The development team here at Curse has been hard at work on the Curse Client 4.0.

Crunch Gear was given a sneak peak at the newest alpha client, 4.0. It's been entirely rewritten to optimize performance, speed, and usability. Of course it's going to pack in some new features as well. It's only in Alpha so we can only share this screen shot of the updated UI.

I also wanted to take the opportunity to post a screenshot of our upcoming mac client. Our mac users are important to us, and as a result most of my time has been monopolized by working on the new v4 Mac client. It's a completely native Cocoa app targeting 10.4 and will run on both intel and PPC macs. It's not as far along feature wise as the windows client, but again, I did want to make sure people know that it is actively being worked on.

Mac Update 7/24

I just updated with an extra screenshot from today's alpha release. So please check it out. I hope you guys agree it's starting to come together. :)

With the Curse Client installed, your game addons will be kept up-to-date, as they are delivered directly from authors hosting their projects at CurseForge!

This latest version is the most polished yet, correcting all known issues that the community has reported and adding filters to the Find an Addon tool.

You can download the Curse Client directly from http://media5.curse.com/dl2/CurseSetup-2.0.0.1.exe... or from WARDB.

Please report any issues you find at http://testclient.curse.com/

Note: This is a beta version of the new Curse Client, so please feel free to provide any feedback or suggestions you have, as well as bug reports!

We have been hard at work providing many fixes and optimizations to the new client and are getting ready to do a patch in the coming weeks with all our hard work packed into it.

We are making available a beta release to the public. At this time most of the bugs have worked out and we are considering this beta for an actual release, however it is a beta and we may have not yet solved all issues. If you would like to participate you can download the latest Curse Client Beta Setup by clicking below.

 Download the beta here.

mmolecule has 500 closed beta keys for Age of Conan: Hyborian Adventures, one of the most anticipated MMOs to be released in 2008! Starting today mmolecule members will be eligible to win their chance to get in on the closed beta. Becoming eligible is easy - read below for details!

Already a mmolecule member?
If you are already a mmolecule member, you just have to edit your member profile and add Age of Conan: Hyborian Adventures to your game list. When you do that, you will be eligible for your chance to win! It's that easy!

Not a mmolecule member?
If you do not already have a mmolecule membership, you can create one for free here. When you have created your account, fill out your member profile and be sure to add Age of Conan: Hyborian Adventures to your game list. Blamo! You are now eligible to win a closed beta key!

When do I find out if I won a key?
Every night, starting Tuesday April 22nd, mmolecule will announce groups of winners in the mmolecule Age of Conan forums. They will do this until all keys have been awarded. If you win a key, they will also contact you via email with details on what you will need to do next.

Contest Rules
It just wouldn't be a contest without some rules. Please read below.

1.	You must be a mmolecule member to be eligible.
2.	You must have Age of Conan: Hyborian adventures added to your game list on your member profile to be eligible.
3.	Only one beta key will be awarded to each winner / account.
4.	Winners will be chosen randomly from the list of eligible contestants.
5.	Winners will be notified via email by a mmolecule representative.
6. Winners may not be a journalist or blogger on video game topics.
7. Winners must not work for competitors of Funcom / Eidos.
8. Winners must be at least 17 years of age.
9.	mmolecule staff members are not eligible for the giveaway.

Remember, this is a closed beta, so winners must refrain from publically revealing details of the game! If mmolecule or Funcom / Eidos discover any violations your accounts / keys will be revoked!

Good luck and happy gaming!

Additional "V4" Beta Invites Have Gone Out!

Greetings everyone!

The beta period to preview, bug test and help improve the new Curse "v4" website has begun. At this point, we have sent out invitational emails to active website contributors who have been selected as part of the initial core team to help test out every aspect of the new website. We are pleased to be this far in the development cycle and equally excited about all of the new features, services and layouts we are able to offer you.

We encourage anyone who gets the invitation email to thoroughly test, and re-test the beta website and submit any bugs and feedback to our development team in order for them to create the best website possible.

Please be aware that the website is still in a very early beta stage, so the development team is still continuously updating, editing, modifying and improving pages such as submission forms or other templates. That said; please submit bugs on any forms you find not working, so that there's no possibility of something being missed.

With that we wish you a happy bug hunt and an enjoyable browsing experience!

~ The Curse Team.

It has been a very interesting and fun process, and I am glad to be able to say that we will be bringing you more and more exclusive content, contests, information and game testing opportunities as the months move forward.

First up on our list is to create a database listing of guilds interested in beta testing MMOs, sorted by region - US and EU. In order to sign up your guild, visit http://www-en.curse-gaming.com/messag.../nimloth/ and send me a message containing the following information and formatting:

Region(EU or US)

Guildname

http://GuildWebsiteURL.com

Guild Contact Name

Guild Contact Emailaddress

Guild Type (Raider,Roleplayer,Casual,PvP)

Once this information is filled in and the information is sent to me, we will store this information in our database and hand out to our developer partners as they close in on beta status for their game.

Please note: While signing up your guild here will not produce an immediate email confirmation from any Beta programs -- your guild will be contacted by our partners when they are ready for it.

On behalf of the Curse Staff and our partners, we wish you good luck with Beta Access!
