    * The tutorial feature will only be available to characters created after the release of the September 2008 version update.

The artifact quests for the following jobs can now be undertaken multiple times. This allows players to reacquire pieces of artifact armor as they see fit:
Blue Mage / Corsair / Puppetmaster

New quests leading to the acquisition of new job-specific weapon skills have been added.
    * Please note, however, that giving job-specific weapons to the care of storage NPC Ghanraam in Aht Urhgan Whitegate will cause all data associated with the quest to be reset.

Chocobos are now available for rental in the following areas of past Vana'diel:
    South San d'Oria (S) / Bastok Markets (S) / Windurst Waters (S) / Jugner Forest (S) / Pashhow Marshlands (S) / Meriphataud Mountains (S)
    * Players must be a minimum of level 20, in possession of a "Chocobo License" key item, and be affiliated with one of the armies of the three nations to be eligible to rent a chocobo. Rental fees will be charged in Allied Notes rather than gil.

    • The types of armor worn by fellows have been increased.
    • The food effects of meals obtainable after completion of the quest, "Mixed Signals," have been changed.

    • A battlefield marking the end of the mythic weapon questline has been added.
    • The number of pieces of alexandrite required to complete the quest "Duties, Tasks, and Deeds" has been reduced. Consequently, the quantity and rate of alexandrite drops has also been adjusted.

Level restrictions no longer prevent players from equipping gear of a level beyond that restriction.

Enemies which check as "easy prey" and "decent challenge" now yield more experience points when defeated.

    • New Campaign Ops have been added.

Items: Black Mine / Paralyzing Tube / Silencing Tube / Binding Tube

The following adjustments have been made to the "Nyzul Isle Investigation" Assault:

    • Progress data within Nyzul Isle will no longer be erased following the completion of the 100th floor objective. As a trade-off for this change, however, the drop rate for armor has been reduced and is no longer 100%.
    • Players in possession of the "Runic Key" key item can now select any floor between 1 ~ 96 (in increments of 5) to begin a new investigation.
    • Floor data will now be recorded for all players rather than only the player who activated the "Rune of Transfer." For their progress data to be updated, players must begin the mission on a floor equal to or lesser than the maximum level currently recorded on their disc. Provided this condition is met, progress data will automatically be updated each time a previously uncharted level is completed.
    • Certain weapons previously obtainable only from monsters on the 100th floor will now be dropped by other monsters in Nyzul Isle as well. Also, defeating the monsters on the 100th floor will now result in two weapons being dropped. One weapon will be randomly determined, while the other will match the job of the player who activated the Rune of Transfer (regardless of whether this is the player in possession of the Runic Key or not).

The status effect icon associated with the Monk job ability "Footwork" has been changed.

The Scholar job ability "Modus Veritas" can no longer be used on monsters without a helix status in effect.

The dancer and scholar jobs have each received a new job-specific merit point category.

    • Items and equipment specific to the Blue Mage, Corsair, and Puppetmaster jobs have been added.
    • The drop rate of relic armor in Dynamis has been adjusted. Rates for the following areas in particular have been increased:
      Dynamis – Beaucedine / Dynamis – Xarcabard / Dynamis – Valkurm / Dynamis – Buburimu / Dynamis – Qufim / Dynamis - Tavnazia

Adjustments have been made to Jailer of Love, Absolute Virtue (and pets), and Pandemonium Warden (and pets) in areas such as HP value and behavior. Absolute Virtue and Pandemonium Warden will now vanish two hours after their appearance, automatically ending the battle. In addition, the spawn rate for Absolute Virtue has been increased to 100%.

The strength of Luaith, the NM appearing in the Tavnazian Archipelago's Sacrarium, has been adjusted.

The strength of Zeni NMs will now gradually be adjusted after a predetermined amount of time has elapsed following their being claimed.

    September Version Update Preview

Posted Sep 03, 2008 by Zyuu
    Filed in Final Fantasy XI

Adventurers of all stripes can look forward to enhancements galore in the upcoming September version update, designed to make questing in Vana'diel more gratifying than ever!
If the first preview wasn't enough to whet your appetite, today we have the latest scoop on increased experience and the Myriad Arms of Balrahn quest sequence that will at long last allow players to forge these mysterious and highly anticipated mythic weapons.

    Experience Boost

Loyal readers already know that the new Level Sync system and automatic scaling-down of equipment will add a heretofore unheard-of level of freedom to party-based adventuring, but that isn't the least of it! With the new version update, there will be more experience to be had as well!

Previously, enemies classified as "easy prey" or "a decent challenge" would provide a relatively paltry amount of experience points, leaving career-minded adventurers understandably dismayed. No more, however! Vanquishing these monsters will now lead to substantially larger helpings of EXP, to better reward players for braving the challenges these still-formidable foes present.

Information on the Level Sync system and equipment scaling can be found here.

"Nyzul Isle Investigation" Gets an Overhaul

The mythic weapon and new weapon skill quests have previously (07/29/2008) been introduced in this space. Today, we'd like to bring you the latest details on these quests that have the potential to transform you into one of the most lethal adventurers in the realm.

The conditions for embarking upon the new weapon skill quests will be twofold: you must be enlisted as a mercenary in Salaheem's Sentinels, and you must be in possession of the job-specific weapon from the "Nyzul Isle Investigation" Assault mission.
The requirements for completing these quests will vary depending on how far you have progressed in Nyzul Isle, so it will behoove adventurers to be thorough in their reconnaissance of that murky labyrinth.

At the same time, an assortment of tweaks will be made to ensure that the mission goes smoothly:

[#1] Greatly increased chance of receiving your job-specific weapon!

Previously, only the nastiest adversaries in the darkest, dankest reaches of Nyzul Isle (Level 100) would part with the job-specific weapons adventurers seek. Now, there is a possibility that foes on other floors will drop these weapons as well, while defeating the denizens of Level 100 will guarantee you two job-specific weapons: one randomly selected, and one matching the job of the player who operated the Rune of Transfer (the latter regardless of whether or not that player also possesses the Runic Key.)

[#2] Progress saved to Runic Disc to be retained!

Previously, your recorded data would be reset upon completing Level 100 of the mission, reducing your Runic Disc to a rather expensive paperweight until such time as you begin the mission anew. No longer, however, as your progress data will now remain intact even after cleansing the Isle of its most deadly inhabitants, allowing you to return to the most challenging levels for another chance at the weapon you seek!

[#3] Players who have already cleared Level 100 need not fear!

Brave adventurers who have already explored every nook and cranny of Nyzul Isle, do not fear—your achievements will not go for naught! Even if your progress data has already been cleared, the Runic Key itself will now serve as an express ticket to any level of the Isle (in increments of five) up to Level 96, giving you free rein to traverse the area as you see fit!

[#4] Progress data to be stored for all party members!

With the new version update, floor data will be recorded and updated for all players, not only those who directly operate the Rune of Transfer.

For their progress data to be updated, players must begin the mission on a floor equal to or lesser than the maximum level currently recorded on their disc. Provided this condition is met, progress data will automatically be updated each time a previously uncharted level is completed.

That sums up the major changes planned for the Nyzul Isle Investigation in the upcoming version update.

Players who have already embarked upon the quest sequence for their mythic weapon may tackle the new weapon skill quests concurrently. Those players who have already received their Nyzul weapon and entrusted it to Abquhbah, however, are encouraged to travel back to the Isle and acquire the weapon once more.

    * Abquhbah will return your weapon if asked politely, but please note that this will result in all mythic weapon quest data from "Duties, Tasks, and Deeds" onward being cleared from your record.

    New Level Sync Feature

Posted Aug 25, 2008 by Zyuu
    Filed in Final Fantasy XI

The FFXI development team has announced the "Level Sync" system, a new feature in the upcoming version update that will allow all players—grizzled veterans and novices alike—to adventure and gain experience together regardless of level differences.

The new Level Sync system is the result of extensive discussions on how to resolve these concerns, while preserving game balance and avoiding abuse and power-leveling by RMT groups. It addresses the issues that have resulted from a steady stream of new, low-level players joining an existing game world populated by scores of high-level veterans, and is part of the ongoing effort to clean up the FFXI community and remove players in violation of the users' agreement.

At the heart of the feature is the new ability for members of a party to "power down" to the level of a designated target player. Now friends will be able to adventure together and gain experience as if they were all the same level!

With the introduction of this system, there will also be major changes to the way equipment is handled in regard to level restrictions. Rather than automatically unequipping items if a player's level is reduced below the item's minimum level, the attributes of high-level equipment will be scaled down proportionally to the reduced level.

This will apply not only to the Level Sync system, but to all level-restricted areas and missions. This means that players will now be able to participate in various battlefields, Assault missions, and Ballista, and also to adventure in level-capped areas such as Riverne without the hassle of having to switch equipment!

Read on for more details about how the Level Sync system will work, and examples of how equipment and experience-gaining will be affected.

Boss in FFXi Takes Over 18 Hours to Defeat?

Posted Aug 14, 2008 by Zyuu
    Filed in Final Fantasy XI

In Final Fantasy XI there's one boss that "stands above all" which is the Pandemonium Warden. A guild by the name of BeyondTheLimitation formed a raid and attempted to defeat said foe and spent over 18 hours on "it". Apparently the boss change forms and after twenty times of changing the guild simply gave up. Raiding for 18 hours without a break isn't exactly very healthy. It gets even better though, according to FFXI's very own warning's message, it states:

Exploring Vana'diel is a thrilling experience. During your time here, you will be able to talk, join, and adventure with many other individuals in an experience that is unique to online games. That being said, we have no desire to see your real life suffer as a consequence. Don't forget your family, your friends, your school, or your work.

This is amusing, since it does not mention your health in it.

    Dynamis and Limbus Makeover

Posted Aug 04, 2008 by Zyuu
    Filed in Final Fantasy XI

All-new features to both Dynamis and Limbus will come in the September version update. Also, a few adjustments will be made by popular demand. Read more about it below.

Blue mage / Corsair / Puppetmaster Artifacts and Relics

At long last, the highly anticipated relic gear sets of the blue mage, corsair, and puppetmaster jobs are here! Rounding out the standard 5-piece sets, the more recently added back and waist items will also be added to September's version update. Players with these jobs can now look forward to obtaining the ingredient items required to temper their artifact and relic gear with even greater enhancements!

When considering how to best introduce this equipment, the development team weighed many options, including the possibility of entirely original methods. In the end, however, the decision was made that such means would be largely unfair by rendering only players with these jobs capable of accessing new game content. Therefore, all of the above items will be procured in the same way as their predecessors, namely via exploits in the Dynamis and Limbus areas.

    Drop Rates

Great care has been put into assuring that current drop rates will see no negative impact from the introduction of the new blue mage, corsair, and puppetmaster gear sets. Players can rest easy knowing that any and all necessary adjustments to the drop rate ratios have been considered and implemented to maintain a fair and balanced game experience. Furthermore, the overall drop rates of select Dynamis areas, covering the relic gear of all jobs old and new, are set to be raised as well.

    Entry Fees

In light of the additions and adjustments detailed above, the entry fees for both Dynamis and Limbus were also brought under careful reconsideration. Thanks in part to the ground being made by the Special Task Force in combating RMT-related activities, and subsequent normalization of the game economy, the following reduction in price to entry items will be implemented in the upcoming September version update.

    • Timeless Hourglass: 1,000,000 gil -> 500,000 gil
    • Cosmo-Cleanse: 30,000 gil -> 15,000 gil

Wings of the Goddess Nation Quests

Posted Aug 04, 2008 by Zyuu
    Filed in Final Fantasy XI

Wing of the Goddess expansion introduced brand new "episodic quests" and they are set to continue in the upcoming September version update. You will find yourself in the middle of furious struggles for the continued survival of each nation. Sounds good, dynamic quests are great! Have you checked out the new quests yet?

    San d'Oria

Having borne witness to the real horrors of the battlefield, Tavnazia-bound Excenmille makes the executive decision to disband the Young Griffons in the interest of his friends' safety. Bitterly disappointed at their captain's sudden change of heart and eager to prove him wrong, the ever-zealous remaining members embark on an ambitious mission that will see them come face to face with a fiendish Orcish plot...

    Bastok

Trouble is brewing in the republic as Galkan discontent towards the Hume government and the imperious military police threatens to boil over into all-out civil war. To make matters worse, fueling the fire of rebellion is an unlikely culprit—a sworn brother of the proud Mythril Musketeers. With the unity and morale of the citizens crumbling and the security of the nation compromised from within, will Bastok's defenses be able to hold out should the unthinkable occur...?

    Windurst

Although victorious over the Yagudo Theomilitary at Fort Karugo-Narugo, the Windurstian Forces have been left nursing grievous wounds to their ranks. The Mithran Mercenaries, however, could not have chosen a more inopportune time to engage in internal feuding. Old rivalries are reignited as Cobra Command transforms from the city's last bastion of defense into a savage battlefield...

Long awaited "June" patch goes live

    Filed in Final Fantasy XI

The long awaited patch for Final Fantasy XI is out. It's referred to as "The June Version Update".

Expect new missions for the Wings of the Goddess storyline, further involving you and giving answers to questions previously eft unanswered. There's several new campaign elements such as additional medals and ranks, which is a great addition and should keep players quite busy.

There's many adjustments to battle-related elements such as merit points and jobs. If you enjoy chocobo raising, you can enjoy new content. Slaying Notorious Monsters might be more your cup of tea, if it is, you'll be pleased, since SquareSoft have added several new encounters.

There's much much more added to the world of Vana'diel and I suggest you read the whole patch notes.

    New Notorious Monsters

Posted Jun 06, 2008 by Zyuu
    Filed in Final Fantasy XI

They are finally introducing new Notorious Monsters to areas in the upcoming expansion pack, Treasures of Aht Urhgan. This expansion is will be available in the forthcoming version update.

Another change is that it will be much more simplified on how to access the battlefields of these Notorious Monsters, making it easier and more pleasant for players to attempt defeating them.

A Word from the Development Team

NM battles have been one of the most popular elements of FFXI since its launch. Nothing stirs the adventurer's soul quite the same way as cooperating with dependable comrades to overcome seemingly insurmountable odds, with rare equipment drops being the very tasty icing on the cake.

Thus far, however, getting the chance to battle NMs has been almost as difficult a task as fighting the creatures themselves. One often needed a lot of time and plenty more luck to successfully arrange an encounter with the creatures. In light of the ever-increasing number of fan requests for more opportunities to do battle against powerful monsters and reap the rewards, the development team has decided to implement some changes to make the excitement of NMs—even those of the same caliber as particularly infamous varieties inhabiting Tu'Lia and Al'Taieu—more accessible to all.

    Overview of the New System

Carrying out requests from a certain NPC will earn you points which, when accumulated, can be exchanged for NM trigger items. The cost of these triggers will fluctuate based on the corresponding NM's difficulty level and popularity among adventurers. A limit will also be imposed on the number of points that can be earned in one Vana'dielian day (one Earth hour). Even with the above conditions in place, obtaining triggers under this new system should be relatively pain-free, especially when compared to fulfilling the elaborate requirements of some existing NM battles.

    • Please note that this point system is applicable only to select new NMs scheduled to appear from the June version update.

In order to maximize flexibility in participant numbers, in most cases the target to which you trade triggers in order to gain entry into battlefields will be located in field areas.

    Rewards

Over fifty new types of equipment will be made available as exclusive drops for defeating these new NMs. Here are just a few samples to whet your ravenous adventurer's appetite.

Swamp Stampede Story & Special Task Force Report

    Filed in Final Fantasy XI

In Final Fantasy XI rumor has it that a large flock of chocobos has been seen galloping out at the Pashhow Marshlands at breakneck speed. But that's not all, readers. Our source tells us that a hodgepodge assemblage of monsters—yes, monsters—has also been witnessed thundering alongside these flightless avians with equally impressive tenacity. What in the name of Altana is going on?

While delving deep into this mystery, one of our reporters was able to make contact with an adventurer claiming insider status to this bizarre occurrence. Only on the condition of anonymity did this individual reluctantly agree to an interview. And now, for the first time, the nature of the secret conversation between our reporter and the adventurer known only as "Deep Moat" will be revealed to the public.

    Check out the story here.

    Special Task Force Report

The most recent report show statistics and information about players that have violated the user agreement and some information is shared about updated policy's.

    Regarding unauthorized third-party access

On April 23, Square Enix's policy regarding unauthorized access was updated.

Before the changes to this policy were implemented, it took a considerable amount of time for items to be recovered. However, due to the changes made, we were able to reduce the time required starting from the time a report is received to the time relief measures have completed by about a week. Additionally, we have also provided a larger selection of recovery points for players whose game data has been lost. In the previous policy, only certain items could be recovered, but with the new changes, game data is restored to its former state, shortening the amount of time necessary for relief measures and allowing us to adequately respond to most problems.

If your account has been accessed by unauthorized third parties and you have halted gameplay due to a loss of items or gil, please contact the Information Center after reading through the page on unauthorized access.

    Banned & Suspended Accounts

We would like to report the termination today of multiple accounts held by players involved in the usage of third-party tools or cheats, or engaged in RMT (Real Money Trading) activities.

Based on the results of our investigation, around 7,620 PlayOnline accounts were terminated while around 1,660 accounts were temporarily suspended. Additionally, we have increased the number of mass bannings against certain PlayOnline violations in order to prevent illegal acts.

New Additions and Changes to Campaign

Posted May 26, 2008 by Zyuu
    Filed in Final Fantasy XI

The next version for Final Fantasy XI is scheduled to be out in June. We've previously posted about some of the changes that will happen; Part 1 of Adjustments for June Version & Part 2 of Adjustments for June Version.

This time we're going to share some information about new additions to the Campaign system, as well as several changes to existing elements.

    Physicians

A new group of NPCs known as physicians will be introduced to both sides of the Campaign lineup, serving dutifully to heal and tend to their battle-wounded allies. Various oaths of non-violence prevent the physicians from engaging in open combat, and they will resort to fighting only as a means of self-defense when attacked directly. Otherwise, they will patrol the field of battle, seeing to the needs of combatants by bestowing upon them various spells of healing and enhancement.

Medals Currently, the most distinguished medal available in commendation of a character's meritorious service in the name of Altana is the "Emblem of the Holy Knight." The next version update however, will see an expansion of the medal system, and with it a total of four new medals to recognize even greater prestige. Accordingly, new and more difficult Campaign Ops will also be introduced, as well as several new items obtainable through exchange for Allied Notes.

Exchanging Points for Wares from Other Nations

Until now, players have only been capable of exchanging their Allied Notes to procure items offered by the nation with which they are aligned. A modification to this system, in the same vein as that made previously to the Conquest system, will now allow for the acquisition of wares from any nation. Players can, however, expect a slight markup in price when dealing with a nation other than their own. In addition to the changes outlined above, a number of other features will be implemented, including new quests involving Campaign freelance NPCs, technical adjustments to the army units of both the Allied Forces and Beastman Confederate, and the addressing of various other minor issues.

Part 2 of Adjustments for June Version

The second preview of what's to come in the June update to Final Fantasy XI have been posted by SquareSoft. You can expect changes to nomad moogles in Sebila & Mhaura, also adjustments to how the supply quests works.

Nomad Moogles in Selbina and Mhaura

After considering the continuing influx of new players, the changes made to the offer requirements for several quests, and the special task force's efforts in maintaining a fair and balanced playing environment, we have decided that the inclusion of nomad moogles and delivery NPCs in Selbina and Mhaura will prove to be a beneficial addition to the game. Look forward to these new arrivals in the next version update!

    Supply Quest Records

As you are no doubt aware, in order to make use of the regional teleport services, it is first necessary to complete a supply quest to the outpost in question. We will be implementing a change wherein along with your mission rank and conquest points, a record of completed supply quests will now be retained even after transferring your allegiance to another nation.

    Item Autosort Function

This particular function has been requested many times by the community, and is scheduled to be implemented along with the various other adjustments introduced in recent Topics.

As well as the difficulties encountered in preventing potential misuse, we have avoided the implementation of this function in the past in order to prevent confusion for crafters—items carefully separated for synthesis would have been forcibly stacked.

However, with the same consideration given to the placement of nomad moogles in Selbina and Mhaura, we believe that the current stability of FINAL FANTASY XI allows for this feature to be introduced without adversely affecting gameplay.

Players will be provided with the option to deactivate automatic sorting as part of the new function we have planned.

Part 1 of Adjustments for June Version

    Filed in Final Fantasy XI

Squaresoft have released information of their plans for the upcoming patch to Final Fantasy XI that will be released in June. Some of the changes that will be introduced is armor storage, synthesis and furnishing.

Sidenote: We've updated our Final Fantasy XI portal somewhat.

    Synthesis

Our fans often describe HQ item synthesis as a fulfilling yet occasionally frustrating process. Taking such voices to heart, following lengthy deliberation, the developers have decided to add new synthesis enhancement items as the reward for guild contract quests. While using these items, you will not be able to create an HQ item, but you will receive an overall success rate bonus for synthesis.

The positive effects of these items are expected to span beyond merely improving your success rate in synthesis. The raising of synthesis skills should become that much more enjoyable an experience, and certain items should become more affordable than before.

These synthesis enhancement items are a must-have for masters and apprentices alike!

    Armor Storage

The release of the Wings of the Goddess expansion saw the addition of several new sets of armor. To accommodate this increase, the following armor sets will become storable by talking to specific NPCs:

    Pahluwan / Yigit / Amir

    Furnishings

Since it became possible to invite friends over to your Mog House, we've been seeing more and more adventurers taking an active interest in their furnishings in a friendly contest of affluence with neighbors. Amidst this recent trend, it has come to our attention that the function of some furnishings was not proportional to cost, resulting in them being largely ignored by players.

To rectify this issue, and ultimately improve the living standard for adventurers, a number of furnishings will receive adjustments to attributes such as storage capacity and effects. Detailed information on these changes will be announced upon the release of the next version update.

    Odin World Character Population

Posted Apr 16, 2008 by Zyuu

    ffxiX

The population of Final Fantasy XI have been steadily growing and SquareEnix have just released information surrounding it that is quite interesting.

This May, FINAL FANTASY XI will celebrate its sixth year of official service. At present, FINAL FANTASY XI boasts a total of 32 Worlds populated by 1.7 million characters and half a million registered users. Along with the release of the Wings of the Goddess expansion, these numbers continue to grow. The long-awaited World Transfer Service and the ability to select the World in which to create a character have also been well-received and widely used since their implementation last year.

This continued increase in characters and the advent of unrestricted World selection has led to overpopulation in certain Worlds.

When compared with the average numbers of 55,000 characters and between 15,000 and 16,000 users per World, the Odin World in particular stands out with a staggering 70,000 characters and 23,000 registered users as of the end of March.

Ordinarily, the overall prosperity and activity of a World is improved in proportion to the size of its population. However, a situation of overcrowding can create game balance issues, such as struggles to claim ordinary monsters and Notorious Monsters, as well as aggravate economic problems. In the worst case scenario, a situation can occur where the restriction on the number of simultaneous connections creates login problems, changing areas becomes a lengthy or limited process, or a limit is placed on the creation of new characters.

To avoid these very issues, a free World Transfer was offered to the inhabitants of Odin. While many players accepted this offer, the situation of overpopulation remains relatively severe.

With quality of service first and foremost in mind, the development and management teams are devising solutions to this problem on Odin and other Worlds. Removal from the list of destinations for a World Transfer or the list of Worlds available on the character creation screen, as well as continuing to provide free World Transfer services, are some of the ideas being considered for overpopulated Worlds.

We hope that our players will also take these factors into consideration when utilizing the World Transfer Service or choosing a world for their new character.

Thank you for your continued understanding and cooperation.

    Job and Battle System Adjustments

Posted Mar 07, 2008 by Zyuu
    Filed in Final Fantasy XI
    2942_3

Several changes to the job and battle system in Final Fantasy XI will be included in the next upcoming patch. There's quite a few new and changed things for the coming patch. I might have to make a summarized news post with everything that is planned to be included.

    New Magic and Job Abilities

A host of new magic and job abilities will be added to a number of jobs for the next version update. For example, teleport spells for the white mage, a warp spell for the black mage, sneak ninjutsu for the ninja, elemental spirit MP absorption ability for the summoner, and new automaton weapon skills for the puppetmaster.

Additions and adjustments are also in store for the two new jobs introduced in the Wings of the Goddess expansion.

    2942_4

For the dancer, adjustments will include shortened ability delay to six seconds for all waltzes used when trance is in effect. Adjustments for the scholar will see an increase in the maximum number of charges available for stratagems, and a reduction in charge time.

Apart from job abilities, new status-specific status icons will be also introduced to further enhance playability.

    Shortened Immobility Duration

The issue whereby certain restoration magic causes the character to become temporarily immobile, will be addressed. Up until now, casting cure on a character immediately after they initiate the attack command will result in that character becoming unable to move until spellcasting is complete, even after they have assumed battle stance. This immobility duration will be reduced drastically with the next version update.

Information about what else is in store for the next Final Fantasy XI patch scheduled to be out this month (March) have been released. Overall this patch seems to bring quite a lot of new and revamped things.

    Emotes

Due to popular demand, the following new emote commands will be added. Now you can dance just like a real dancer, regardless of job, location, or situation! /dance1 /dance2 /dance3 /dance4

    Pankration

It will be possible to summon the following monster families captured with fiendtrappers: Gear, Rampart, Chariot, Soulflayer.

    Adventurer Recruitment Program

New items, "Sol Cap" and "Lunar Cap," will be offered as special gift items in the Adventurer Recruitment Program.

Details regarding the terms and conditions to obtain special gift items can be found here.

-The Lunar Cap is scheduled to be added to special gift item list (A).

-The Sol Cap is scheduled to be added to special gift item list (B).

    New Items

The "Emperor Band" will be added to the list of enchanted items that offer a bonus to experience points or limit points. Along with existing items, "Empress Band" and "Chariot Band," the "Emperor Band" can be obtained by trading your individual conquest points. Please note, however, that only one of the above three can be equipped at any given time.
