About VendorSearch

Creates a search bar to search through a vendor's items.
You are now able to find much faster the item you want.

Please update to the last version (4.0) to enjoy a way better version of VendorSearch! (see changelog)

VendorSearch also allows you to filter the items in a vendor frame. You can choose to hide the things you can't wear, can't buy etc...

Depending on your settings, you will be able to see only the items corresponding to your search, or just hide by opacity-changing the items that are not corresponding to your search.

Since version 4.0, the interface has been completely enhanced to focus on what needs to be done : search.
It's now faster and more efficient than before. Please download version 4.0 now !
The dropdown menu is now gone, as users used 99% of the time the "by name" search.

Since version 1.98, the frame is refreshed with the right results when you change page.

Since version 1.9, you have more filters to precise your search : you can search by name, type, subtype, price <, price >, rarity. (see screenshots).

Since version 1.5, you can choose your own type of "hiding mode". If you want to see only what you're looking for, there is a "Full Hiding Mode", which just keeps what you want. For those who still want to see what the Merchant sells, but the results of the search at the same time, the "Opacity Hiding Mode" is perfect. It set the alpha of the non-result items a bit lower so the items you're looking for are like "highlighted".

Will there be a full text search for all item information?

  • #21
good start but your addon need to look into comments, slot type and stats too
  • #20
The only thing I don't like about this is it seems to conflict with chat and shortcut commands when you have your vendor window open. Is there no way to remove focus from the vendor window when you wish to opperate chat or other windows via shortcut commands?

how this one suppose to work? i dont see any options or commands in info, vendor frame dosnet change when i installed it any way
  • #16
Likely why you don't see anything: the recently released v4.2.1 is bugged.

It throws an error at logon (which you won't see if you don't turn on the Blizzard error reporting or run a bug catcher mod) which kills the mod. I filed a ticket on the WowAce site for this problem here:

    Fixed the 1st bug, thanks

Can you make this addon work with GnomishVendorShrinker? Btw thank you very much for the addon! I know a lot of the time it's a thankless job.
  • #14
I'm also looking for GnomishVendorShrinker support.
  • #12
I'll try to keep it updated as soon I I have some time for it, and to make it "less useless" for 3.2 :P
  • #11
This addon is virtually useless in 3.2. I hope it gets updated soon, as I find it very convenient.
  • #10
    Very helpful! Thank you!

all right, well "thx" (you don't want me to say thanks lol) for advices, and ideas, I'll think about like a "personnalized filter", so you can define your rules and get even better results :D

and, about moving items in order to have them faster, it's not that easy... but I think it's possible to kind of bypass that and create like a little external frame that shows you want you want in a single place.... good idea too :D

I just tested that configuration and actually you're right, it doesn't really work as it should do if you choose these options... I actually designed these options to hide the non-results items if you're currently searching for something. I think you were not, and you were expecting the addon to still hide them. Good point : that makes me think of enabling the hiding/filtering directly, not only if there is a search.

That "bug" is corrected in version 1.94 ;)

    Thanks ! :D

By the way, I don't think that the addon will be able to filter reagents you don't use... it would be to much work to create all the possibilities, but if I find an API to know if it's used.... ;)
