About XLoot

Notes about new version and the major changes made

If you are experiencing more than one problem, please make sure you completely remove XLoot and download it fresh from here or the Curse Client.

After that, please create or comment on a existing ticket with your error(s)

All options are available via /xloot or Interface -> AddOns -> XLoot (/xlm toggles Monitor's anchors, /xlg toggles Group's)

About

XLoot is a small group of addons which improve looting in WoW by replacing default frames.

XLoot Frame
Replaces the Loot Frame, adding more information and behavior/appearance options.
XLoot Group
Replaces Group Loot frames, modifies Loot Alerts/Bonus Roll frame
Group frames display current roll choices, the rolled numbers, and the winner.
If you experience any problems rolling on items, please disable XLoot Group and post a report with any error.
I understand this may cause you to lose out on a item, which is extremely unfortunate.
However, I am unable to debug it myself as I no longer play, but welcome any errors or volunteer debugging efforts.
The rest of XLoot can be used safely without Group.
XLoot Monitor
Shows a "toaster" for looting items, similar to Guild Wars 2, allowing you to either more visibly see what you and others loot, or remove loot messages from your chat box all together.
XLoot Master
Provides a more convenient Master Looter menu

Any of these modules (Frame, Group, Monitor, Master) can be disabled like any other addon if you do not want their functionality.

Masque Skins

Not all Masque skins will work without adjustment.

Please see XLoot\skins.lua (Comments at the top) and then XLoot\SKIN_TWEAKS.lua (See examples and add tweak for skin here)

Old versions

I understand that these are large changes and may take adjustment. If you have suggestions as to how to improve the mod or something you want from the old version, please let me know.

If you are offended by these changes, a mop-compatible version will remain here but will not be supported: http://www.wowace.com/addons/xloot/files/429-mop-3-release/

I welcome your feedback.

Make anchors have some width setting. They keep changing from char to char and from login to login. Messy.

Also, "dummy" or preview would be great for the roll bars, width, icons size etc.

Please make sure you're using z8, z7 had some issues with anchors. If it persists, please update me.

Dummy frames are coming, but not sure when unfortunately.

I already updated to z8. z7 had issues especially with monitor anchor, items kept going Up, instead of the Down setting.

Now, please, make an anchor width setting..

Anchor width settings are counter-productive. It should be consistent across a profile and depend on scale. If you could illustrate these problems with screenshots it would be very helpful, as I have not had luck reproducing them.

Thanks for the updated XLoot and especially for the Ace2 removal. I love the "new" XLoot so much.

Hah, "new". I wish it was :p

But I really appreciate the positive feedback, people tend to just be quiet when it works, and vocal when it breaks.

Is Valve Time comparable to Blizzards soon(tm)? I know Valve but actually never used to play their games. :D

    Same thing, essentially.

If it gets too dirty its really not worth it, since you're going to set up the mod once. If there is a smooth solution I'd like to see it, anyway. =)

Well, most of the functionality is still sitting in 1.0 Frame. Like I said, it'll probably happen eventually. Knowing me though, well. That's like Valve Time :p

Thanks for info, had almost the same scenario when I uploaded a big update of one of my mods, which changed almost everything. I noticed XLoot got a small style change but couldn't even tell you what exactly looks different.

What about example frames (dummy loot rolls, dummy loot in all item quality colors, etc.) when setting XLoot up, did I miss it? If not, that would be my suggestion as it would make changing options much easier.

1.0 actually had (has) that. When I did my own options panel instead of AceConfigDialog that was a goal. It worked almost entirely differently though, mostly in the fact that it worked on a copy of the options then discarded/comitted it when cancel/ok were pressed.

ACD doesn't facilitate that very well, but ideally there will be testing frames at some point. It's just a pain to generate fake copies of those frames without duplicating lots of code that would have to be updated separately, or abstracted to the point that it's difficult to maintain (1.0 almost hit that line, mostly due to less than optimal structuring decisions).

Thankfully most options are applied as you change them now, at least. Smacked up a ticket for it: http://www.wowace.com/addons/xloot/tickets/79-dummy-frames-for-configuration/

This is XLoot 1.0, right? That's why I said "new" ;) Don't know what people actually bothers here, this mod is great and it misses nothing but perhaps example frames when setting it up. Or did I miss them? ;)

People got used to how the original one looked (Which was it not looking like it should, ironically), mostly. That and coming in to a bunch of changes with errors on either side is never pleasant, so I can't blame them. Especially if it causes problems with getting your loot, like the guy with bonus roll problems below.

You add to that the confusion with naming, I mean, naming a new version "1.0" wasn't the brightest thing I've ever done. That and they're all still on curse, too.

I tried to leave it in alpha/beta for a while, but inevitably with the fraction of people using it, some things got through.

This is 1.0 with re-done options, but the trick is someone (I think ArrowMaster) actually gutted Ace3 from XLoot a couple months after Ace3 happened. I rewrote it once in the next year, then two years later mostly finished it and put up 1.0, then last year rewrote the modules, and at the end finally combined it.. And here we are.

Hello,   i am using the xloot 1.0 branch . Did the 2 version already merge? I am in a bit of loss, which is the "new" and which is the "old" version now.
