About sRaidFrames

sRaidFrames was originally designed to replace the raid frames provided by CT_RaidAssist. They share the same look and feel of the original frames, but are highly optimized and even include extra features such as aggro highlighting and display of PVE critical abilities. The main goal of sRaidFrames is to be just that, frames, nothing more; they do not deliver any other magic that you might know from CT_RaidAssist. This includes Decursing, Bossmods, Raid Status and Emergency Monitor. By not including these features, sRaidFrames will allow anyone the freedom to use whatever mod, if any, they prefer to do the above tasks. Currently the frames provide a massive improvement in not only memory, but also FPS during raids, combined with oRA2 they are designed to help anyone completely replace CT_RaidAssist. There is also a number of plugins that extend sRaidFrames' functionality:
  • sRaidFrames_Advanced - this adds custom layouts, advanced filtering and much more Please note this project is no-longer actively maintained, if anyone wants to take over, please don't hesitate get in touch.

    Sraidframes

    I've been using this addon for years. I've tried every raid frames addon out there and it is above and beyond the best out there.

    I have one issue, which has finally gotten to the point where I broke down and finally decide to post. I play a resto druid. Since MOP came out whenever symbiosis is used the raid frames fade out (as if everyone is out of range) and I have to reload ui to get it to show properly. Well since 5.2 was released it now happens whenever you die and zone back into the raid instance. It doesn't happen every time you zone in, but I'll say it happens about 70% of the time. Not sure if this is all related to the symbiosis issue I mentioned above. I did however notice when I was playing balance instead of resto during a raid (rarely ever happens) whenever I hit eclipse it would toggle the raid frames to all fade out to all working properly throught encounters. Hopefully this information helps you. It doesn't really bug me when playing balance I just figured I would throw that in there to help you localize the issue.

    Any type of fix you have for this would greatly be appreciated and please keep up the great work.

    Warm Regards

    Try the latest alpha, as it happens I committed some small changes that might help with the range checker issues.

  • #411

    That seems to have helped. Thanks so much for your promptness, you are amazing!!

    I was going through the logs for some addons I maintain an I noticed and error generated by SRF.

    The SRF TOC lists LibResInfo-1.0.lua as being in \libs\LibResInfo-1.0 where it's actually in \libs\LibResInfo-1.0\LibResInfo-1.0

    Not a big one as the LibResInfo-1.0.toc loads it from the correct place.

    Thank you for keeping this much loved addon going.

    I was pretty sure I fixed that before release on the .pkgmeta side.

    I'll have to take another look.

    Edit: Fixed in r760 alpha

    I still have some little troubles with the debuff displays (german version, v754 and also v758)

    I can debuff magic and disease and i want, that is just see these kind of debuffs (i took that option in the sraidframes options menu) but i still can see also curse and poison debuffs also.

    sometimes, but just sometines, the debuff information on the player icons are permanent. its not getting deleted after its expired. if this happens, also dead players are not shown as dead. i can fix this only with a refresh click after the fight.

    thats the only problems i detected. all other features working perfect.

    Are you a priest by any chance? Mass dispel removes all the types of debuffs in WoW 5.x and sRF takes this into account since it's a base ability after lvl 72 if you're a high level priest it will count you as able to remove all 4 types. I understand this can be somewhat confusing as mass dispel doesn't have the same "mechanism of delivering the cure" on units but instead on an area I don't have an idea how to differentiate though.

    Debuff icons getting 'stuck' sounds strange since the refresh happens on UNIT_AURA events. Are vehicle fights involved by any chance?

    Yay. No other raid frame mod gets things just right like sraid.

    Thank you so much Dridzt. With the new r756 version all works fine. I have a range check and the dead people are displayed as dead. Thank you so much to continue and fix this wonderfull addon.

  • #403

    Heh, did it for nostalgia. Embarassed

    (Used this for 2 expansions tail end of vanilla and all of BC, part of wrath).

    Details might need tweaking but at least now it's not relying on broken / half-fixed / fan fixed / abandoned libraries; WoW API is for the most part current as well.

    Should be easier to maintain going forward.

  • #401

    I did a couple commits (with a bunch of updates) that should be actually working Tongue out

    Full details at the alpha changelog.

    If it tests out ok, a couple phrases need to be added to the Localization App and minor edits to the addon where I've temporarily used hardcoded strings before a beta/release can be packaged.

    *edit* I think I can reproduce with the excellent information provided by chudabega in this comment: http://www.curse.com/addons/wow/sraidframes#c389

    For now just turn off "frequent health updates" and I think you'll be OK.  I'm incorporating his research/fixes now.

    ~~~~~ original comment ~~~~~
    Hrm I was able to get it to work in Stormwind just trying it between some friend I invited to raid (same for checking death/online status).  I get the feeling that something is messing with it after a while though.  Did it not work right away upon load.  Did you get any LUA errors?
    http://www.curse.com/addons/wow/bugsack will save off the LUA errors so you can access them with more info/full stack trace.  I won't be able to play today but I can do fixes tonight if I can get a good reproducible case down.
    tnx for the update, but the very important range check still not work
  • #398
    I've finally got around to getting my SVN account working with wowace...So now I've applied all the patches to the underlying libraries.  It seems to be working for me pretty well now.  No LUA errors and range-check and offline/dead status are working (whereas before the library updates in my raid this week they were not).
    I've made a dummy checkin to sRaidFrames to grab the new libs and in wowace you'll see the new built version 754 here: http://www.wowace.com/addons/sraidframes/files/1086-r754/  Look to the filename link on the right of the page.
    @tomsommer I'm assuming you have to promote it from Alpha status to release for curse to pick it up as the new version.  Try it out people and let me know if anything's broken.
    Will this be fixed/updated soon?
