About Trashcan
Trashcan keeps space free in your inventory by selling low value gray items or destroying them if you do not visit a vendor and are running out of space.
(Note: when first installed, Trashcan is disabled. Go to Options->Interface->AddOns to enable it.)
Features:
- GUI configuration (can be opened through the Bliz Options/Interface/Addons, or by typing /tc config)
- Maintains a Trashlist to which you can add non-gray items that will automatically be sold (or destroyed, depending on settings)
- Any time you manually destroy an item, you will see a third button in the confirmation dialog allowing you to add the item to your Trashlist.
- If selling is enabled, sells all grays and all items in your Tashlist whenever you visit a vendor.
- If destroying is enabled, you can set a minimum number of free bag slots and a maximum item value to destroy. Whenever you have less than that number of free bag slots, Trashcan will destroy the least valuable gray or Trashlist item in your inventory to reach the set number of free slots.
- GUI includes a page for managing your Trashlist where you can drag to add items or click to remove items. You can also add items to the Trashlist manually by name using the command line.
- GUI shows the total vendor value of all items ever sold and of all items deleted by Trashcan.
- Note that when calculating the vendor value of items to destroy, Trascan uses the value of a full stack of any stackable items, so that in the long run you will destroy less value if you repeatedly fill your inventory.

im trying to use this to automatically destroy stone from mining so i can easier farm the ore and crystals but it doesnt seem to be destroying them from my bags
if i try selling them to a vendor using this it works
i tried using the same settings as what the screenshot shows and still it doesnt work
maybe its just me doing something wrong but could you maybe explain this to me?
Sorry it took so long to get back to you. It is working fine now and allowing me to add additional stuff to the trash list. I don't remember what I couldn't add, but at least i can add more than 8 things to the list now. The items that i could not add came from killing crypt crawlers in Stratholme and Scholomance (crypt fiend parts, dripping spider mandibles, and hard spider legs) or something like that. Next time i farm it i will see if it still happens and actually get the exact names. Most of the problems i was having is of course user error and not understanding a new mod. BTW, thank you for the quick response, less than 24 hours. I read it 23 min after you posted it. If u ever need sum1 to help test a beta, i will give it a test drive for ya. That is how much i appreciate the mod and all the work u have put into it. Simple, small, effective, and very easy to use, once u know what u are doing, which doesn't take long at all. TYVM AGAIN
Is it possible to have an exception list? I carry a few gray items of sentimental value that I don't want automatically sold or destroyed.
This was mentioned once before. Perhaps two times justifies it. Let me look back at my code and see how big a deal it would be to add it.
I might not get to it right away; this looks to be a long week.
It's done. Trashcan no longer counts trade skill bag slots as free spots for the purposes of keeping space free in inventory.
I've pushed a new release with just that changed, since it is obviously a smarter behavior for the addon.
Thank you very much! I really appreciate the effort. Trashcan will be a permanent part of my addon library.
I used to use loot filter, but ever since the 4.x release, it's been useless. I love trashcan so far.. BUT.. running into a problem. I have it set to keep x slots open in my bags by deleting items as I loot. On a toon with all 'normal' bags, this works great. However, on a toon that has crafting bags, such as a 36 slot herbalism bag, it counts the open slots in the crafting bag as available, and my normal bags just fill up. Is there a way to make Trashcan ignore the free space in specific bags?
This is a really good point. I will write an update that doesn't count trade skill bag slots as free bag space. I'll post again here when it is available for testing.
how many items can u add to the trash list? I was farming Scholomance and it would not let me add more to the list (think it was like 6-8 i had on the list). I was killing the spider things and they drop like spider legs and all that crap and a i did the normal thing, I draged them out of the bag to delete a clicked on trashcan, but still it didn't add them to the list. So basicaly how many things can u have on the list. OH BTW AWSOME ADD!!!!
What were you trying to add to the trash list? There is no limit that you should ever be able to reach, and I am not having any trouble adding items by that method. I have a very long trash list, too.
Any chance you could tell me specifically what items you were trying to add and what your other settings are (min free bag slots, max value to delete). Also please check what version you are running of the addon.
Hi folks.
The error about the missing OnLoad method was fixed not long after it was created, but those who updated the AddOn in between will indeed see this error. When I committed the update I inadvertantly did not include the updated version of one of the files. The changes really only involved removing things that were no longer needed, including the declaration of the OnLoad script. When I caught it the next day, I decided to take advantage and remove the .xml file altogether in favor of loading all of the scripts directly from the .toc.
As has been observed, the error doesn't actually break anything.
Just update once more and the error will disappear.
I get the same error.
Other than that, the addon does the job just fine. Keep up the good work!
Since the update, I keep getting the following error everytime I log in.

i also have problem here... cannot add items to trashcan... either from interface or from /tc config bags are gray so i cant put in items which i want to be delited...
Could you open a ticket? Near the top of this page in the addon info click on project site, then click on the tickets tab.
I would need to know what version you are using. When you say that your bags are gray, what exactly do you mean? What are you trying to add, and what happens when you try to drag and drop items in the Trash List section of the UI, then click add?
