About Trav's Unit Frame Extensions

can you make this so that it works for enemy's too? i arena alot and it'd be alot easier to see their classes and can you also add their classes to their nameplates?

My request may be beyond the scope of this project. Would it be possible to show player buffs? When in a party, I'd like to see the player buffs under their player frame. Right now, I hover or click on their player frame to see their buffs.

Just to let people know, my connection has been very slow getting the 4.0.1 patch -- it finally finished this morning, but I had to go to work, so I'll be testing my addons in 4.0.1 and updating them over the next couple of days.

I've also been looking at the UnitCreatureType() problem, but it appears that WoW only returns the localized names, so I may have to get those from people who are using non-English clients and put in a translation table or something similar to make it work.

hi .. very good addon, simple, light and useful

however there is a problem with localizations .. i found you use wow api UnitCreatureType() function to get unit type on mobs, and this way find the corresponding file name

i discovered with diffrent client localizations, UnitCreatureType() function returns diffrent values .. i.e. if you target a beast in an enUS/GB client, function will return "Beast", but in esES/MX clients it will return "Bestia"

of course there is no "Bestia.tga" file so icon will not display properly

Thanks for letting me know -- I'll take a look at the functions and see if there's one that'll return something unique for each type that won't change across language versions.

Is it possible to resize the unitframe or scale them up ?
  • #8
This won't do that for you, but if you use something else to scale them, the "bits" it adds will rescale with them.

I was using Extended Unit Frames
    http://wow.curse.com/downloads/wow-addons/details/extended-unit-frames.aspx
but it doesn't work with 3.0.2 and the author has dropped support. I really liked the features of EUF, like the target unit frames for each player, party members, and pets; party cast bars; focus frame, and so on.

I don't know which of these, if any, that your AddOn includes, but here's hoping. I'll have to try it soon.

    Thanks!

Thanks for updating for 3.0.2. I migrated to UFE from SimpleUnitFrames. I just wanted the class icon and this does the job for PvP. For PvE, I'd rather see if the target is humanoid/beast/dragonkin/undead/elemental/... Class info on NPCs is generally useless. I can probably fix this myself, but I thought I'd pitch this suggestion here too.

Oops, found what I wanted in the options dialog. My bad.

Maybe a screenshot of the options dialog would make it clearer that the addon can display creature type instead of class. I actually read the addon source code to find out it could do that - should have read the ReadMe, I guess.

Useful for who use the original blizzard Unitframes.

This addon is perfect for those who like blizzards default unitframes(which btw are getting better and better every patch, but still missing these important stuff).
