About WhoHas

WhoHas modifies every tooltip in the game to show which of your characters have the item in the tooltip, and where. This works in your inventory, at the auction house, on chat links, and even in trade skill windows. The tooltip will show how many of the item each of your characters have, and where - in their inventory, in the bank, equipped, or even in their inbox. This can be useful for managing your overall inventory, or for finding out who has the items you need for crafting.

WhoHas requires a separate addon to track all of your personal items. WhoHas currently supports:

Armory is preferred, since it has the most complete inventory and gets frequent updates. Siz's Possessions is a decent second choice and has good inventory support, but has not received much developer attention lately.

WhoHas will auto-select the best backend to use based on the inventory addons you have enabled. It will search for addons in the order shown above.

I may be able to add support for other inventory addons on request.

WhoHas now supports English, German, and French, thanks to the efforts of Pelion, maintainer of ReagentID.

Enter "/whohas" in chat to configure.

To prevent WhoHas from showing tooltips for specific items, enter "/whohas ignore ITEM NAME" in chat, where ITEM NAME is the item you don't want WhoHas tooltips for. You can also type "/whohas ignore " (make sure to include the space at the end) and then shift-click on the item you want to ignore to fill in its name.

Note as of WoW 3.0

The WoW 2.4 client changed the way the local item cache is updated. It now updates very slowly after a game patch. I have not yet verified whether this is still the case with WoW 3.0 or not. Since WhoHas needs the item cache info to figure out your inventory, slow updates can cause problems, particularly with Guild Banks. To work around this issue, check your inventory, bank, and Guild Bank after a game update, wait a few minutes for your local cache to fill in completely, and then check them again. You will only have to do this once after each game update.

  • Patched an incompatibility that I missed the first time around. This bug affected only Armory Guild Bank when the "Show tabs in Guild Vaults" option was off.

This is a useful mod, and it works fine in 4.2 live.  I can't get it to work at all on the 4.3 PTR, however.  I'm afraid it won't work when 4.3 goes live.  Would someone be kind enough to update it please?

What sort of trouble are you having? I just tried out WhoHas on the PTR and it is working flawlessly for me. No doubt I need to update some of the ore data and the like, but I didn't see any bugs.

I was using the latest version of Armory - 9.10.0. What addon are you using for inventory?

If you can give me more details, I'll look into this some more.

This is one of WoW's more useful mods... would someone please be kind enough to update it for 4.3?  It works for me in 4.2 live but not at all on the PTR.  Frown

    Hi Aeryn,

I've been neglecting this thing way too long. I'll try to get it updated this weekend, if I can get on the PTR.

Not sure whether this is a Whohas error or an Armory error. I'm getting the following error spammed:

2x WhoHas-4.0.0b3\WhoHas_Armory_old.lua:163: attempt to perform arithmetic on local 'count' (a table value)
    WhoHas-4.0.0b3\WhoHas.lua:543: in function `UpdateCaches'

    WhoHas-4.0.0b3\WhoHas.lua:305: in function `OnShow'

Forgot to mention, of course, that I'm using both Whohas and Armory.
  • #215
Yep, that's a WhoHas error. Recent changes in Armory cause this to happen in certain places. I thought I had squashed all of the errors, but obviously I missed this one. I'll get it fixed up for you. (Thanks for the stack trace!)

Been trying to get this to work with Baggins. I tried your recommendation on putting in a line of code as recommended way back in November but that didn't seem to work. I'm not a coder so it's very possible I put it in the wrong place; there are a lot of "end" statements there. Either that or something was changed in the new version of Baggins and another solution is needed. If anyone knows how to get it to work let me know, if not well... :(

Forgot to mention I am also using the Anywhere Bags plug in. I'm not certain if that makes a difference.
  • #216
Well, actually it's not that something changed in Baggins.... it's that WhoHas doesn't support Baggins... yet. I will see if I can get that in place this week.

Hi - sorry about the delay, Curse failed to notify me about your comment, or my spam filter ate it.

Very likely something has changed in Baggins that breaks WhoHas now. If you can paste an error message that will help, but I'll look into it in the meantime. I haven't tried it with Baggins in a long time.

Gruma, using the most recent version and switching back to link armory versus possessions, I am getting a new thing in the mix.... seems whohas based on armory 411 are unmixy with TipTac, a tooltip handler. However, I get no errors when WH is tied to possessions.
  • #206
Well, shoot. That doesn't make a whole lot of sense. I haven't changed anything that deals with tooltips. The latest change only affects how I interpret the Armory data in two little places. It's possible that it was previously erroring before it got to TipTac conflict.

Anyway, I haven't used TipTac befotr, so I'll download it and check out the conflict.
  • #207
Marblex, I have to ask you to post one of the errors again. I added in TipTac, and I'm not seeing any errors. I tried Armory r376 earlier and just updated to v9.2.6. I never saw an r411 "release".
