Darkfall

Ork race page updated at the official site

Progress on the official darkfall site has been steady. They've been updating the race, monster and some other pages on the site, and they even changed the design a bit. The most recent update was the Ork race page. The lore has been rewritten, and new screenshots have been added.

A couple of new dwarf pictures have appeared on the official site, too. You can check out all of the new screenshots in our gallery. Here are a few examples :

I'll be happy on release day, that days the day I'll be able to realease WoW A.K.A. Hello Kitty Online, and go into a real game with real PvP for the more hardcore scene (I hope)

Is beta still said to be around this summer?

Yea, they kinda announced a beta by the end of this summer. And IMO, these are the reasons they have less of a chance to miss this time:

    1. They've been updating the official site alot. You might have noticed this by looking at darkfall @ curse portal news. I don't think they've updated the official site this much since it was created

    2. They have alot more experience and don't want to screw up again and get even worse reputation then they have. I think Tasos was pretty confident when he said "this summer"

NeosliveR: thing is, DnL was rushed, and you had to pay to enter beta. These guys are taking their time and they aren't taking anyone's money. If they start doing that (which is highly doubtful), I'll become more than suspicious

Greatjob: When and how did you hear about the game, btw ?

Dnl wasn't really rushed, i remember hearing of it like 4 year before it's release they just had to sell it because they just didn't had enough money to finish the developement wich is what happen to all those little developement team. no money no quality :(

Well it was the same thing in the beginning with these guys, they started as Razorwax, but then they merged with Aventurine and got a steady flow of money going into development.

"No money, no quality" isn't always true. People can do amazing things with low budgets.

I'd suggest you check out these games if you think that:

http://www.projectoffset.com/team.html - They started out as 3 guys and after making an amazing engine, more people joined them. They are still a small team compared to some companies though. The game is not playable yet

http://taleworlds.com/ - really fun game developed by a wife and a husband. The only thing that the game misses is multiplayer. Btw, Darkfall combat is supposed to be similar to this game

    @Jarlaxle

Someone mentioned it on Totse a good while ago, when I was talking about WoW. Ever since I've been in the Darkfall chatroom picking up all the info on the game (chatroom is on website). It looked amazing and I've been keeping up with it ever since.

Good to hear that WoW players take interest in more hardcore PvP. I bet you aren't the only one either

Btw what was your name in the Darkfall chat room ?

People usually don't talk about the game much there, mostly off topic stuff since a community has developed and most of the people there almost forgot about Darkfall (because of its delays)
