage meter with various viewing modes. It is inspired mainly by Assessment, but also by Recount.

Skada sports segmented fights and detailed views, while being highly efficient with memory. This is accomplished by aggregating data on fight segments.

Skada is entirely modular. The built-in modes can all be toggled on/off.

Features:

  • Automatic mode switching when entering combat. For example, you can have Threat mode be shown in combat. Skada can switch back after combat ends.
  • Specific fight segments can be kept indefinately.
  • Multiple windows. Each window can be configured fully.
  • Threat mode can warn on high threat.
  • Modes: Damage done, DPS, Threat, Enemy damage done, Enemy damage taken, Healing, Overhealing, Total healing, Absorbs estimated, Damage taken, Dispels, Mana regen, Debuff uptimes, and more.
  • Reports can be done everywhere. For example, you can report a certain player's Debuff uptimes.
  • Summary information for most modes (DPS, HPS, Fails, etc) in a LDB view/minimap button.
  • LDB data feed can show personal/raid DPS or personal threat.
  • Support for SharedMedia and Class Colors.

Skada is very easy to extend, and there are many "plug-in" addons out there that add functionality, such as:

Usage:

Navigation in Skada is done by "drilling down" to the information you want. You go to a lower level, showing more detailed information, by clicking on it, and you go to a higher level by right-clicking.

The top level is the list of all saved fight segments. The second level is the list of all available data modes, such as Damage Done. The third level is one of these modes. Most modes let you drill down for further details. Some modes have several detailed views. In this case you choose alternate views by holding certain keys pressed while clicking. For example, in Damage mode, you can Shift-click a player to see what enemies the player caused damage to. Tooltips will display how to reach the different views.

You can also use window buttons for selecting fight segment and mode directly.

Scrolling in Skada is done with the mousewheel.

New Skada windows can be created from the configuration screen. Each window can be separately configured. A popular feature is "Mode switching", which lets Skada automatically switch to a specific mode on entering combat.

"Skada" is Swedish for "Damage".

Fix the killing blow spell label added to the death summary screen in r591
Each deathlog is a circular queue prior to sorting (which for efficiency is intentionally delayed until deathlog:Update()), so on initial display of the summary screen, the prior algorithm was choosing an essentially random damage event from the log for the label.
Also for consistency, ensure we report the KB for the appropriate death, namely the one that is used to time sort the summary screen.
Finally, don't muddy the already-too-long detail title with the spellname, since that information is already obvious in the detail rows.

    Yo, i used to love this addon 'til todays update and i would really appreciate if you could make it possible to just show, when you have the damage/healing frame up that the damage/healing is dondensed and that the dps/hps is detailed. For example: 3.48M(154890.7, 58.2%)

    I would be very grateful if you made this possible again, becasue how it is now is driving me nuts!

    what is the difference between Recound and Skada? why pick Skada over Recount or why pick Recount over Skada?

    I had the same question and did the research and turns out skada is less of a resource hog - all other factors are equal according to this article and a few others

    Would love the following fixes to Skada:

    Menus not timing out as quickly as they do. When you try and select a option to list it gives you only like 2 seconds or so. That should be increased to 7 or something more managable for larger lists. Otherwise you have to open, and quickly select the option. Or the menu goes away.

    While not in combat and trying to look at Skada. If anyone new joins the party/raid .. Skada closes. If Skada notices the player not in combat. This should not close. As I figure it is only doing this to add them. Though if no one is in combat no need to close any menus.

    I'm searching for where to set the default segment in the options, but cannot find anything.  For the first few months I have used Skada, it worked fine, showing the current fight as default, however in the past few weeks it now shows total every time I switch toons/relog/reload.  I've tried reinstalling but got the same results.  It seems like it could be a problem with some other addon switching the default (I don't know if that's possible), but I feel like there must be an option to set the default segment that I'm missing somewhere.  If anyone has any info it'd be much appreciated!

    Same here.  This is beyond irritating.  It stays as current fight on my main but anytime I switch toons or relog other toons it goes back to total damage segment.  Who even cares about total damage?

    It'd be nice when having an open window that tracks "Enemy Damage Taken" to automatically select the first target you hit as the watched one, if you are not already watching a specific unit.

    Some time in the last week my skada has suddenly started defaulting to TOTAL instead of current fight.  I have changed NO settings at all.

    This is very annoying as I am raid leader and keep whining at people for crap dps, only to then be told/realise that I am looking at TOTAL and not CURRENT FIGHT. :P

    Does anyone know how to change this please?  I have tried everything and googled for over an hour.

    Please help,
