About We Don't Wipe - Frost Deathknight

This file is a module for the We Don't Wipe AddOn. Included with this download is the very simple procedure for adding this module to We Don't Wipe. No file editing for v3.01 of WDW!!!

General Rotation Notes
Sometimes, if you are unable to follow the rotation closely, certain abilities will just not be suggested in the queue. This is probably because preconditions to establish optimal use of the ability were not met.

(It is possible to exclude abilities from a rotation, and yet still display their CD/availability.)

Notes Specific to the Frost Deathknight Module
Optimising your actions for 'best practice' rune management based upon your Tier 5 talents is very difficult to master. This module takes care of this for you and is quite a step up from basic rune availability management. Consult an end game DK Raiders website for details.

Deathknights can have considerable rotation downtime. If you get the 'Auto Attack' icon then look down the queue. Perhaps an early disease refresh or a Horn of Winter or a less optimised D&D/FS/Oblit? Or even use the GCD to quickly move. You should always be doing something. In a multi-target fight you will of course be spreading diseases during any rotation lulls.

The module ships with '2H' and 'DW' rotations and allows for the Tier 15 4 piece set bonus. While you may display a queue of up to 10 actions, for Deathknights four at most should suffice.

I encourage others to suggest their own ideas, perhaps even upload your own module if you have some LUA skills. I am happy to assist. :)

    WDW v4.0

As of WDW v4.00 functionality is further broken. I need to level a DK before I can redo this AddOn, sorry.

Edit: Levelling a DK on my new account. Hit 80 recently. Pressing on lol.

Can you guys update the addon to the current blizz patch? I cant find any other good addon like this one!

Is Necrotic Plague even accounted for?

It is not account for full runic power, doesn't tell me to do frost strikes to dump runic power.

Why am i being constantly told to use horn of winter and autoattack?

Well I'd great things about it, but it wont even start up. I've installed it and reinstalled it, not really sure why it won't start.

The "reply" mechanism on this website is flawed from about the 3rd reply onwards (i.e. they are not placed and not indented correctly) so I won't bother starting a "reply" chain here lol. Just fresh posts.

Indirectly I am answering much of dedmou5 (below):

    (1) Diseases are always top priority with me for 2H/DW. I just include the Frost Presence above it as a quick "noob" check.

    (2) Up to now I have included SR<35%HP and I think it still stays as it did get a damage boost for 5.4. BUT I will ensure that I have coded so that: if a HB is needed very soon for the FF disease then, will I still have enough runes if I apply SR now?

On non-boss targets we have a very short time to blast our SR, it just can't wait valuable seconds in the rotation.

And I have never like doing a disease refresh on (almost) dead targets. I seem to get more damage if I quickly switch (after my SR) to another mob, hit harder with the HB with the smaller "disease" hit on the old target. And the BP refresh also on the newer target. Obviously a situational thing here that is difficult to argue one way or the other.

    (3) Pillar of Frost is a shortish CD that should be used off CD always. It logically comes before a disease refresh. It is OFF the GCD but haven't thought how it could be macroed but it remains that a PoF followed by  a HB for an urgently needed reapply of FF disease is NOT a DPS loss compared with HB first and then the PoF.

So my point is this: I think that the few things prioritised above diseases are justified. As always, I say to people, I am debating here, perhaps being a bit polemical. So give me your best shot! It will help for better rotations hehehe.

You say a lot of disease down time. Not for me when I follow the rotation closely on a single target. Patchwerk style I am meaning. I get zero downtime.

I agree Plague Leech is tricky. It has had a "bit" of a boost but I think it is a dud boost. In my opinion, and I haven't seen a discussion to this effect yet on the net, we should not delay a PL until we can benefit from the two rune activation. Thus, if PL is up and needed, I suggest it in the rotation and to hell with not getting two blood runes but I do insist upon one rune being needed. Anyone agree or disagree?

DW Oblits I am not so sure about now for 5.4 and have been reading some bad stuff about Obliterate. DW rotation obviously needs some work done.

Frost Strike, I am sorry to say dedmou5, is still heavily pushed for DW at places like Icy Veins and Elitist Jerks, at the expense of a perhaps urgently needed disease refresh. Yup, I am not big on SimCraft as I follow Blizzard's line that SC gets it wrong often enough but EJ is less about SC logs these days I think. But I am going with the fact that pro players have KM-FS above HB for DW.

TL;DR: I think it is wrong to think that I have diseases way down the list. Our Frost Presence is a noob check. A SR-35% can't wait. A PoF before a HB is a net gain. And I do not see any disease downtime, let alone a TON of disease downtime.

And there is a DW update and maybe a 2H tweak coming soon!

Plague leech seems a bit tricky to use considering the dual rune recovery with this mod. It's suggesting it as nearly an opening and you have to spend runes on an unpredicted maneuver prior to being able to use, also it seems like there is a TON of disease downtime with the rotations. I.e. it's pushing for other procs (KM FS ) when top priority in the rotation has been and always shall be disease reapplication post PL. I know it's just a suggestive rotation but putting disease reapplication more than 5 suggested moves away (have even played with recalculation speed) seems a bit of a dps loss. Tested this against both manual rotation management and other Death knight addons and this seems to be a complete loss.
