About Skada Damage Meter

Skada is a modular damage meter with various viewing modes. It is inspired mainly by Assessment, but also by Recount.

Skada sports segmented fights and detailed views, while being highly efficient with memory. This is accomplished by aggregating data on fight segments.

Skada is entirely modular. The built-in modes can all be toggled on/off.

  • Automatic mode switching when entering combat. For example, you can have Threat mode be shown in combat. Skada can switch back after combat ends.
  • Specific fight segments can be kept indefinately.
  • Multiple windows. Each window can be configured fully.
  • Threat mode can warn on high threat.
  • Modes: Damage done, DPS, Threat, Enemy damage done, Enemy damage taken, Healing, Overhealing, Total healing, Absorbs estimated, Damage taken, Dispels, Mana regen, Debuff uptimes, and more.
  • Reports can be done everywhere. For example, you can report a certain player's Debuff uptimes.
  • Summary information for most modes (DPS, HPS, Fails, etc) in a LDB view/minimap button.
  • LDB data feed can show personal/raid DPS or personal threat.
  • Support for SharedMedia and Class Colors.
  • Class and role icons.
  • Stop/Resume fight segments to discount irrelevant data.

Skada is very easy to extend, and there are many "plug-in" addons out there that add functionality, such as:

There is a page with API information here.

Navigation in Skada is done by "drilling down" to the information you want. You go to a lower level, showing more detailed information, by clicking on it, and you go to a higher level by right-clicking.

The top level is the list of all saved fight segments. The second level is the list of all available data modes, such as Damage Done. The third level is one of these modes. Most modes let you drill down for further details. Some modes have several detailed views. In this case you choose alternate views by holding certain keys pressed while clicking. For example, in Damage mode, you can Shift-click a player to see what enemies the player caused damage to. Tooltips will display how to reach the different views.

You can also use window buttons for selecting fight segment and mode directly.

Scrolling in Skada is done with the mousewheel.

New Skada windows can be created from the configuration screen. Each window can be separately configured. A popular feature is "Mode switching", which lets Skada automatically switch to a specific mode on entering combat.

There is a forum thread for discussion on Skada.
Suggestions and bug reports here. Bug reports in comments will be deleted.

"Skada" is Swedish for "Damage".

I keep having the same issue:( I must unload Skada most of the time when I swap talents:( I wish so bad I;m not forced to switch to Recount but if this continues, I 'will have to:(

please, please, please ... this bug has been existing since aaaages and is NOT skada related ! it's the intrnal blizzard glyph addon (yes, the original blizzard wow client uses addons) that has a bug, and the internal client watchdog blames some random (!) 3rd party addon for it ... disable skada, wait a couple of days, and you'll see the bug happen again, only to blame some other addon now -.- it's not skada, and moving over to recount won't help ...

I have a Major Bug. My Skada only shows me the Overall Data. even if i turn to current fight it shows the overall. reinstalled it couple time and deleted the daved variable but nothing helps. I don't get any LuA errors.

another issue: the first 5 lines are ok, but the following lines are more and more aut of the skada window.

  • #1416
    Skada CC

we need additional feature to count what CC people are using and who they are using it on.

    coud it be done?

  • #1415

the lines are still going outside their boxes. this seems to be happening the more data (or results) it is displaying once it goes past 4/5 it seems the last one is the disjointed column

  • #1418

    confirmed, same issue here.

  • #1413

Not sure if it's Skada or Recount that's bugged, They're not calculating the same damage on fights etc, 1 of them are not correct atleast. any tips of what it could be?

  • #1419

They define what counts as being "in-combat" differently. Skada's numbers are more in-line with what you'd see on World of Logs.

  • #1411

hey, can you add a dispels counter?

  • #1406

    2x SkadaHealing-r407\Healing.lua:432: "<name>" expected near "local"

Removing the recently added "local" declaration fixes both errors and restores the two broken modes (Healing and Healing taken).. I don't know why they were added in the first place, you don't declare a variable initialized in a loop as local ever..

Please do not report alpha version errors here.

From time to time, when I try to change my glyphs, the game says that Skada is bloking me from do çing it and needs to be disabled.  How do I fix that?

  • #1408

Its not specific to Skada. I get it all the time with various add ons. Just ignore and /rl and it fixes it.

  • #1404
