About TributeLoot

TributeLoot is a mod that links boss drops in raid warning, players then whisper the mod if they are interested in winning an item. The mod silently records the information and then prints the results in chat after 45 seconds.

Usage:

/tl
This command prints the current mod version and all possible slash options.

/tl link
/tl l

This command links the loot in raid warning, starts the countdown, and prints the results when finished.

/tl results
/tl r

This command prints the loot results again.

/tl clear
This command clears the previous loot results.

/tl options
/tl o

This command opens the options window.

Items are linked with a number to the left of them. If someone is interested in winning an item, then whisper "in" or "rot" with the item number.

Example 1:
Abc whispers "in 1" to go in on [Eskhandar's Collar] for mainspec
Xyz whispers "rot 2" to go in on [Judgement Crown] for offspec

Abc changes his mind and whispers "out 1" to be removed from the [Eskhandar's Collar] list.
Xyz changes her mind and whispers "out 2" to be removed from the [Judgement Crown] list.

Players may optionally specify the item they are upgrading.
Giving an item number after /tl results will print the detailed list for a specific item.

Example 2:
Abc whispers "in 2 [Lawbringer Helm]"
Xyz whispers "rot 2 [Lionheart Helm]"

The person running the mod types /tl results 2

<TributeLoot> Detailed Results for [Judgement Crown].
Abc replacing [Lawbringer Helm] for mainspec
Xyz replacing [Lionheart Helm] for offspec

Players may also optionally specify a DKP bid value.

Example 3:
Abc whispers "in 1 300"
Xyz whispers "in 1 500"

The person running the mod types /tl results 1

<TributeLoot> Detailed Results for [Eskhandar's Collar].
Abc bidding 300 for mainspec
Xyz bidding 500 for mainspec

Users can specify which items to ignore when linking loot (/tl options).
By default, it only ignores emblems and recipes.

Hi! Loving the add-on so far - curious if you have plans to extend it to support multiple boss loot windows? i.e. sort of a /tl addloot for each boss loot window, then a /tl link. Seems every other fight cata the boss drops are split between multiple loot windows.

    Thanks!

That is a good idea and I may look into adding this functionality in the future. We traditionally handled this by having multiple guild officers running the mod and a different officer would link each NPC. That way people could go "IN" on the second NPC's loot while we were discussing the first one.

Maybe a stupid question but what does "ROT" stand for?
  • #9
"rot" is the terminology we use when no one wants an item.

(i.e. "The item is rotting with the corpse")

So the keyword "rot" is used to say you only want an item if it is going to rot, which indicates someone wants it for offspec or sidegrade.

Just for your information "rot" does meen red in German :)

    1. perhaps you can make it configurable, cause I don't now what offspec has to do with "rot"?

    3. Thx for that :) hopefully a dkp value can be configured as required?!

    4. I have posted several german translations :)
  • #6
    1. I have no plans to change the keywords "in" or "rot" at this time.

    2. The mod hides the whispers as they are received. It prints the results in officer chat by default, but there is an option to change it to print in raid (/tl options)

    3. This is added in version 1.1.5

    4. Yes, localization support has been added. I just need string translations.

That is very interesting for our DKP-System, to make looting quicker.
But I have a few questions:

    1. Is it possible to change the keywords? F. e. "first" instead of "in" and "sec" instead of "rot"

    2. Is it possible to not show the whispers of any bid to the one who collects the bidding? But show the result in /ra or somewhere? Whe use blind bidding.

    3. It is possible to whisper "in 2 [Lawbringer Helm]"... but for our DKP-System [Lawbringer Helm] is not relevant, cause we don't use loot council. Whould it be possible to whisper something like that "in 2 300" for second item 300 dkp? And list the dkp values as a result (perhaps sorted :) ). The DKP value must not be validated against a dkp-addon.

    4. Is it possible to translate your addon? I would submit translation for german client.

    nvm the offspec question, DOH.
  • #3
The names of people that whispered "rot" for offspec will appear in parenthesis after all the main spec people. The mod does not "roll" for people though, we use it for loot council and vote on who wins. But it could just as easily be used for a DKP system.

does it roll for those who opt in for an item? Does it allow for rolling Main spec and Off spec?
