Same here, I get that pretty often with the new version.

Reloading the UI and then start by opening a secondary profession seems to "kick start" Skillet and work for the current session.

  • #680

Yeah, I get the same problem, sometimes.  I got the error today with leatherworking and tailoring and alchemy, but NOT with enchanting.  But basically I get the error and when I open up skillet again, recipes are all gone and it says scan is incomplete but I waited over 15 minutes with alchemy and the scan never finished and recipes never came back.  Is this related to the reagent issue you were speaking about earlier perhaps??

  • #678

    Thanks for the explanation below.

Anyway I had to roll back  242 freezes up solid on scan went back to 241 it is slow but doesnt do the freeze up.

  • #677

My crafting is still outta whack... recipes not all showing, alchemy recipes coming up when I select cooking, etc.

I assume everyone is experiencing this?   Love the addon and will be happy to have it working again!  Keep up the good work:)

  • #676

    Thanks! Much improved performance now.

  • #673

There is still a problem with the latest version. It almost freezes the game every time you open the profession frame or switch between professions when it is open. It is especially bad with professions with a lot of recipes like LW and JC. I have a feeling it has something to do with the ReagentLink workaround. Having Lil Sparkys Workshop also installed makes the problem even worse.

Seems like a re-factor of the code is in order since the Blizzard UI opens instantly. There shouldn't be such a huge penaltly to use Skillet/LSW. They are invaluable but almost unusable in their current state.

  • #675

You are right, there is still performance issue, because blizzard made a bug in one of the API functions, which was used to get reagents. And we have replaced this function with a workaround which is much slower. So right now there is no real solution for the problem, we have only a workaround with worse performance.

  • #674

I also discovered  there are a few issues with the newest version of Skillet.  I was scrolling through my Jewelers list and boom it errors and poof everything but what is currently in the window pain is gone.  Can't scroll anymore either.  Also I noticed a slight lag when changing between professions. Then sometime later i get another error that says You can't do that right now, when I try to re-open my profession window again on my Jeweler character but it also occured on my Alchemist.

  • #672

Is there a way to access skillet without accessing a profession first?  Maybe a mini-map icon?  Command line?  Thanks.

  • #671

    Thank you!

  • #670

I have fixed the issue with memory allocation. Get the newest version ASAP.

Same as everyone else Skillet breaks WoW at the moment.

  • #668

Same as  others, Skillet is killing performance.  I queued 8 bolts of Windwool Cloth and before it could finish, I got the following error:

Message: memory allocation error: block too big
    Time: 03/06/13 18:09:13
    Count: 1
    Stack: [C]: ?
    [C]: ?
    [C]: in function `CreateFrame'
    Interface\AddOns\Skillet\SkilletData.lua:1710: in function `GetReagentLink'
    Interface\AddOns\Skillet\SkilletData.lua:2038: in function `ScanTrade'
    Interface\AddOns\Skillet\SkilletData.lua:1691: in function `RescanTrade'
    Interface\AddOns\Skillet\SkilletData.lua:1575: in function `RescanTrade'
    Interface\AddOns\Skillet\SkilletData.lua:1480: in function `?'
    ...ce\AddOns\Skillet\Libs\AceTimer-3.0\AceTimer-3.0.lua:41: in function <...ce\AddOns\Skillet\Libs\AceTimer-3.0\AceTimer-3.0.lua:36>

Eventually, the game crapped out with (ever increasing count of errors):

Message: memory allocation error: block too big
    Time: 03/06/13 18:10:52
    Count: 1767
    Stack: [C]: ?
    [C]: in function `SetScript'
    Interface\AddOns\Quartz\modules\Tradeskill.lua:63: in function <Interface\AddOns\Quartz\modules\Tradeskill.lua:41>

Could there be a conflict between Skillet and Quartz?

  • #667

I had a nil error for the call to FixedGetTradeSkillReagentItemLink() at 1093. I was able to fix it by moving the function definition before the first reference. I also opened a ticket.

  • #666

Having same issues as others have reported. Upon opening Skillet my game comes to a total freeze, and loosens up after a few seconds. If I then try to craft something, it freezes again.

    Using latest version (2.41)
