About Skada Damage Meter

Skada is a modular damage meter with various viewing modes. It is inspired mainly by Assessment, but also by Recount.

Skada sports segmented fights and detailed views, while being highly efficient with memory. This is accomplished by aggregating data on fight segments.

Skada is entirely modular. The built-in modes can all be toggled on/off.

Features:

  • Automatic mode switching when entering combat. For example, you can have Threat mode be shown in combat. Skada can switch back after combat ends.
  • Specific fight segments can be kept indefinately.
  • Multiple windows. Each window can be configured fully.
  • Threat mode can warn on high threat.
  • Modes: Damage done, DPS, Threat, Enemy damage done, Enemy damage taken, Healing, Overhealing, Total healing, Absorbs estimated, Damage taken, Dispels, Mana regen, Debuff uptimes, and more.
  • Reports can be done everywhere. For example, you can report a certain player's Debuff uptimes.
  • Summary information for most modes (DPS, HPS, Fails, etc) in a LDB view/minimap button.
  • LDB data feed can show personal/raid DPS or personal threat.
  • Support for SharedMedia and Class Colors.
  • Class and role icons.
  • Stop/Resume fight segments to discount irrelevant data.

Skada is very easy to extend, and there are many "plug-in" addons out there that add functionality, such as:

There is a page with API information here.

Usage:

Navigation in Skada is done by "drilling down" to the information you want. You go to a lower level, showing more detailed information, by clicking on it, and you go to a higher level by right-clicking.

The top level is the list of all saved fight segments. The second level is the list of all available data modes, such as Damage Done. The third level is one of these modes. Most modes let you drill down for further details. Some modes have several detailed views. In this case you choose alternate views by holding certain keys pressed while clicking. For example, in Damage mode, you can Shift-click a player to see what enemies the player caused damage to. Tooltips will display how to reach the different views.

You can also use window buttons for selecting fight segment and mode directly.

Scrolling in Skada is done with the mousewheel.

New Skada windows can be created from the configuration screen. Each window can be separately configured. A popular feature is "Mode switching", which lets Skada automatically switch to a specific mode on entering combat.

There is a forum thread for discussion on Skada.
Suggestions and bug reports here. Bug reports in comments will be deleted.

"Skada" is Swedish for "Damage".

Fix Enemy healing module to include enemy HoTs with a nil source unit (eg Cauterizing Bolt on Thogar).
Previously these heals were completely omitted from tracking, now they are shown on Enemy Healing Taken (but we still have no way in general to correctly attribute them for Enemy Healing Done).

They define what counts as being "in-combat" differently. Skada's numbers are more in-line with what you'd see on World of Logs.

  • #1411

hey, can you add a dispels counter?

  • #1406

    2x SkadaHealing-r407\Healing.lua:432: "<name>" expected near "local"

Removing the recently added "local" declaration fixes both errors and restores the two broken modes (Healing and Healing taken).. I don't know why they were added in the first place, you don't declare a variable initialized in a loop as local ever..

Please do not report alpha version errors here.

  • #1405

From time to time, when I try to change my glyphs, the game says that Skada is bloking me from do çing it and needs to be disabled.  How do I fix that?

  • #1408

Its not specific to Skada. I get it all the time with various add ons. Just ignore and /rl and it fixes it.

  • #1402

HOW DO YOU RELOAD IT ??? AS IT'S NOT SHOWING UP IN THE GAME, THOUGH IT IS ON MY CURSE CLIENT AND  IN THE ADDON SECTION OF THE CHAR LOADING SCREEN

    Re: Recording Healing Done?

Hey, am not sure why but Skada has stopped recording any sort of healing for me...not changed any of the configuration settings. (it records everything else)

Any idea what might be causing this? (Get no LUA errors either)

    Cheers.

  • #1400

Hi, thanks for this great addon, just wondering why the 2nd line in skada has its bar pop out of the window often?

  • #1398

I have Skada in the bottom right corner of my screen.  Unfortunately The gryphons on the Blizzard UI cover it.  They didn;t used to cover Recount when I had it.  Is there anyway to resolve this?  I remember there used to be an option to remove the gryphons, but I am unable to find it anymore.  I would prefer Skada on top of the gryphons though.

    THanks

  • #1397

Minor bug:  I keep Skada closed when solo, and the "Hide when solo" option checked.  But every time I take the portal from Stormwind to Jade Forest, it auto opens Skada.

  • #1394

When killing some mobs in the Sumprushes in Townlong, something must've happened to set off Skada and it began tossing continual LUA errors. Looks like it has something to do with the Holy Paladin who was healing, perhaps, or the "Surrounding Mists" buff given in that area. Resetting Skada, and relogging and totally exiting WoW also did not stop these errors, and I think it might just be this location.
