About Sniff-B-Gone

This is a quick mod to remove the sniffing sound that worgen do. If you like the noise good for you. Personally it annoys the ever living crud out of me.

How it works

It places empty sound files for those noises in to the Data folder that override the defaults. It removes the sound for males and females and should work on NPCs as well.

How to install

Simply extract the zip in to your World of Warcraft folder. Directory structure must be maintained for this to work. It does NOT go in the Interface folder

It installs in to <WoW Install>\Data\Sound\Creature\worgen<male & female>

Do not use the Curse Client. Since this does not go in to the Interface folder the Curse Client will not work.

v1.2

Changed file extension from .wav to .ogg for compatibility with latest patch

v1.1

Reduced the filesize cuz the wasted 4kb per file annoyed me.

v1.0

Initial Release. Should work.

The addon puts 'empty' sound files into the Data directory to remove the worgen snorts. Extract the file he gives into the \World of Warcraft\ directory. Preserving the directory structure in this case will install the files into Data\Sound\Creature\worgen\ with three versions of snorts being nuked in each sex's directory. Files positioned in this way will override the sound files normally found [probably in some .mpq file somewhere].

That being said, I'd like to know how to find sound file to override... all hunter cats and druid cat-form cats now all seem to make that annoying moaning-followed-by-slurping sound.

WoW model viewer will search through the sounds as well. You don't actually need the file to mod, just the file name and directory structure then you can stick in whatever you like.

Or just play Balance like all real Druids should. Feral is for pussies. Get it? Pussies? Feral? Thanks I'll be performing at the Holiday Inn lobby all week.

Interesting idea, I'd like to make my water elemental stop gurgling. Anyway, I tried to install it with curse client, but when I click the button, the client fires up like it is trying to do something, but the addon never appears in my installed directory. I downloaded the file manually, but there is no readme, etc..
Noted that "Directory structure must be maintained for this to work. It does NOT go in the Interface folder" however, I can't seem to find a similar directory anywhere on my computer. At this point I'm ready to ask for help. :-)

Leigheas explained it pretty thoroughly (thanks). Just extract the "Data" folder in to your main World of Warcraft folder. You might get a popup saying that folder already exists, would you like to merge. If you do then click Yes or Ok or whatever your system prefers and this will install it.

You will have the Data folder already however you will not have the Sound, Creature, worgenfemale, or worgenmale folders. Those are new.

As for Water Elemental, here you go:

Not done by me but it is done in an identical method as mine.

Thank GOD! I love my worgen, and I look like a dog, and I walk like a dog, but I don't have to smell like a dog...
