About Emoticons

Emoticons replaces common emoticons in chat frames with image emoticons. (This is client side only for obvious reasons)

You can also right click on the ChatFrame Edit box to insert emoticons, and emoticons are parsed in mail messages too.

Thanks to Pazza for the emoticon images.

The settings window is in the Interface > Addons panel, and provides options for disabling emoticons in specific channels, as well as mail parsing, and the 'eye candy' setting.
When Eye Candy is enabled, then emoticons are parsed as you type into the chat frame. (They get turned back into regular text when you send the message because the images can't be sent, so this feature is just 'Eye candy' and is named thusly)

(Note: There may be some issues with Prat preventing the Edit Box Right-Click menu from appearing)

It's back. It's been a while since it was updated, but now it's been rewritten for WoW 4.0, enjoy.

    Does this add-on still work?
I downloaded it yesterday, and quickly found out that when this addon is enabled, no chat appears. I do use Prat 3.0 , maybe they cant work together?

I slightly tweaked my copy of this, an removed the stuff that sometimes can bring up errors about WIM (it calls some function called smilies_plugwim() which from what I can tell doesn't exist neither in WIM nor Smilies so removed it to stop it moaning) and also added some code for the newer chat channels and other things.

Seems to work fine still in 3.3.5a. If required I can sort out and upload somewhere, or email it, etc.

    Can anyone els see it???

I'm aware of the tradeskill issues, i put a note on the file, but doesn't appear curse displays a file's known caveats.

I've avoided using the same method as WIM because as smilies processes ALL chat, it might end up generating a lot of garbage. However i'm running out of options so it might end up being like that anyway

Currently breaks Tradeskill linking needs to be a filter like wim uses to parse out |Htrade links.

I get this when trying to send or recieve skill links.

I believe it is caused by the parsing turning it into standard text because somewhere in there is a smile it needs to make into an icon.
