About TranqShotMonitor

This addon is a useful tool for hunters, although usable by rogues and druids as well. Due to the patch 4.0.1 changes to Tranquilizing Shot (focus cost and cooldown removal) you can use tranquilizing shot multiple times. That isn't useful for example if you use a macro to dispell enrage from your focus target, as you won't know for sure whether it's been dispelled. This addon will notify you when your Tranquilizing Shot dispells a buff and it will also say which buff has been dispelled. Works for rogue's Shiv and druid's Soothe as well.

You can alert your fellow raiders/arena players/etc what you dispelled via chat channels. This functionality can be enabled with /commands or with the brandnew options interface in version 2.0 Added in version 2.2: If checked in options, when announcing in channels you have the option to let the addon automatically choose the channel to announce based on what type of group you are in (battleground/arena, party, raid or solo (/say)).

You can turn the functionality on and off ingame with slash commands:

  • /tsm enable
  • /tsm disable
  • /tsm channel enable
  • /tsm channel disable
  • /tsm setchannel <channel name> e.g. /tsm setchannel raid (This works for player made channels as well)

New features in version 2.0: In this version there's a brandnew Options interface where you can adjust various things of the addon and warning. You can access the options menu with:

  • /tsm options
  • /tsm o

Furthermore you can change the position of the warning on your screen with the following /commands:

  • /tsm move enable
  • /tsm move disable
  • /tsm move reset

After you move the message be sure to disable it so that the position gets saved. The resetting of the position can be done with both the /command and a button on the options interface.

Also a .txt document has been added to the folder in which a few macro's are listed that I recommend using in combination with this addon.

Is there any way to remove the message that appears right smack in the middle of the screen? I just want to output the messages into the raid chat.

  • #50

No there isn't, however you could put the font size to 1 and drag the warning to the corner of your screen (with the /move command)

I cannot get this to post in raid chat.  I have tried to set it to enable raid, instance, auto etc.

mhm, it's possible with the change to having instance chat besides raid/party chat that the check isn't working correctly anymore. I'll look at it when I get the chance to do so. Have you tried the following? Enable Channel warning and put raid (or party) as the warning channel

Yes, I have tried that and still no go :(

    Hello!

There is a problem on russian client when it's displaying a bunch of debris (like "?????") instead of localized spell names. I have managed to fix it by replacing "Fonts\\FRIZQT__.TTF" strings with STANDARD_TEXT_FONT constant (that resolves to "Fonts\\FRIZQT___CYR.TTF" on my client).

Also, I would suggest to increase the width of the string (like SetWidth(700) --> SetWidth(1024)) since some localized spell names are much longer than english ones and don't fit the original width.

And thanks alot for your great addon!

Thanks for reporting, I've put your fix in and uploaded to curse. Let me know if any other localisation problems pop up as I can't test the russian client. And glad to hear people are still enjoying my addon, considering I had only written it for HC Lich King after patch 4.0

    5.2 Update

The dispell messaging fix for patch 5.2 has been uploaded to curse and should be available soon.

Anyone else not having this work anymore since 5.2?

By default it used to show in big white text when i dispelled something. This is no longer the case. On a side note, the spell interrupt works and displays fine ( when I interrupt a cast with silence shot ).

I need "idiot instructions" on how to set it to default and / or a more detailed explanation on how to use this mod please .

    Thanks,

    Raygar

I haven't played WoW much recently but I'll check it out. If the interrupt message works then blizzard probably changed something to the combat log event for tranq shot again, meaning 5.2 broke it.

Hi. I play on a MacBook Pro, and i cannot open tranqshotmonitor at all. I have tried every /tsm combination and /tranqshotmonitor but it just says type /help for a listing of commands. Is it something I'm not doing or what is the problem?

Have you checked if you have the option checked to load out of date addons? The only reason it's marked out of date is because the toc file still says patch 5.0 instead of 5.1

    Please, add

local GetNumRaidMembers = GetNumRaidMembers or GetNumGroupMembers
local GetNumPartyMembers = GetNumPartyMembers or GetNumSubgroupMembers

to the very begin of *.lua. GetNumRaidMembers was renamed in MoP and autoselection of chat does not work

Thanks for the report, I've fixed it and am uploading it now
