About Yor'sahj Automatic RaidWarnings

Addon instantly showing a /raidwarning with which color ooze (globule) to kill and with what to do afterwards (like stacking up), each time the globules spawn at the Yor'sahj the Unsleeping raid encounter.

The raid warnings show the optimal solution for all three difficulty levels, based on the Yor'sahj strategy found on the Icy Veins website, with the addition that Purple will always be killed on Raid Finder and Normal difficulty, to prevent wipes caused by healers not understanding the Deep Corruption debuff.

The addon has different settings for Raid Finder, Normal, and Heroic difficulty, and will automatically switch to the correct difficulty upon entering the Dragon Soul instance. In case you change the difficulty while being inside the instance, you can switch between the three settings ingame through the following slash commands:

/yor rf - Raid Finder mode

/yor normal - Normal mode

/yor heroic - Heroic mode

/yor off - no warnings will be shown

/yor help - short help menu

This addon is especially useful if you queue as raid leader through the LookingForRaid system, or if you just want to make sure that you don't experience unnecessary wipes on this boss.

The addon is also helpful for guilds doing normal or heroic mode; especially on heroic where the enrage is tight, this addon can make a small difference.

If you happen to disagree with the default strategies for any of the difficulties, we suggest you edit the (easily editable) .lua file, so the addon will show your personal choice for each combination of globules. For the instructions to do this, just open the .lua file, and you will see them.

IMPORTANT: you need to be raid leader, or have assistant, for the /raidwarnings to show up of course!

v1.2c Upon entering Dragon Soul, the addon is now automatically set to the correct raid difficulty (raid finder, normal, heroic). Heroic mode default presets changed on a few combinations to make the fight on heroic as easy as possible for an average raid group. These new presets are final, and are based on the experience of several raiders, guides and forum posts.

v1.2b Fixed bug with warnings showing multiple times (credits to Nponobeghuk), changed 2 kill colors on HC difficulty to be in line with the Icy-Veins priority, added colored marks to the raid warnings.

v1.2a Changed kill color on two combinations on LFR to be in line with the Icy-Veins strategy.

v1.2 Working for Yor'sahj heroic mode now, also added ingame changing between 3 presets: Raid Finder mode, Normal mode and Heroic mode.

v1.1 Lua file made more user friendly to edit, with easy instructions inside.

    Is there any chance to have the double-warnings fixed?!

    Sometimes the addon does a /rw 3 or 4 times with the same thing (on the same ooze)

    If I enable more options (yell + raid + raid warning) I spam a total of 9-12 messages (and no, it's not the fake messages, I have those turned off)!

    Just wanted to ask , was the kill order for some combinations on heroic changed? Because I saw a different announcement than what I had with the previous version.

    I Think that there is an error in this combo in Heroic mode:

    -- 7.5 RF/NORMAL: BLUE, BLACK, YELLOW  --  HEROIC: BLUE, BLACK, YELLOW, PURPLE

    The addon tell to kill the Black, but in this way there is yellow (massive damage on tank and Raid) and Healing Debuff..

    It is more easy to kill the Yellow because the damage of the adds with the Black Ooze is less of the Yellow. With the Yellow the Boss doble the attack speed and tank can be heald only 4 time cause the purple debuff, so kill the Yellow.

    blue and purple aren't changed by yellow, so yes you'll get the tank debuff faster and perhaps require a tank cooldown externally, but you won't have adds beating on people that can't get healed too often due to purple.  if you have healers than are better at using not stack generating heals but bad at tank healing, change the order how it fits your group.

    also, when this order was made, boss dps would get behind if you had too many add phases, so it's not as critical unless you want to parse higher or something.

    I've checked Icy Veins and the acutal priority seems to be Yellow. Which makes sense. So looks like the addon needs an update for this.

    This is exactly what I've been thinking (and I've already edited the LUA for our raids - since we've already killed him 5 times with that and I'd rather we did not start wiping now)

     

    (furthermore - Yellow not only doubles the damage the tank takes, but it also gives the shadow bolt an AoE component which hits EVERY player - in contrast to adds, which do not fixate on everyone / and die pretty fast making the other half of this phase a breeze)

    Theres a little problem whit it on Normal, it says on Black, Green , Red kill Black and then stack well its impossible when u so have Green and Red left killed us everytime we followed the addon on this. Same goes for Green, Yellow, Red it want u to take down yellow instead of green.

    Dont know is any1 else has this problem.

    I logged on to ask about this very issue... I'm not that familiar with computer stuff, so I am afraid to mess with the LUA myself... that is, if I can even find it... could you possibly create a config feature or something? Then again, if it is rewritten so it is fixed when I install an update, then I won't have to worry about it!

     LOVE the addon, though, VERY helpful (especially in Looking For Retards)

    You must have had the addon on Raid Finder mode :)

    The new update v1.2c detects the current difficulty (rf/normal/heroic) when entering the Dragon Soul raid instance, setting it to the proper difficulty mode automatically. Hopefully this won't happen to you again!

    Suggestion for a minor change to heroic mode:

    For spellID == 105437  (HEROIC: BLUE, PURPLE, YELLOW, GREEN), you usually kill the Yellow, but if you still have adds up from spellID 105436 or 105440 (with Yellow/Black = 2 sets of adds), then the 2nd set of adds will not be dead in time.  Killing Yellow and forcing the raid to spread for Green will be a death sentence, so I've modified my version of your addon to print out "Green" to be killed instead, forcing the raid to stack and AOE the remaining 2nd set of adds from the previous ooze phase.

    I simply added a "prevSpellID" variable and set it to the current spell ID at the end of each check (make sure to initialise it at some point before the event is called).

     

    So, for the spellID == 105437, the following has changed for heroic mode:

    May be useful for any guilds having problems with this.  The only real problem is tanks getting smacked hard and the healers not being able to heal them more than 4 times because of the healing debuff... tank will most likely end up dying, but yeah, it's better than the whole raid taking damage from green + remaining adds.

     

    Edit: Explained how to set the prevSpellID variable. 

    Note: We have not tested this modification to the addon yet because of the holidays. Have not had a chance to attempt this boss in heroic mode again since the change.
