About Tell Track

Quickly and easily view and manage whispers form multiple people using simple threaded discussions using the normal chat interface.

Works with FuBar, Titan Panel and CT Mod for easy access menus, and yes now has a minimap icon if no fubar or Titan installed, and a now hide/show feature for the icon, /telltack hide. 

Chat commands:
 /tt              - Hide or show to/from list
 /tt clearall     - Clears all to/from entries
 /tt invert       - Inverts the to/from list
 /tt dontsavelist - Don't save the to/from list
 /tt autocreate   - Auto-create thread new tabs
 /tt hidewhispers - Hide whispers in all other chat tabs
 /tt timestamps   - Print time stamps on messages
 /tt whisperfirst - Click opens whisper then thread tab
 /tt showall      - Show all whispers
 /tt linenums     - Show player line numbers
 /tt hide         - Hide the application icon 
 /tt debug      - Enable debug mode

Curse site release updates are working normally again. Raid Tracker, Hellbender DKP, Tell Track, AddOn Studio. Use links to get files same as before. Enjoy.

    Well.... it looks like we passed 50k downloads for TellTrack (and 200k for RaidTracker). I wonder what Karl would think now. ;) 50k isnt much anymore for top tier mods, but is a testiment to a great idea that still has teeth, even today.

    TellTrack has been around since almost the beginning.. back in the days of the hight of things like Cosmos, FriendsFacts, and CT_RaidFrames, and before there was much of an AceLib. If you want a trip down memory lane goto http://www.wowwiki.com/User:KarlKFI and youll see what I mean. So a special thanks to Karl, Cide, and the rest who were ambitious in things that woudlnt directly make them money and for their spirit in taking chances on ideas that were abou having fun, in a way thats hopefully still out there...

    I'm happy to keep these alive and working. It wasn't trivial, but is worth far more than the effort I put in. :) If you know of a worth while addon, that you think has been lost, let me know.... Ive got my eye on GarbageFu... the replacements dont seem to work very well... and since FuBar is dead, maybe theres a calling.

    Yeah, i got Hellbender functioning again, and top priority was RT, but TellTrack is goig to need some work. I did get it basically 4.0 compliant in the general sense but havnt gone through all the chat frame hook changes inhe blizzard chat UI. which will takea good deal of work. They did a lot of things that in theory shoudl make TT irrelivant, but they missed the core idea. The at a glance menu which most IM systems outside of wow still havent done. It was an awsome idea.

    I miss this addon incredibly. The only thing I've found that comes close is Cellular, but I keep hoping that someday this gets updated, or something like it comes to life.

    Would LOVE to see it back in Cata! Please, please please?

    LONG-time user of this mod and I must say it's just fantastic. Lately, I've been playing around with stuff like kg panels and other UI artwork and I've come to the conclusion that TT doesn't really fit very well into that kind of art scheme. Are there any plans, some day when you're bored, to change the look of TT? Perhaps the background color, frame alpha, border size? No big deal of course.. great mod and I will somehow find a way to integrate it, I am sure.... just was curious if that was on the menu or not.

    Yeah I know. :) There is a lot of charm also in TT beign jsut the way it is, nuances that make the magic it is. There is a request comment below that I made askign for comments on UI updates and features.

    From the 2.2.36 release notes:

    - update for 3.3.0
    - added toggle border to right click menu
    - added toggle linenums to menu
    - added linenums command line option to display number next to player name for list order
    - added showall command line option to display all whispers from all players in the whisper frame
    - fix missing .pkgmeta libs

    - now allows for a list of 30 instead of 20
    - made the /tt not override any existing /tt slash command
    - can use the /ttrack short form, which has always existed
    - better support for utf8 chars, non english names and messages
    - scroll position is now saved
    - resize will keep the last tell player visible

    - fixed nil error on logon
    - lots of rough edges taken off
    - fixed many issues due to being out of date with current UI code
    - reworked hooks for chat so matches current blizzard UI
    - fixed and separated window help and command help
    - chat tab now shows correct name instead of TellTrack anytime clicked
    - timestamps work correctly now, many many things wrong
    - timestamps will show server time and H:M:S now
    - fixed error on remove chat thread tab via the WoW UI
    - rewrote all FCF hook functions to be more correct, safer and faster
    - fixed and updated AddMessage hooks to include correct parameters
    - removed old deprecated TEXT dependency
    - removed Sea hook code
    - removed chat print for enable/disable tell track
    - turned on AutoCreate for thread chat tab by default
    - removed Tell Track Print
    - rewrote chat thread tab startup and tear down
    - added /tt as option for commands, in-line with other apps for two letter commands
    - short chat command string is replaceable via .toc if needs to be changed in the wild
    - and more

    looks great now! :)


    Here's something I noticed that's kinda odd - scrolling.
    If I set it so that 1. is at the top of the list of whispers, you would think that to get back up to the top of the list, you scroll up. In fact, you have to scroll down to get back to the top.

    If I invert the list so 1. is at the bottom, I have to scroll UP to see it.

    Otherwise, it looks like everything is fixed :) though I'm a noob and can't find any right-click menu.

    yes scrolling has always been that way with TT. up is up down is down. for soem reason karl or his compadres made it that way a long time ago, and i dont want to "fix" it as its part of how it works and people are used to.

    its a matter of perspectiove if its more correct. they way they did it is liek dragging the list up and down, rather than meanign go to bottom ot top.

    using .34, I can see the list, but for some reason it only populates the top line. I see 1 name at the top, then the rest of the lines are blank. If i try to scroll, the top most bar runs through the names, but I can't see more than 1 at a time..
