About Yay Mounts

Please comment with any bugs, errors that occur, or with any additional features you'd like to see added.

If a mount is not showing up, try "/ym reload" to force a reload and check if it shows up then. If it still doesn't show up, leave a comment about it.

Provides a one button solution for mounting; allowing you to ground or flying mount, dismount, exit vehicles and shapeshift as a druid or shaman with one button. It includes a GUI for selecting which mounts you want to use. Yay Mounts is most useful for players with a large number of mounts, but only a handful that they actually want to use regularly. Players with very few mounts can still find it useful.

The GUI can be accessed by typing "/ym" or from the Blizzard options window. You can set the keybinding from the /ym GUI options or the Blizzard keybinding menu. You can also make a macro by using "/click YayMountsButton".

  • Druids - Supports Flight Form, Swift Flight Form, Travel Form and Aquatic Form, as well as normal mounts. When trying to use Flight form in the water, you may have to jump and spam the keybind to get it. You can use a flying mount while not moving at the water's surface, but Flight Form is sometimes buggy while treading water.
  • Shaman - Supports instant Ghost Wolf while moving, or cast time Ghost Wolf while indoors.
  • Priests or Mages - Supports casting Levitate or Slow Fall when you are falling, or when you are moving and in combat. Pressing the keybind a 2nd time will cancel Slow Fall or Levitate, but will also trigger a GCD. WARNING: Mashing the keybind to cast Levitate/Slowfall will also probably instantly cancel it! This is an optional feature that defaults to on, but may be turned off in the options.
  • Monks - Supports using Roll when in combat, moving or indoors.
  • Rogues - Supports using Sprint when in combat, moving or indoors.
  • Special Mounts - Supports Flying Broom, Oculus mounts, Northrend Loaned mounts, Abyssal Seahorse, Subdued Seahorse, Sea Turtle.
  • Swimming - YayMounts will use a ground mount while underwater, or a flying mount if you are at the surface.

Localization - Nespirah and L'Ghorek (in Vashj'ir) are not localized for anything except English and zhCN. Option text is not localized for anything except English.

- Dustmane Direwolf is now correctly under the Professions tab.
- Azure Water Strider was moved to Ground Mounts tab.
- Updated for 6.1 (sorry!)

- Fixed the Sea Turtle/Riding Turtle mounts. They are now found under the Special tab.

-Mounts that require skills/talents/reputation that the player lacks are visible, but disabled, in the listing
-Stripped out all the hunter aspect swapping; it's too buggy and difficult to maintain

 - Removed the Hunter option to swap Aspects during combat due to Blizzard's dislike of the dynamic re-assignment of buttons in conjunction with entering/leaving combat. I felt it was best to remove this functionality because of the overwhelming report of bugs with it, and there was simply nothing I could do to fix it in the current model of YayMounts.

 - Changed Feldrake from Scaling to Flying. Blame Blizzard. :(

    I apologize, pculmo. I have been having a very unfortunate series of bad luck this summer with regards to my computer. After fixing my GPU, something went wrong with my internet access and it took several weeks of debugging, troubleshooting, and yelling at manufactuers to try and get it fixed. I think I have it working now which means as soon as I can get it going, I'm going to be looking back on all these comments and implementing fixes as I can, as well as any new mounts.

    Again I do apologize. If there are changes you'd like to see made to the mod and you've already made them (and they do work), please feel free to post them here for other uses to add or even for myself to see if I can add it to the add on. :)

    Is this mod dead or just nobody posts?  In any event my below change was a bit flawed because after more hours of testing (to make it work with the engineering tinkers ie.  Goblin Glider etc) I was able to tell it affected Shaman Ghostwolf.  

    Since there is no mention of any interest I'll keep these changes to myself,  if anyone is interested in these tweaks let me know or send an e-mail to me on gmail.   travistbenjamin at gmail dot com

    If these change I made shouldn't  be public I applogize and if that is the case please delete my posts.

    Since there haven't been any updates in a while and I realy didn't want to give up this addon I modified code in Yaymounts.lua to allow for us engineers who tinker our cloaks with goblin glider or parachute. 

    If you want to make the same mods do the following

    Open up your interface folder\yaymounts and select Yaymounts.lua file with your favorite text editor (I use ultra edit cause its amazing)

    Look for code that deals with Mage slowfall... it will look like this .

    hey, i have an issue with the companion summoner, on the pets tab where you can select which pets are included in the pet summoner i activate only the pets i want to be summoned, but thenit still summons every pet from my journal, am i doing something wrong or is this a bug? thanks! :)

    Well, for all hunters have problem with aspect switching in combat, here my own solution

    i use Yaymount ver 1.4, update data for new mount is easy, just need to copy data file from 1.6, and fix pet summon follow guide which is already here.

    I have no problem at all, pet auto-summon, aspect switching...

    @askander_kt: may be you should look up 1.4 code for hunter, it works perfectly for me

    You know what would be cool,   to have a professions tab,   to activate  Goblin glider and Nitro boosts...

    Conditions,  low health /  pvp combat.     Just a thought.

    This is very buggy with a hunter,  even with ALL the hunter options disabled,  still see LUA errors,  just like the ones from Saandstorm.

    Downloaded and tried your addon for the first time today, could not see anything on the pet selection area and no pets appear to be linking to the keybinding set up with the addon.

    Got the pets to show up for an alt today and copied their profile and reset to the mounts I wanted on my main and all is well now. Still not sure why the default profile would not show the pets but it's working now.

    On my mage, when falling the first time I press the button assigned to Yay Mounts it casts Slow Fall. But if I accidentally press it a second time it clears Slow Fall and I crash to the ground. When I use the Slow Fall spell on it's own and click it a second time, if just recasts the spell and Slow Fall continues. Is there a reason why Yay Mount dispells the Slow Fall spell the second time it is pushed? If not, could you change that so it doesn't happen. If that is a feature previously requested, would it be possible to add an option for that in the Mage tab so some of us could have it and others could turn it off? Thanks.

    The casting/canceling of Slow Fall and other similar options (Ghost Wolf, Levitate, etc.) is intended to work that way for quick canceling access without the use of macros. There are no plans to change this in the future. The feature you're asking for would take time and I don't want to promise anything. For the time being, if accidentally clicking is a problem, I'd suggest turning the option off in your Mage Options tab and keybinding/macroing Slow Fall for your ease. :)

    I have a request.  I have disabled a few mounts that I just don't care to see.  All of the stay disabled except the dragonhawk mounts.  Can you fix it so that the red/blue dragonhawk stays disabled?

    Other than that, I love this addon.  Thank you!

    I'm not sure why the Dragonhawks are not staying disabled for you. Are you being sure to use individual profiles for your characters, if that's what you want? If you're using a default profile and are switching mounts around on your characters, it gets applied to all charaters using that default profile.
