Premium Curse?

Why are we going to pay for the client?

Why should we pay for a service that they got us on here by promoting that it was FREE and easy to use? I don't get what is going on here, ya they need to pay for the site, get adds like they have and  offer no adds to the people who care (Like thye did) I think they are just getting greedy! BULL CRAP as far as I am concerned, and very soon they will not have many members.

Plain and simple, they aren't getting my money. I pay enough to play this game and paying for an enhanced client is not in my plans. Yep, sure sucks having to sit here and download each individually, I personally think it's a cheap way to get people to pay, but we all have a choice and I choose not to pay for a feature like that.

To each their own, I always say. If you choose to pay, then that's your choice, if not, then it's your choice. Stand by what you believe is worth your money. In today's times, every penny counts, so an unnecessary cost for a feature that is nice but not necessary, and already functional, just isn't going to pull me in. I will take the time to individually download. Like it takes a blisteringly long time, lol. Sorry Curse.

    wowmatrix is not dead

wowinsider has an article about their version of 'who abused who'

When curse launched the new version of the client, they were very clear from inception that premium features would be free for a limited time.  Now that the free period is over, everyone faces a choice.  What isn't a choice is to decide what is free and what is fee-based.  You are free to update add-ons one at a time, you are free to manually update them without the client.  However, if you desire the ease and convenience of automatic and one-button updates... guess what, there is VALUE in that offering, you have the option of subscribing to premium.  You are complaining that after the free samples are gone, you must pay for your meal.

It's really bad for those that like to modify their interface wich often takes at least 4-5 add-ons then the add-ons that makes life easier like auctioneer... I could let it all download while I was doing something else... now I have to sit next to my pc and klick on every add-on manually since it won't let me update more then 1 at the same time... I really can spend my time better elsewhere...

Maybe would have payed if the price was reasonable but...

People are still bitching about this?

There is no charge for the client, it's free!  There are features you can choose to pay for, but otherwise it will do what you need it to and it's paid for by the ads you never click on.

Yes, the client used to suck.  But they are working on it and the current one is quite decent.  They are past that "get it functional" phase and moving toward the "cool features" phase.  Software development is slow going when you're working on so many projects at once so cut them some slack and be glad there is a free option for you.

Wowmatrix is dead.  They abused the community and Curse in particular.  They doomed themselves from the outset and they are dead.  What did you expect?

    Quite your endless bitching.

I agree completely. I used to use the client, but it was not very functional. I finally went with wowmatrix, and it has served me well for a very long time. Now Curse blocked wowmatrix so we would be forced to pay for their semi-functional client. Why should I pay for a client that doesn't support more than a third of my addons? Now I'm stuck with two clients that don't work and you guys seriously expect me to pay for that? Thanks!
