About Skada Damage Meter

Skada is a modular damage meter with various viewing modes. It is inspired mainly by Assessment, but also by Recount.

Skada sports segmented fights and detailed views, while being highly efficient with memory. This is accomplished by aggregating data on fight segments.

Skada is entirely modular. The built-in modes can all be toggled on/off.


  • Automatic mode switching when entering combat. For example, you can have Threat mode be shown in combat. Skada can switch back after combat ends.
  • Specific fight segments can be kept indefinately.
  • Multiple windows. Each window can be configured fully.
  • Threat mode can warn on high threat.
  • Modes: Damage done, DPS, Threat, Enemy damage done, Enemy damage taken, Healing, Overhealing, Total healing, Absorbs estimated, Damage taken, Dispels, Mana regen, Debuff uptimes, and more.
  • Reports can be done everywhere. For example, you can report a certain player's Debuff uptimes.
  • Summary information for most modes (DPS, HPS, Fails, etc) in a LDB view/minimap button.
  • LDB data feed can show personal/raid DPS or personal threat.
  • Support for SharedMedia and Class Colors.
  • Class and role icons.
  • Stop/Resume fight segments to discount irrelevant data.

Navigation in Skada is done by "drilling down" to the information you want. You go to a lower level, showing more detailed information, by clicking on it, and you go to a higher level by right-clicking.

The top level is the list of all saved fight segments. The second level is the list of all available data modes, such as Damage Done. The third level is one of these modes. Most modes let you drill down for further details. Some modes have several detailed views. In this case you choose alternate views by holding certain keys pressed while clicking. For example, in Damage mode, you can Shift-click a player to see what enemies the player caused damage to. Tooltips will display how to reach the different views.

You can also use window buttons for selecting fight segment and mode directly.

Scrolling in Skada is done with the mousewheel.

New Skada windows can be created from the configuration screen. Each window can be separately configured. A popular feature is "Mode switching", which lets Skada automatically switch to a specific mode on entering combat.

Fix Enemy healing module to include enemy HoTs with a nil source unit (eg Cauterizing Bolt on Thogar).
Previously these heals were completely omitted from tracking, now they are shown on Enemy Healing Taken (but we still have no way in general to correctly attribute them for Enemy Healing Done).

    I know one thing, skada doesn't start recording until the user enters combat--that is, if person A has recount and person B has skada, and person A starts to dps while person B is drinking/far enough away not to enter combat, and then starts to DPS 10 seconds after person A, then the data for that fight will not match up between A and B's respective damage meters.

    What makes you think Recount is accurate?
    Tinydps differs from Skada and Recount too - who is to tell wich one is the accurate?

    Hi, Thanks for cool mod.. been looking for something to replace chatty mem hog in raids - Recount :)

    On my S-priest i use Gnosis.. just isntalled it tonight... and Skada no longer functions... its weird.. no error msg's that i can see.. or pop up.. it just sits there.. and nothing ever shows up... no data is collected... I try and report data in skada.. and it gives me an error.. that the data is = to Nil..

    I understand mods sometimes conflict.. and dont expecyt every mod to play nice... but just curious why or if there's a fix at all.. I dont wanna go back to recount.. rofl..

    Is it because gnosis takes over the cast bar ??.. i tried "showing the blizzard cast bar".. and that didnt work either.

    Is there any way I can change the opacity of the class colored bars?
    I know it draws directly from the RAID_CLASS_COLORS but I don't know how to use LUA to pass it through an opacity filter to make it a different opacity.

    if you're using prat, disable it (inclu. the libraries) and your skada skin texture menu should appear. For some reason it's interfering?

    How can I get a list on how quick someone is to attack a specific mob (more specific the valkyrs in the lich king fight), in a pug someone linked that, is this a hidden feature in skada or is it from another addon?

    For some reason when I turn skada on my Pitbull's bar textures just load a random bar texture, and when I try to change it, it wont.

    Used it and switched back to recount. The reason for me was, that every time I did vanish, and with mutilate I do this often, skada starts a new segment. This means for every boss fight I got 2 or more segments (depending on the duration of the fight) so it becomes useless for me.

    Can Omen's threat meter be replaced by Skada? It would be nice to have a single mod that works just as well and gives Recount/Assessment functionality as well.
