About ThreeRuneBars

This addon is made for tracking Death Knights Runes, Runic Power, Horn of Winter, and the two primary diseases Frost Fever and Blood Plague. Each object being tracked is a submodule and can be easily disabled in the options menu.

The difference between this addon and other Rune tracking addons (I have found) is that this addon treat each 2 runes of the same type as one Energy like bar that will always fill from left to right regardless of which rune is active. When it's at the middle one rune is ready (there is a mark for separating the runes in each bar)

  • /trb (or /threerunebars) - This will unlock/lock the frames so you can move them and place them where you want them.
  • /trb config - Open the interface options menu

v1.0.3 Added a new module base to make it easier to create configuration panels for my modules. The addon now have three modules Runes, Runic Power and Diseases and they can all be scaled and Enabled/disabled separately.

v1.0.4 Added OOC Fading and Rune order configuration.

v5.1.1 Added ability to change bar textures. This has an optional dependency on the shared media library in order to retrieve the optional bar textures. If you have some of the more popular addons that include this library, then you will have plenty of bar textures to choose. Find the drop down in the options menu.

v5.4 Support for version 5.4

v6.0.0 Support for Warlords of Draenor

v6.0.4 Added support for Necrotic Plague. The addon will check if you have that talent selected (and when you change specs) and show the appropriate disease bar.

    I absolutely love this addon for my rune management - can't imagine being half the tank I am without it.

    However, one small concern - is there any way that you can indicate which Blood Rune will be activated/converted on using Blood Tap? I find that it's pure guesswork as to whether I'll activate the rune that's fully on-cooldown or the one that's already got a few seconds off of its cooldown (or, worse, a blood rune I already have totally off-cooldown!).

    Could you possibly include this as another module, with perhaps a small highlight on whichever blood rune would be chosen?

    Like the layouts you use, but I wonder if you could lower the strata of the rune display to the level of unit frames. Currently the mod hovers over almost everything else in the game (map, quest log)

    I will look into this.
    My runebars doesn't get above my map (But I'm using Mapster). And I have that high framestrata because it will get behind Blizzards "Power Aura" graphics. Not a problem if you place the stuff on a location where Blizzads graphics wont cover them.

    I have implemented (not yet uploaded) so it will change Frame strata when entering/leaving combat, this will reduce some of the problems when out of combat.

    There are two small but extremely irritating bugs that are making me consider changing addons. However, I love the way this addon displays runes, so if you could fix it, I'd greatly appreciate it!

    The first is that the addon does not seem to save the scale of the rune and runic power bars about 50% of the time.

    The second is that the addon does not seem to save the OOC transparency about 50% of the time.

    I have no idea what prompts it remembering or not remembering the OOC transparency and scale of the bar settings.

    I'm rewriting the way my variables is used when the addon is loaded. This will most likely fix all problems with variables not saved.

    Still getting the scale factor reset seemingly randomly on log outs.  Any update on this being fixed?

    Great addon :)

    1 small bug I've noticed is if you change the runes order, the "flash" effect appears on the wrong bars when a rune comes off cooldown.

    I was wondering if it is possible to make the bar on the right side clear or faded while the bar on the left is charging, to show that there in fact is not a rune waiting to be used while both are on cooldown.

    This is something I prefer as well, its much easier to at a glance see which are at 'max energy' and need to be spent asap.

    To do so go to World of Warcraft\Interface\AddOns\ThreeRuneBars and open the file TRB_Runes.lua in a plain text editor such as notepad. Go to line 150 or press ctrl-F and type 'runebar to' and hit enter. The first place it takes you is line 148. line 150 looks like this:

    if( (v or 1)

    we're going to break it so it's always false and the background is always transparent regardless, so change it to:

    if( 1

    Save, exit, /reload ui or start up wow and away you go.

    To the author, ty for a clean simple addon.

    Edit, or rather can't see an edit button. If you want to still be able to see whether its a death rune or not still, but not have the background as bright, try changing the 0.5 on the next line (151) to something lower like 0.2 instead (and revert the change on the previous line).

    I've just jumped on my DK for the first time after the patch and came and grabbed TRB, still not tried him in the wild, just 15 mins playing with lua and sitting on a dummy.

    I'm having the same problem as fkoehl, but only my disease bars are keeping reseting when I log out and back in. Tried deleting the .lua, didn't work.
