Pc Gaming Alliance is going to save the pc games

It's no secret that the pc games have less and less influence in the gaming industry. Of course there's exceptions such as The Sims and World of Warcraft, but overall the consoles have taken over the biggest part of the cake - especially outside of Europe. However, now it seems as if the industry have had enough and takes steps to turn this around.

Companies such as Nvidia, Intel and AMD/ATI have decided to enter in a cooperation that they have named PC Gaming Alliance. It's suppose to combine the industry with the same message relayed to everyone. This doesn't mean that they are going to stop compete with each other though, they will keep pushing the development forward all the time.

One of our main major objectives is to provide one voice on PC gaming market. There's no one source that says 'hey this is where the PC market is going'. Sony, Nintendo and Microsoft are always calling their market share - we're going to call our market through this group.

I find it funny to see constructors allying to "save PC gaming" since they are mainly responsible, along with operating system developpers and video game editors for the fall of pc gaming.

I am a video game salesman and as such I can tell the main reason fewer and fewer people play games on pc is the fact that one needs to have the latest configuration available to play most recent video games such as Crysis, Call of Duty 4... Having such PC equipment and keeping it up to date requires funds and knowledge not available to the common video game player.

Were the aforementioned constructors not so obsessed with creating a new chip every two months to have new products to sell, PC video gaming might not be in the situation it is today

PC Gaming is not dying, its just console time (because new consoles have come out) and soon when 360 and PS3 and Wii have lost their sparkle, it will return, it happens all the time...

i agree with griffu i have spent a lot of money on my new pc its only 2 month old and i bet its already out of date due to games needing more powerfull grafix cards and faster chips . also there are no new games out there that makes u go wow

"also there are no new games out there that makes u go wow"

I hate to break it to the world but consoles are specialised PCs. That is all they are. They were always intended to do gaming better than PCs and low and behold... they are! Shock horror.
