About Yata

Yata - Yet Another Totem Addon

Yata is the answer to all your totem (and weapon imbue) needs

What is Yata?

Yata is a hugely flexible totem bar addon, enabling your shaman to organise their totems, cast them (individually, through the multicast spells or by /castsequence macro) and track cooldowns and timers.

Yata was originally created by Tornhoof and was one of the pioneers of totem bar support during The Burning Crusade. It has been brought up to date in Wrath of the Lich King by kaytikat.

Features

Bars

  • Horizontal or vertical layout (with the ability to choose which side the pop-outs go)
  • Customisable order or groups and individual totems
  • Ability to hide useless or unused totems
  • Fully skinnable with ButtonFacade
  • Scale and position configurable
  • User-configured number of rows permanently visible
  • Button indicators showing which spells belong to which multicast spell
  • Short tooltip support
  • Key bind a spell group (e.g. a single key that will cast whichever fire totem is currently selected)

Spell Management

  • Key modifier to reorder totems (default: ctrl left click)
  • Key modifier to drop a totem without reordering (default: shift left click)
  • Key modifier to set/clear a totem as part of a multicast spell group (default: alt left click)
  • Cooldowns and timers shown on the button or on separate bars
  • Destroy Totem or Totemic Call (right click and shift right click, respectively)

How to get started

Open the Blizzard interface frame and choose yata or type /yata in the chat window

Type /kb to keybind abilities

Yata needs translating!

    First of all, thanks a lot for a very nice addon!

    When I started using the addon I noticed that there is a compatibility issue with this and an addon called SnowfallKeyPress. When I have Yata and SnowfallKeyPress enabled and I switch specs, it causes WoW client to not respond for about a minute. Not a biggie, just a heads up for the author and other SnowfallKeyPress users.

    Just a comment Kay on your comment "There's still no way to specify which hand an imbue will go on though" In a way yes, in a way no. In the current form .. no. In a modified way .. yes. What I mean is YATA could once you click for a imbue (via a keybind you select) .. place the other weapon (the one not wishing to be Imbued) into the user's bag. Then YATA would then imbue the requested weapon. Then YATA would then equip the other weapon it had earlier placed in bags,



    then equip left

    Would be a helluva lot easier to just left click for main hand and right click for offhand though....

    And true you would also have to check to see if the user had at least 1 free bag slot. Before performing this function.

    Two thing. When I have Yata underneath my Bartender action bars (only convenient spot) the pop up selection goes under them, making it very difficult to pick which totem I want to use. Also, is there a way to remove the weapon imbue button?

    Forgot to mention why I brought up the first part. Is there a way to make the pop up menu appear over my action bars?

    I'm not familiar with Bartender but perhaps you can lower the Strata of the bartender action bars so that they fall below the yata popup?

    Otherwise, you could edit TotemButton.lua and change line 24:
    button:SetFrameStrata("MEDIUM")
    to
    button:SetFrameStrata("HIGH")

    The side-effect of this is that the bar and popups will appear on top of any blizzard panels you might have open (like your character screen or guild tab, for example).

    I'll add adjustable strata for the bars to the list for a future release.

    Maybe you know whats going on Kay, but yata was casting wind fury on my main hand, and flame tongue on off hand .. Now only wind fury will cast on my off hand and not on my right now matter what I try. It makes me sad and I'm about to try reinstalling it. Though I would ask here first.. Also gotta say I LOVE YATA!

    Hmm, I wonder if blizzard have done something nifty with the weapon imbue code (at last). I'll respec to enhancement this afternoon and try it out myself.

    Ok, I just checked and am having no problems at all with the imbue code.

    If both weapons are unimbued whatever I click goes on the main hand, then the next one goes on the offhand.

    One thing to note with the latest version of yata is that alt+leftclick will remove the imbue on your main hand and alt+rightclick will remove the imbue on your offhand.

    There's still no way to specify which hand an imbue will go on though :(

    Seems that it bugs out when I place a new offhand, but relogging fixes it. Now clue whats going on, but its enough to make me slaps someone lol

    But once I relog it will go back to casting wind fury on main .. Which is what I cast first and flame on second cast. I still haven't had the alt+leftclick and alt+rightclick work for me. Should I just install it?

    Went ahead and reinstalled it, everything is working fine now even the alt click to remove.

    To me , this addon was supposed to be better choice than totemtimers, because it is much more light-weighted. But one thing that annoys me a lot is how to assign a totem into a multicast set.
    It seems that the modifier key which is assigned to make this function in the configure tab doesn't work . After I brings one totem to front with the modifier key being held , and press the multicast set button, it still brings out the old totems set (and to the front),ignores what I just did...

    Is this a localization problem? cause I am playing on the taiwan server.

    Can you confirm that the modifier that you are pressing is the one in the interface marked "Assign Totem" and not the one marked "Bring to Front"?
