About SpartanUI

SpartanUI

Is designed to free your screen by moving a majority of the interface elements to the bottom. It is the new look for World of Warcraft. Originally Created by Ansu of Dalaran (aka Atriace) it is now managed and maintained by Libidos of Azgalor. You can now join the project on facebook where i will be posting polls and asking other general questions about the direction of the addon.

Required Addons

Installation Note

Disable oUF if you have it installed, This is a addon library used for unit frames SpartanUI has this built in and having a version not compatible with SpartanUI will break things.

F.A.Q

Q. How do i Move my focus/party/raid?

A. As of 3.1 All frames are now movable by holding Alt and dragging no need to unlock or lock them with a command or button.

Q. I changed a option but nothing changed.

A. Some of the new options in 3.1 for Raid/Party Frames require a /reload to be done after changing them, no it will not always be like this but in order to get it out in time for MOP launch day some convenience had to be sacrificed.

Slash Commands

  • /sui (Shows options window)
  • /spin (Toggles Spin Cam)
  • /sui version (Shows which version of SpartanUI you are using)

Features

  • Uses very little third-party code in an effort to remain self-contained
  • Almost zero-setup allows you to install and use it without tons of configuration
  • Support for almost any screen resolution, while favoring widescreen
  • SpinCam - provides a spinning camera effect when AFK
  • FilmEffects - which provide film-like grain effects on your screen
  • Party frames designed to go with the look and style of your player frames
  • Designed to use very little processor time or memory
  • All original artwork with high-res textures and 1:1 ratio for 30" displays
  • Built in reputation and experience bars
  • Integrated coordinates and zone information
  • UnitFrames that fit in with the overall design
  • Profiles - with options being rewrote SpartanUI will now support profiles
  • Minimal slash commands
  • Raid frames with healer mode and DPS mode. One focuses on a quick overview while healer mode will draw attention to those low on health and larger frames than in dps mode
  • Focus Fame and focus Target have been redesigned and are movable
  • All frames are now movable by holding Alt and dragging.

Updated translations. fixes for mini map

The pics on the site are from 2009 blizard has since changed ALOT at this time i am focusing on redoing player and party frames and adding raid frames. also adding some customization options that kept some people away. Chat may be done in the future but for now i highly recommend Prat.

You might wanna check out Chatter and nibChatTabs as well, you can only get nibChatTabs on wowinterface.com though, I believe.

Those 2 with Prat 3.0, will give you some pretty sweet chat box, with lots of features. I personally don't need all those extra features so I don't use Prat 3.0, but I do use Chatter and nibChatTabs with SpartanUI. I also use various other addons to skin things that this does not, to make it a full complete UI, which it never has been.

Haha! I just noticed this post from a few days ago. It's all their fault. :P

"I just picked SpartanUI up as part of my MoP UI overhaul and I'm very happy with it already! However, I realized health bars are not colored based on remaining health left (red-yellow-green). I didn't find an option to turn it on, either. Maybe this would be a sensible addition to the unit frames?

Thanks a lot for the hard work you put into this addon!"

The option to control this on a frame by frame basis will be in 3.1

Hi, Just wanted to say THANK YOU VERY MUCH for all these great updates to this addon that you have been doing. I've been using this ui for 4 years or so and think its the easiest and best ui out there. So glad to see it being updated so regularly now.

One thing I noticed after updating to the lastest version this morning is now my health bar changes colors depending on how injured my character is. I really like this addition but unfortunately the enemy health bars are doing the same thing. I looked all over and I dont see anywhere that this can be turned on/off. I mostly do alot of pvp on all my toons and its tough to make sure I have enemy players targeted now....lol. Spartanui never did change the colors of the bars before so hopefully this can be corrected. Again, thanks for all the hard work you have been doing on this. :)

ok there is a problem with the Vehiclebar (one that shows only the dismount button). when you move it just once it gets repositioned in a different place and the only way to fix it is to delete the bartender saved settings in the wtf folder. the other bars do the same thing when you reposition them. when spartan ui is disabled this problem doesnt happen

Is the menu for the bags and other stuff ment to be under the spartanui unless yu go to that part the bags appear?

  • #896

Yes since you dont need it often and most people just the key B it hides it until you put your mouse there. you can turn this off in the options if you want

Make sure Bartender4  is updated and that you are using the updated realease of spartanui at the moment it's v3.0.5a.

Disable oUF if you have it installed, This is a addon library used for unit frames SpartanUI has this built in and having a version not compatible with SpartanUI will break things.

Go into Bartender options and click Hide blizzard art.

If none of the above works then try to uninstall the UI completely and reinstall.

  • #889

"Go into Bartender options and click Hide blizzard art. "  - You should not have to do this it should be auto configured by SpartanUI to do this for you

Every thing else she said is correct.

  • #885

Works great until I mouse over my bags or any item near the hot bar area.  Tried uninstalling my useless addons.  Tried to toggle the settings to make the addon not so overbearing.  Nothing worked.  My game lagging for about 45 seconds to 1 minute.  hopefully this changes in a future update.
