FAQ

  • What are the numbers in the middle and how to hide them? - It's the number of craftable items using reagents in your bag, bank, alts. Right+Click on the bag icon to turn them off
  • How to search in the item name only? - Start your search phrase with exclamation mark: !ink
  • How to search in Auction House? - Alt+Click on shopping list
  • How to retrieve items from bank? - Turn on "Display shopping list at banks"
  • How to turn off Skillet temporarily? - Shift+Click your profession button/link. It also works for View All in your Guild Tab.
  • How to use Enchanting Vellum? - Right Click on Process/Create/Create All button. You create only 1 enchanted vellum, repeat to create more
  • How to use auto Milling/Prospecting? - Alt+Click/Right Click on Prospect/Milling icons. You can also create a macro /click SkilletAutoMilling or /click SkilletAutoProspecting
  • How to paste a recipe in the chat? - double click on the recipe list

    ATSW causes frequent freezes and crashes.

    Its better to use the default blizzard trade skill window.
  • #245
    It's preferable to have Skillet, though. ATSW, while nice, doesn't offer the in-depth queuing that Skillet offers. I'd go as far as to say that the only similarity is that they have the double-pane view. Other than that, ATSW is just a sparkly version of the blizzard TSW.

    Dear Author,

    I want to be able to resize my tooltip. because i shrink my UI to the max the tooltip seems to be super tiny. Is there anything i can do to resize this by myself editing the LUA code for the time being?

    Thank you

    Here is a fix for this anoying bug:

    Insert this lines:
    local skill_style_type = {
    ["unknown"] = { r = 1.00, g = 0.00, b = 0.00, level = 5, alttext="???", cstring = "|cffff0000"},
    ["optimal"] = { r = 1.00, g = 0.50, b = 0.25, level = 4, alttext="+++", cstring = "|cffff8040"},
    ["medium"] = { r = 1.00, g = 1.00, b = 0.00, level = 3, alttext="++", cstring = "|cffffff00"},
    ["easy"] = { r = 0.25, g = 0.75, b = 0.25, level = 2, alttext="+", cstring = "|cff40c000"},
    ["trivial"] = { r = 0.50, g = 0.50, b = 0.50, level = 1, alttext="", cstring = "|cff808080"},
    ["header"] = { r = 1.00, g = 0.82, b = 0, level = 0, alttext="", cstring = "|cffffc800"},
    }

    at the beginnig of the file Interface\AddOns\Skillet\UI\MainFrame.lua

    For Example I put it behind this line:
    local SKILLET_REAGENT_MAX_WIDTH = 320

    Does this version work properly with the glypher "get profitable" functions? Glypher creates the list, but clicking the add to skillet button results in "Skillet detected but is not Lilsparky's clone of Skillet". I am using r167
  • #232
    I used this addon like 2 years ago. Now I want it back again, but I cannot get this skillet window to replace my blizzard tradeskill window. Anyone know why this skillet is just not popping up?
    ps. Vennren's solution didn't work for me.
  • #227
    Anyone else not able to get Skillet to work? First time user here and whenever I download it through Curse client or even just manually downloading the file and placing it in my addons folder, it never seems to work. I don't get any errors when my game loads, but the Skillet window never pops up when I open my profession window. It doesn't show up on my Interface window as well (if it is supposed to). Is there a command you're supposed to do to open it?
  • #228
    Download a working skillet from:
    http://www.wowace.com/addons/skillet/repositories/lilsparkys-clone/files/

    Before you install it, go to your wow directory; then go to the "WTF/Account/" directory.
    After that, go to the SavedVariables directory, remove Skillet.lua & Skillet.lua.bak, go back up one directory and go to your realm's directory.
    Go to the character where you used skillet (possibly have to do this for each of them) and then go to that SavedVariables directory, delete the Skillet files here too.

    Directories where you have to delete the files are:
    "WTF/Account//SavedVariables" &
    "WTF/Account////SavedVariables"

    After doing so, install Skillet and it should run and appear in-game.

    I used R167 from http://www.wowace.com/addons/skillet/repositories/lilsparkys-clone/files/ .

    I then had to go to line 1430 and change:

    local color = skill_style_type[skill.difficulty]
    to
    -- local color = skill_style_type[skill.difficulty]

    after that it worked fine.

    The edit indeed works, small thing to add is the location where to edit:

    "Skillet\UI\MainFrame.lua"

    I ended up commenting out 1430 till 1436, the result is this:

    --local color = skill_style_type[skill.difficulty]

    --if (color) then
    -- SkilletTradeskillTooltip:AddLine(skill.name, color.r, color.g, color.b, 0);
    --else
    -- SkilletTradeskillTooltip:AddLine(skill.name, NORMAL_FONT_COLOR.r, NORMAL_FONT_COLOR.g, NORMAL_FONT_COLOR.b, 0);
    --end

    Go forth & fix the lua errors.

    New Ace 2 update 24-06-10 threw my JC side of skillet into a complete meltdown.

    If you are getting errors like this:

    Message: ..\AddOns\somename\somename.lua line 18702:
    attempt to index global 'ChatFrameEditBox' (a nil value)

    Open up the file somename.lua and change ChatFrameEditBox to ChatFrame1EditBox

    This worked for me to fix skillet so I could link recipes to people again.
