About Skada Damage Meter

Skada is a modular damage meter with various viewing modes. It is inspired mainly by Assessment, but also by Recount.

Skada sports segmented fights and detailed views, while being highly efficient with memory. This is accomplished by aggregating data on fight segments.

Skada is entirely modular. The built-in modes can all be toggled on/off.


  • Automatic mode switching when entering combat. For example, you can have Threat mode be shown in combat. Skada can switch back after combat ends.
  • Specific fight segments can be kept indefinately.
  • Multiple windows. Each window can be configured fully.
  • Threat mode can warn on high threat.
  • Modes: Damage done, DPS, Threat, Enemy damage done, Enemy damage taken, Healing, Overhealing, Total healing, Absorbs estimated, Damage taken, Dispels, Mana regen, Debuff uptimes, and more.
  • Reports can be done everywhere. For example, you can report a certain player's Debuff uptimes.
  • Summary information for most modes (DPS, HPS, Fails, etc) in a LDB view/minimap button.
  • LDB data feed can show personal/raid DPS or personal threat.
  • Support for SharedMedia and Class Colors.
  • Class and role icons.
  • Stop/Resume fight segments to discount irrelevant data.

Navigation in Skada is done by "drilling down" to the information you want. You go to a lower level, showing more detailed information, by clicking on it, and you go to a higher level by right-clicking.

The top level is the list of all saved fight segments. The second level is the list of all available data modes, such as Damage Done. The third level is one of these modes. Most modes let you drill down for further details. Some modes have several detailed views. In this case you choose alternate views by holding certain keys pressed while clicking. For example, in Damage mode, you can Shift-click a player to see what enemies the player caused damage to. Tooltips will display how to reach the different views.

You can also use window buttons for selecting fight segment and mode directly.

Scrolling in Skada is done with the mousewheel.

New Skada windows can be created from the configuration screen. Each window can be separately configured. A popular feature is "Mode switching", which lets Skada automatically switch to a specific mode on entering combat.

Fix the killing blow spell label added to the death summary screen in r591
Each deathlog is a circular queue prior to sorting (which for efficiency is intentionally delayed until deathlog:Update()), so on initial display of the summary screen, the prior algorithm was choosing an essentially random damage event from the log for the label.
Also for consistency, ensure we report the KB for the appropriate death, namely the one that is used to time sort the summary screen.
Finally, don't muddy the already-too-long detail title with the spellname, since that information is already obvious in the detail rows.

    From the call stack, the set that's being called is "" I didn't realize that didn't get initialized until after you enter combat for the first time after installing Skada (and then it persists in your saved variables, which makes sense why I never got this error).

    I have updated GTFO in the next version to account for this situation.

    Based on the call stack, this is probably a problem in GTFO, not Skada.

    I dont know why but i cant toggle on my skada window... not with the keybinding, not with /skada toggle neither, i can change the config options and everything, but i cant see the window :s

    Guys, donno what u did with it, but till 4.2 it worked flawless. Now i can compare it with recount (no offense to people who actually use recount). I mean, recount have that thing that from time to time it didn't showed up when i got to enter a dungeon while skada never did... till 4.2. Try fix it if it's not to much of a trouble. Cheers and keep up the good work.

    Bump on the Absorbs & Healing problem.

    Skada SEEMS to be accurate for a priest if they are the one running it, but not for other priests in the raid. Someone else's skada was showing my absorbs and healing today on Majordomo at 11-12k while recount showed around 21k. Considering we were pushing scorpion to 12 or 13 stacks its pretty much impossible that skada's 11k is the correct number. Being a discipline priest obviously this makes skada unusable for me and I've switched to recount.. :'( please fix? Recount is ugly.

    Getting a lot of "Unknown" as names for Hunters. It only happens with that class. No LUA errors. Running 1.3-7 and have even tried a clean install (removing skada files from SavedVariables folders).

    Is there any way to hide some frames of skada and not others? Would like to hide 2 frames when healing but have all 4 show when dpsing.

    As of 2 days ago, every time I log off of wow, my Skada resets itself to "Total", instead of "current fight".

    I used to have this problem, No matter how many times I changed it to show "current" it would some how always revert back to "total". If you know anything at all about LUA editing you can change it within the skada LUA file. But please only do that if you know what your doing.

    I remember that my Skada used to show realm names for other players not from my realm. After a break, I updated Skada, and the realm names are gone. How do I re-enable this feature?

    I'm not sure if I'm the only one, but Skada has consistently been giving me incorrect Absorbs and Healing for the two Priests in my group. I know this because the data it is giving is not realistic. With both Priests being Discipline, we both show up on World of Logs within' a reasonable distance, but in Skada it shows some weird things like me doing 1/10th of the Divine Aegis and Prayer of Healing, but online I am usually higher in both categories.

    I'm not sure of how to help you find out what this might be since I'm in mid-raid right now, but hopefully looking over Absorbs and Heals would be appreciated. It seems to be like this for any class that has absorbs included. =(
