About Titan Panel [Wintergrasp]

NOTE: This project is obsoleted by Titan Panel [PvP] now. Additional functionality will be contained in Titan Panel [SaveInfo]

Adds a Wintergrasp timer to TitanPanel and provides some other information about Wintergrasp in its tooltip.

Features

  • Adds a timer to TitanPanel, coloured to denote which faction controls WG (green if yours, red if not)
  • Records save information for VoA for all of a player's characters, even across realms, that use the addon
  • Allows a user to broadcast the time to a selected channel
  • Allows a user to auto-announce a 15 minute warning to guild, trade, and/or yourself
  • Uses a variety of methods to provide accurate estimates when the actual time information is not available
  • Communicates with other addon users on your server to synchronize
  • Designed to be very lightweight; ie, it uses very little CPU and has a small memory footprint

FAQ

Q: Does TitanWG have any dependencies, other than TitanPanel itself?

No.

Q: Do you have to go to Dalaran in order to update the addon's status?

No.

Q: Does TitanWG make use of other WG addons if they're present?

No.

Q: How do I report a bug or request a feature?

Please use the ticketing system provided by Curse. This is greatly preferable to posting comments as it allows me to properly track them. While I love to receive comments, bug reports and feature requests will almost certainly require a ticket anyhow.

Q: Does TitanWG support any language other than English?

Currently, translations exist for German, Spanish, Russian, and French. (Thanks to Gomntep, LigthSora, StingerSoft, and Alain for providing those.)

    No, it's only dependency is Titan. This addon does not require or rely on the presence of anything other than Titan.

    Do you see TitanWG in the Titan menu under the 'General' submenu?

    If not, then there is likely an issue with loading it, though I don't know what; at least, while writing it the times it would disappear from that submenu were when I had messed something up that for some reason doesn't cause an error to be shown in WoW. (I find that sometimes Swatter will catch errors that would otherwise get smothered by WoW.)

    Either way, I'm not sure why it wouldn't be showing up, especially if it is in the submenu and selected -- that's just odd. Are you running in a language other than English? Or, maybe there's a negative interaction with another addon. The latest version (0.0.3.1) is running on all of my toons and those of at least three of my friends successfully.

    I'm going to post a version 0.0.4, probably tonight, which will have a bunch of refactoring done to it. Since the resulting code will be cleaner, it may clear up any undesired interactions with other addons.

    FWIW, I have a dev toon on which I only enable Titan and TitanWG. That might be worth a try if you feel like it.

    i got it working. i guess when your in stormwind it doesnt pick up right away or something cause it kept saying "WG: ??". also is there any way to make this so you can post the time in trade or guild chat?

    I added your issue to the FAQ and your feature to my list of upcoming enhancements. I should be able to add it for the next update, likely 0.0.5.

    Q: Why do I only see "WG: ???"?

    A: This is likely because when you logged in you weren't in Northrend and you haven't been to Northrend during this session. The Blizzard API function that the addon relies upon only works when you're in Northrend. I have code that will estimate the time once you leave Northrend but you have to have been there at some point to begin with.
