Lord of The Rings Online

MMO Game of the Year 2007

It seems that Lord of the Rings Online has made quite the impression on the guys over at Gamespy as they award Lord of the Rings Online the prestigious PC MMO Game of the Year of 2007.

The game was released to a mixed reception, being hailed as the next big MMORPG by most but despite the hype and the rave reviews Turbine managed to garner with LotRO, it still hasn't topped World of Warcraft in subscription numbers.

The Lord of the Rings Online delivers a remarkably rich, interactive game and community experience and we are honored to have the editors of GameSpy choose it as both the PC MMO Game of the Year and one of the Top 10 PC Games of 2007. Receiving this award is a true honor and we look forward to providing our global community with even more compelling content, features and interactive experiences in 2008 and beyond.

Good to see another game finally getting up there, although WoW will be a tough one to beat. Looks like Warhammer is the next Contender coming up to fight the champion, lets see how the rounds end up with them.

    That game sucks
Turbine dont know how to make good games, as all americans companies anyway

Lord of the rings was the only BIG untouched fantasy business still unused as a MMO, just if you can imagine how could a real good LoTRO game be...PvP, Siege, the enormous tolkien world, the biggest RPG of all times...battle for the middle earth...pvp both factions...

it will never match or accomplish half of the things WoW did/has even tho its an 5 year old engine with and a pretty stupid provider-client service ( Telia in Europe worst provider in human virtual history) alot of people who play wow have tried at least LOTRO ..its cute for a while then it tends to get on your nerves pretty fast even tho it has "pretty" colors. Cheers
