About Skada Damage Meter

Skada is a modular damage meter with various viewing modes. It is inspired mainly by Assessment, but also by Recount.

Skada sports segmented fights and detailed views, while being highly efficient with memory. This is accomplished by aggregating data on fight segments.

Skada is entirely modular; the modes listed below are all separate addons. Only the modes you load adds to the memory and CPU cycles used.

Features:

  • Automatic mode switching when entering combat. For example, you can have Threat mode be shown in combat. Skada can switch back after combat ends.
  • Specific fight segments can be kept indefinately.
  • Multiple windows. Each window can be configured fully.
  • Threat mode can warn on high threat.
  • Modes: Damage done, DPS, Threat, Enemy damage done, Enemy damage taken, Healing, Overhealing, Total healing, Absorbs estimated, Damage taken, Dispels, Mana regen, Debuff uptimes, and more.
  • Reports can be done everywhere. For example, you can report a certain player's Debuff uptimes.
  • Summary information for most modes (DPS, HPS, Fails, etc) in a LDB view/minimap button.
  • LDB data feed can show personal/raid DPS or personal threat.
  • Support for SharedMedia and Class Colors.

Skada is very easy to extend, and there are many "plug-in" addons out there that add functionality, such as:

Usage:

Navigation in Skada is done by "drilling down" to the information you want. You go to a lower level, showing more detailed information, by clicking on it, and you go to a higher level by right-clicking.

The top level is the list of all saved fight segments. The second level is the list of all available data modes, such as Damage Done. The third level is one of these modes. Most modes let you drill down for further details. Some modes have several detailed views. In this case you choose alternate views by holding certain keys pressed while clicking. For example, in Damage mode, you can Shift-click a player to see what enemies the player caused damage to. Tooltips will display how to reach the different views.

You can also use window buttons for selecting fight segment and mode directly.

Scrolling in Skada is done with the mousewheel.

New Skada windows can be created from the configuration screen. Each window can be separately configured. A popular feature is "Mode switching", which lets Skada automatically switch to a specific mode on entering combat.

There is a forum thread for discussion on Skada. All suggestions and bug reports are very welcome.

"Skada" is Swedish for "Damage".

Fix support for Storm, Earth, and Fire

The spirits summoned from Storm, Earth, and Fire have the same name as
their summoner. Therefore we can't ask UnitIsPlayer(playername) in
Skada:FixPets(). Rely instead on the playerflags bitwise operations to
detect guardians.

    Sorry, by current revision I meant the as of yet unreleased version I'm working on. :)

    The most current (development) version can always be found on Curse's sister site, wowace.com.

    Awesome addon. The memory usage is excellent. I'll continue to use Recount but if you decide to implement a "merge pet with owner" option, I'll drop Recount like a bad habit and start using this.

    Pets are merged with their owners. The pet detection is a a work in progress though.

    I like this mod a lot but 1 thing that i cant get past is that it wont merge my fire elemental or some hunter pets with the owner. Is there a way u can merge these?

    I tried it yesterday, it works great! I love the 'fail' mode to quiclky see who stupidly dies on void zone for Sarth3d ;)

    fews things:
    -For the fail bot, could you add the 'overdamage' condition, to check who dies on event? the fail bot register all relevant events, even the not lethals ones

    -Boss are not recognized, at least in french (frFR) i checked the code, i saw you are using the 'worldboss' tag for Uint, it seems in french it's just 'boss'. Maybe you could use BigWigs events to check this, instead?

    Excellent mod. Has already replaced the memory hog that is Recount. Keep up the good work.

    A few suggestions...

    1. The option to display a non-rounded number. (12643 instead of 12.6k)
    2. The ability to report to more than just /say.

    There is an option to display detailed numbers in 1.0-5 (condensed is still the default).

    You can report to guild, raid, party in addition to /say in 1.0-5.

    Liking it so far, fix so we can merge pets with owners and i will dump Recount asap :)

    I have really missed the left/right click functions from Assesment

    Its a handy and easy tool, but i missed an statsbar für dps! Also i would glad too see the classcolor will be supportet

    can u build in an option to lock the window?

    and maybe u can change that the window get fixed size even if there are no bars, so u can click left/right on the frame to switch between the modes etc.

    This mod is a very good news,I am missing Assessment a lot since it's, by far, the best damage meter I have ever seen.
    good luck for the future dev, keep up the good work :)

    few things I would like to see are:
    -segmented damage bar, with color based on damage type
    -the possibility to keep Boss data over trashmob data

    In version 1.0-3 there is an option to only keep boss segments.
