Warcraft 3 Fixing "Unable to initialize DirectX" Error

If you are receiving an "Unable to Initialize DirectX" message, this does not necessarily mean that DirectX is not installed. The message simply means that Warcraft III is trying to initialize the Direct3D functions required to play the game, but the system is not responding correctly. First make sure your computer meets the minimum system requirements. Warcraft III will display this message if your Video card, system memory (RAM), or processor is below minimum requirements. If you find that your system meets the requirements and you continue to get this error message, then your video card drivers may be need to be updated or reinstalled.

Six teams are going to fight for the title in the DotA-tournament. Along with three Chinese teams three international teams have been elected to compete in the tournament. Besides KS.int the teams of MYM and SK got elected but won't participate - replacements haven't been announced yet.Held at the Optic Valley Plaza in Wuhan, China, the venue has also played host to several other events like Road of the King, as well as the WSVG. While the official dates for this event is tentatively scheduled from the 24th till 27th of October, the Chinese online qualifiers took place from 6th to 15th of October.Update: The only replacement in the DotA tournament is the Indonesian team Indonesia fnatic - overall 7 teams will participate in the Make Games Colorful 2008 tournament.

Hosting Game Warcraft 3 on Battle.Net Guide

Since I know that a lot of members here have hosting issues on Battle.net, I have decided to create as best of a tutorial I can on how to host.

1. Go to Start - Run. Type in "cmd" and hit Enter. (no quotes). When the Command Prompt screen opens up, type in "ipconfig" and hit enter (no quotes). The line that says "IP Address" and "Default Gateway" are what you will be using.

2. Go into your browser and type http://, so an example would be http://192.168.11.1

3. Login to your router. Generally the account name is the company that made your router (Netgear, Linksys, DLink, Motorola, whoever the hell else makes routers), and the password is "admin" or "1234". If you don't remember, you will have to consult your manual for the password.

4. Navigate around your router and find "Virtual Server" or "Port Forwarding".

5. Set the incoming and outgoing ports to 6112-6119 (might have to make seperate exceptions for each one) and set the Protocol to TCP AND UDP.

6. If it asks for "Program Name" or something to that sort, put Battle.net (as 6112 will let you host on SC as well). If not, skip this step and continue on.

7. If it asks for the IP address, refer back to step one and use the "IP Address" that was listed when you ran IPConfig.

8. Click "Apply" or "Save", and restart your router if it asks you to.

9. Try hosting a game and having a friend join.

How to Install Warcraft III DotA

1) Get Warcraft 3 RoC and TFT and install them.

2) Once you have that installed check if it's working.

3) Update your TFT patch to the current version (1.22a) with this guide, Read for the problem before ask..^_^

4) Make a folder in your C:/Program Files/Warcraft 3/Maps/Download

5) go to http://www.getdota.com and download the latest DotA map or you can download old map in this link

6) Save it to your download folder in C:/Program Files/Warcraft 3/Maps/Download

7) Run your TFT and click single player > custom game > go to your download folder and click on your DotA map and press start game.

8) Now you should have DotA installed in your warcraft you can go play in Battle.net and you should have warcraft 3 loader for battle.net. you ca visit this link
