EA Mythic changing name

EA Mythic, formerly known as Mythic Entertainment is changing its name back to Mythic Entertainment. Mark Jacobs told MMORPG.com this in the two-part interview they recently published.

“We are going back to Mythic Entertainment,” said Mark Jacobs, the VP and General Manager of EA Mythic. “I’ve always been a believer of separate branding,” he continued, going on to cite a number of successful companies like Disney and GE that operate subsidiary companies under separate and distinct brands.

I agree with Mark, it’s a good decision and it really looks and somehow “feels” better when the companies get their own recognition and it’s not just one label on everything. Imagine if all Blizzard Entertainment titles would have Activision Blizzard all over them. Nah, it’s a nice thing and Mythic was already fairly famous and well known for Dark Age of Camelot, so it’s only fair.
