About ThereIsNoCost

This addon hides the reagent number on action buttons when you have a glyph that removes reagent requirement.

Please refer to Bartender4-ThereIsNoCost for a Bartender compatible version.

- Updated ToC number.

Damn comment threading making them not visible in "recent comments"... anyway, thanks Farmbuyer! Too bad it couldn't work as is, though.
  • #4
Hmm, it works for me. Are you using any action bar mod?
  • #5
I use Bartender if that helps.

And it most definitely does not work for me. I triple-checked to make sure that it is loading. It is, but for whatever reason it is still displaying 0 over my levitate spell (even though I have the glyph). There is no discernible error message.

I'm happy to give you a complete list of my addons if you'd like.

Have you always used Bartender? And did it work with Bartender before the patch? Either way, I'm afraid this addon isn't really designed to work with custom action bar mods.
  • #8
Yes, I have been using Bartender for well over a year and ThereIsNoCost has always worked fine with it.

Thanks for looking into the issue, Farmbuyer. Hopefully the Bartender folks will be able to solve the issue on their end.

I've been debugging this just today. Like Vaugn2, I also use Bartender and am still seeing 0 displayed on a glyphed Levitate. I've traced it down to Bartender4 (actually LibActionButton, which BT4 uses) restoring the 0 consumable count after ThereIsNoCost has already cleared it.

I'll ping the LAB authors and see what can be done.

"I have some good news and I have some other news."

There is no way to make TINC work with the rewritten Bartender4. They take completely different and incompatible approaches to button handling. Neither one counts as "broken", they're just coming from two different directions. As L'ombra said above, TINC isn't designed for that.

The good news is that doing something similar specifically for Bartender4-style buttons is not hard at all. I'm testing a version now with a few different alts. The amount of code is about the same as TINC, so rather than doubling TINC's size and then only using half of the shipped files, I'm implementing it as standalone.

If you're using Bartender4, try this:
    http://www.wowace.com/addons/bt4-tinc/

Let me know via forum PM or whatever how it works for you. If there are bugs, I'll fix them. If it's stable, I'll mark it as such and it'll start showing up on Curse and the curse client.

If you are NOT using Bartender, then keep using the normal ThereIsNoCost!

The new version works perfectly with Bartender. Thank you very much.

Sure! I love this addon too, but I hadn't even noticed it's not working. =)

Any chance you'll be able to update this for 4.01? It is no longer working and I have always enjoyed removing the "0" from my levitate spell.

Just curious why this would chew up so much CPU as it does.

Currently taking up almost 50% of my overall used CPU cycles from every addon I have while raiding.
