About Skada Damage Meter

Skada is a modular damage meter with various viewing modes. It is inspired mainly by Assessment, but also by Recount.

Skada sports segmented fights and detailed views, while being highly efficient with memory. This is accomplished by aggregating data on fight segments.

Skada is entirely modular; the modes listed below are all separate addons. Only the modes you load adds to the memory and CPU cycles used.

Features:

  • Automatic mode switching when entering combat. For example, you can have Threat mode be shown in combat. Skada can switch back after combat ends.
  • Specific fight segments can be kept indefinately.
  • Multiple windows. Each window can be configured fully.
  • Threat mode can warn on high threat.
  • Modes: Damage done, DPS, Threat, Enemy damage done, Enemy damage taken, Healing, Overhealing, Total healing, Absorbs estimated, Damage taken, Dispels, Mana regen, Debuff uptimes, and more.
  • Reports can be done everywhere. For example, you can report a certain player's Debuff uptimes.
  • Summary information for most modes (DPS, HPS, Fails, etc) in a LDB view/minimap button.
  • LDB data feed can show personal/raid DPS or personal threat.
  • Support for SharedMedia and Class Colors.

Skada is very easy to extend, and there are many "plug-in" addons out there that add functionality, such as:

There is a page with API information here.

Usage:

Navigation in Skada is done by "drilling down" to the information you want. You go to a lower level, showing more detailed information, by clicking on it, and you go to a higher level by right-clicking.

The top level is the list of all saved fight segments. The second level is the list of all available data modes, such as Damage Done. The third level is one of these modes. Most modes let you drill down for further details. Some modes have several detailed views. In this case you choose alternate views by holding certain keys pressed while clicking. For example, in Damage mode, you can Shift-click a player to see what enemies the player caused damage to. Tooltips will display how to reach the different views.

You can also use window buttons for selecting fight segment and mode directly.

Scrolling in Skada is done with the mousewheel.

New Skada windows can be created from the configuration screen. Each window can be separately configured. A popular feature is "Mode switching", which lets Skada automatically switch to a specific mode on entering combat.

There is a forum thread for discussion on Skada. All suggestions and bug reports are very welcome.

"Skada" is Swedish for "Damage".

You can use the "/skada report" command to link more than 10 lines. In the next release the menu will let you link up to 25 lines.

When will pet merge be added? The addon is not very useful without this option.

hi there, thanks for keeping this addon going, its almost exactly what I was looking for as a alternate to Recount. Uses 10 times less memory and its not laggy at all. I only have one problem and its extremly minor but I cant find the soloution. In the background of the metre..when you look at all the numbers, lines and names..there is a faint white shadowy line going accross all the lines...in various positions..cant figure out how to get rid of it..i have it set to "outline" with a black background..i cant stand the changing colours i like it all one colour and that white bar is driving me nuts..any way of getting rid of it?

Hi! Thanks for this addon I love it much more than recount, Just one thing that is bugging me about it is that it keeps changing from Total Damage done to current fight. I have checked the options and I cannot find what I have set wrong. Any hints Thanks!

I'm new to Skada and I really like the extra functionality it has over its rivals, that said there is one feature i'm missing (unless I just can't find it) and that's a breakdown of your dps that is available in recount. for example how much of your dps certain abilities counted for as well as the analysis of each of these - their hit, miss, crit, dodge, parry etc. If these figures are in this addon where are they and if not is it possible to implement them?
  • #221
Click your damage count/summary line and that action will bring up breakdown you are looking for

The "Damage Spell List" for Blood Death Knights is broken by Dancing Rune Weapon. DRW mimics the attacks of the DK and for some reason any attack that is used while DRW is up doesn't show up in the list. The total damage done is still accurate though.

currently I'm missing the blocked dmg as def tank.

should be listed in the absorb module, but it isn't.

maybe it's just a bug and u gonna fix it soon, if not u can take this post as a suggestion.

Makes me very laggy since Tuesday. Disabled for now.

One of the things I really liked about assessment was the ability to show more than one window. Does skada have the ability to do that?

That way I could show healing AND damage, for example
  • #215
Yes. You create new windows from the addon's configuration window.

Hello there! I got a little problem with skada, i cant find where i can disable showing percentage of damage and heal, i need a view like:
(Name) (Number of healed) (HPS, with out percent)

There are now options for enabling/disabling columns in the most relevant modes.

i have been running this addon for a while. i dont really like them. first it says im 4th in DPS on my mage, 2 hunters that arent nearly as geared as i am are beating me. then it says im ahead. i cant resize the window. when i change characters i can see the meter from a raid i did with another character. im told its more accurate, but seeing people telling bugs, about things its not recording. i enjoy recount allot more, easier to read, can resize the screen, and even if it is a little off on DPS, you can still go in and see what your stats on each attack you used during a battle. with this skada.. there is none of that. to me, recount seems allot easier to use, with allot more information. that may be why it takes up more memory to use. because it has more then this little thing does. ill try skada again later when they have added allot more to it, so its more usefull.
  • #213
Just for your information - you can resize the window. It is done from the configuration. You can also see stats on each spell you have; left-click on yourself in the damage meter. Hold SHIFT at the same time to show who/what you damaged. Left-click once more for more detailed information. Right-click to get back to where you were.
