About X-Perl UnitFrames
Known issues in current Patch 4.X versions
- Due all taint by the buggy hiding Blizzard Raid Frame code, all of it was removed in latest version of X-Perl, so you cannot hide that anymore with currently X-Perl version. Suggested to use This addon instead if you want hiding Blizzard's Raid Frame UIs.
- 'Buffs/Debuffs line above frame' is totally glitch out when 4.0 launched, still waiting Zeksie(or someone can) fix it...
- After X-Perl 3.1.2(r510,or alpha version r498 and later versions), the Blizzard's Holy Power bar won't appears anymore, instead triangle icons that matched X-Perl style will appears, IT IS NOT A BUG, only bugged if you can't see those triangle icons when you gain any Holy Power. Also, Warlock's shard icons will moved to upper of player frame after r514-r516 and next release version that will release, it is NOT bug TOO.
- Right clicking off buffs is partly functional now (r456 or later). There are bugs with it. Please limit your bug reports to 'functional' problems rather than display issues. There are many bugs with the underlying API (auras not appearing. auras overlapping weapon buffs, weapon buffs wrong, no ranged weapon buff etc) and from past experience it's quite likely there will be a lot of code changes in the near future. I am therefor I am unwilling to spend a lot of time on it for the moment for this reason; I would just be making work for myself. However, that said, the underlying code to make this work in future is in place and support will be complete when we see something more stable from Blizzard. (No, 3.1.0 Betas[before r456] are not works, you'll get tainted error or nothing happens.)
- If you're playing Paladin/Druid/Warlock, please make sure the "Docked with Player" option is checked, else your HolyPower bar or other bars may fucked up because that option ONLY totally works with DK and cause problem with other classes. And logout and quit WoW then start WoW and login again for make that option take effect, well...that's a mess... :\
- UI for eclipse may make buffs under it to appear funny. (Recommended to turn off player buffs anyways in 4.0)
- Debuffs classes can cure need to be updated for 4.0.
- Not All Xperl tooltips function yet (such as xperl info on guildmates)
Bug Reporting
Use a good error catcher (like BugSack from files.wowace.com) and provide the full error text, and give as much information as possible to recreate the problem. Don't assume I know what you're talking about with some three word report.
Either use the Ticketing System, or post a message on the wowace forum page: http://forums.wowace.com/showthread.php?t=14358
Introduction
Perl, with Extra stuff. Much enchanced from Nymbia's Perl UnitFrames, and a complete replacement for Blizzard's default unit frames, including raid frames and raid tools, with little remaining of the original Nymbia code.
- Range Finder (combined with optional health check and/or debuff check) for all frames based on spell or item range test.
- HoT Monitor will highlight units clearly that have ''your own'' active Heal over Time spells. Regardless of how many other heal over time buffs are on the raid members, you can keep track of your own ones and when they expire.
- Debuff Highlighting in standard debuff colours on all friendly frames. Priority given to show debuffs that ''you'' can cure first.
- Raid Frames, buff icons, MT list units and some other portions or X-Perl are Created on demand. Saving a lot of time and memory at system startup. Defering the creation of many parts of X-Perl to when they are actually required. And of course, most often outside of raids they are never required and are never created.
- Raid Target icon support for Target, Target's Target, MT Targets.
- Raid Tooltip will show combat rezzers available (druids with Rebirth ready (or very soon available) and any normal rezzers out of combat) if you bring up tooltip of a dead person.
- In-combat indicators for all units.
- 3D Portraits for player, pet, target, focus, party. Optional. Of course this may degrade your framerate somewhat because you are displaying more 3D character models that without this option. But some like it pretty, and it does look cool.
- Red and Green combat flashes for frames when player, pet, target, party, partypets, raid take damage/heals. Useful indication of things happening.
- Added '''time left''' on party member/target buffs/debuffs when in a raid, these depend somewhat on CTRA/oRA/oRA2 sending appropriate information over the addon channel, although some of it can be determined at run time by X-Perl, when a player gets a buff for example, we know how long it should last, and therefor when it should expire.
- Totally new options window including all X-Perl options and access via minimap icon.
- Configurable colours for borders and backgrounds. Including class coloured names, and configurable reaction colours.
Much care has been taken with code size, memory load, memory usage per cycle and so on. LuaProfiler/OnEvent mods used extensively and regularly to ensure that X-Perl does not do more work than is absolutely necessary.
Assists View
Will show anyone from raid assising you with your target, and can also show healers or all plus known enemies targetting you.
Tooltips for the same also available (on player and target frames) if you prefer to not use the main window.
MT Targets
Replaces CTRA/oRA2 MT Targets window, and doubles as a replacement for the Perl RaidFrames warrior targets.
Indicator shows which target you are on.
Frames will be coloured to show if tanks have duplicate targets.
Casting Monitor
(WORK IN PROGRESS)
Shows selected classes (defaults to healer classes) in a list (much like the MT List), but with some differences.
Shows mana bars and cast bars on left. Their targets on right. Health bar as normal, but a secondary small red bar on targets which shows the maximum single hit this unit has received since entering combat. The secondary bar will extend downwards from their current HP level down to as far as zero.
A green name on the targets indicates this is the same target that you have. You can click on casters or their targets as expected.
For druids, right clicking on a caster will cast Innervate on them.
For shamans, right clicking on a caster will cast Mana Tide Totem. Check the * indicator to see if they're in your group.
All bars can be re-sized in X-Perl main options (Monitor section).
Totals can be toggled (from the 'T' minibutton at top of frame) which gives overview of raid mana status.
Raid Admin
(WORK IN PROGRESS)
Save/Load raid roster setups Only does direct save and load for the moment, but more to come (templates and such).
Item Check
Replacement for /raitem /radur /raresist /rareg. Use the old commands before, or drop items in the left item list.
Query button will perform /raitem on all ticked items (query always includes dur and resists) and you can then view and review all the results whenever, without having to re-query each item.
Includes everyone in raid, so you don't have to work out who doesn't have items, it'll list them with 0 instead of no entry.
Active Scanner to check raid member's equipment for the item selected. So you can be sure that people actually have the item worn (Onyxia Cloak for example), without having to go round single target inspecting everyone who 'forgot' to install CTRA for the 50th raid in a row.
Grim Reaper
Removed from X-Perl, but continues as it's own standalone Ace mod.

Comments
So I recently decided to redo my UI and I deleted X-perl (which I now seriously regret) My favorite feature off this addon was the range finder. Currently, it is not working for me. I have the option selected and people who are across the map from me aren't being faded out.
I've tried every single combination (enabling it, unchecking 'raid frames only,' and messing around with the actual range) and I cannot get this feature of the addon to work. I did some research but came out empty-handed.
If anyone has any information as to how to get the range finder to work, it would be GREATLY appreciated.
LOVE this addon but theres a problem...I cant focus target anyone. When I try to focus target I get this message where I either have to disable the addon or ignore it... Please please pleasee fix it :(
I've had this "problem" with numerous addons. It's not the addon, but Blizzard trying to limit the use of addons. I assume you're Right-clicking the player and selecting focus from there. Instead, Left-click the target and type /focus. That should resolve your issue.
I know the feeling and its kinda irritating not to see if my runes are becoming into death runes since im playing unholy atm.
I'm trying to set up my frames. I seem to remember there was a flip option for target and target of target, but it appears to be completely gone. Is this intentional or a bug? It's still there for party.
Great addon! Can be a very minimal presence on the screen if configured correctly. One thing though, does anyone know how get roles to show when doing LFR? sometimes I tank and I don't know who the other tank is. I need do some trash first to see who's up there on threat, or I ask in /raid, but I'd like to just have that info already.
Love the addon but noticed on my Death Knight that the Runes were not showing the cool down, don't know if this is a bug, or something I have to do on my end.
As much as I love this addon, I've got to ask... will Player Buffs/Debuffs EVER get fixed (Overlapping each other, buffs getting notched up leaving a considerably gap between them and player frame) ?
If not, guess it's time I changed addons then... :/
Nevermind. I just realised that I'm a retard and posted this in the wrong addon thread.
Hey there
This is one of my favouite addons I've been using it since not long after I started play wow. I have one request or question.
Is there any way to get the raid frames to have a target showing same as party does.
The reason I ask is that I run 10man raids and I would like to be able to see what everyone is targetting to make sure things are going correctly. I know there are other frame addons that can do this but they are not as good as this one.
If I've just missed a click somewhere please let me knwo or if this is something in the future that would also be great
Thanks
Hi there, I really like Xperl, especially the Debuff filter of the target, it is neat and effective.
However, I sometimes feel difficulties to see some crucial buff in plenty of them. For instance, trinkle and trigger stack up status Finger of Frost, and some suvival skills during time like Ice block, Divine sheild and hand of freedom.
So, I got 2 ways to deal with.
1. Similar to Debuff filter, make crucial buff bigger and let us customize what we want.
Or
2. Filter out some buff that we don't want so we can focus on the crucial buff. The filter out buff would be shown on top right corner as Bizzard does.
One thing I'd lover for Xperl to be able to do - is sort by Role. Be neat to be able to have groups of tanks - healers - dps. I know it sorts by class, but that's pretty useless when there are hybrids like paladins, druids and shamans - and warriors and dk's can be tanks or dps. etc. Not sure if the author still reads these comments, but it's just a suggestion. Doesn't mean you have to impelement it, but would be nice to see. :)
hi i just have a weird question i have the x-perl for 3.2. and i have 2 hunters one for alliance and one for horde. they are both on diff. realms yet on my alliance realm my pet isnt right underneath my hunter pic. its almost halfway down. on my horde realm my hunters pet is where its supposed to be at. so im acually confused as to why this is happining. any advice would be appricated if any 1 else is having this problem and fixed it
Fix for Status Highlighting to show the Resto Druid's tier 4 set bonus (Timeslip, double normal duration)?
The status highlighting is ending with the heal still on the raid member.
=D
ChuckPT, I had the same problem with the Blizzard's Raid Frames popping up while using X-Perl, I suggest you download this addon.

Works like a charm for me. :) Should definitely fix it for you!
