About Skada Damage Meter

Skada is a modular damage meter with various viewing modes. It is inspired mainly by Assessment, but also by Recount.

Skada sports segmented fights and detailed views, while being highly efficient with memory. This is accomplished by aggregating data on fight segments.

Skada is entirely modular. The built-in modes can all be toggled on/off.

Features:

  • Automatic mode switching when entering combat. For example, you can have Threat mode be shown in combat. Skada can switch back after combat ends.
  • Specific fight segments can be kept indefinately.
  • Multiple windows. Each window can be configured fully.
  • Threat mode can warn on high threat.
  • Modes: Damage done, DPS, Threat, Enemy damage done, Enemy damage taken, Healing, Overhealing, Total healing, Absorbs estimated, Damage taken, Dispels, Mana regen, Debuff uptimes, and more.
  • Reports can be done everywhere. For example, you can report a certain player's Debuff uptimes.
  • Summary information for most modes (DPS, HPS, Fails, etc) in a LDB view/minimap button.
  • LDB data feed can show personal/raid DPS or personal threat.
  • Support for SharedMedia and Class Colors.

Skada is very easy to extend, and there are many "plug-in" addons out there that add functionality, such as:

Usage:

Navigation in Skada is done by "drilling down" to the information you want. You go to a lower level, showing more detailed information, by clicking on it, and you go to a higher level by right-clicking.

The top level is the list of all saved fight segments. The second level is the list of all available data modes, such as Damage Done. The third level is one of these modes. Most modes let you drill down for further details. Some modes have several detailed views. In this case you choose alternate views by holding certain keys pressed while clicking. For example, in Damage mode, you can Shift-click a player to see what enemies the player caused damage to. Tooltips will display how to reach the different views.

You can also use window buttons for selecting fight segment and mode directly.

Scrolling in Skada is done with the mousewheel.

New Skada windows can be created from the configuration screen. Each window can be separately configured. A popular feature is "Mode switching", which lets Skada automatically switch to a specific mode on entering combat.

    Hello,
    just a small request for the new version.
    I was used to placing the Skada window in the lower corner of the screen, with only "Skada mode" line visible, and dragging it up at the end of the fight or when I needed it. With the new version I can't do that, as the whole skada screen must stay on screen, and can't be pushed partly out of the screen. Can you please add an option for that, or return to the previous showing system?

    An alternative solution: use "Reverse growth" and disable the window lock. Now you should be able to accomplish the same thing by resizing the window temporarily.

    Tried what you suggested, but it's not what I wanted. If I activate reverse growth, the skada windows shows completely on screen, and I can't still push it outside of the screen, like I did before. Window lock was already deactivated.

    Since the new update, I can't get my windows to position properly without a title bar.
    I have to enable the title bar to move the window around, but then when I hide the title, sometimes the damage bars show where the title bar was, sometimes above it, and sometimes below (with no real consistency as far as I can tell).
    Also, when I drag the window resizer and touch the bottom of the screen, the skada window resizes upwards, which is really annoying as I'm trying to fit it into the bottom right corner of my screen - the same happens when you get to the right of the screen, skada resizes to the left.

    Hey there,
    Unless I am blind and/or retarded the option to change the bar texture is no longer available, I was wondering if the option is there and I just can't find it or if it isn't there do you plan on putting it back in?

    (just for clarity I don't mean the title bar textures I mean the bars where the dps data is tracked in the main bit of the window)

    I think you only show a lack of perseverance, because the option is still there and still well hidden. Go to the Skada options, then choose Window - Skada - Bars (names might be slightly inaccurate, because translated back from my locale). There you will find options for changing the textures of _all_ bars. At least my version of Skada still shows them ...

    Previously Skada separated Lightning Bolt and Lightning Bolt from Elemental Overload (and the same for Lava Burst.) Now it combines them together, and combines the damage from the Variable Pulse Lightning Capacitor into a single output of Lightning Bolt. Merging these together pretty much destroys the ability for us to get meaningful data as it wrecks the averages. Would it be possible to revert this change?

    I had to remove 1.3-2 and go back to 1.3-1.

    As someone with multiple level 85 characters the following are my problems:
    1) Lost my previous window locations
    2) Correcting the window positions in a profile did not appear on other characters after using the copy from existing profile
    3) Background on one window changed

    I love the multiple windows in Skada, but if rolling back to 1.3-1 didn't restore my UI I was seriously considering uninstalling Skada. I just didn't want to deal with fixing the problems on multiple windows on every single character.

    I used Skada because it was it's own look. Now you've made it look like Recount. Way to lose your individuality. Might as well just go back to Recount then?
